Aira Shiratori, Jiji and Mr. Mantis Shrimp vs. Takonoka Ru Patcho, Ta Komeshi, Ta Kowasa, Suda Ko and Mantis Exosuit Kur is a battle that took place in Empty Space opened on the city of Tokyo. Using Okarun's kintama, the Kur accelerated the warping of their main fleet for the ongoing Kur Invasion. Aira, Jiji and Mr. Mantis Shrimp faced Takonoka Ru Patcho, Ta Komeshi, Ta Kowasa, Suda Ko and the Mantis Exosuit Kur while Momo and Rokuro raced to deactivate the warping apparatus.

Prologue[]

Following the multiple ambushes on the Family that injured every single member and hospitalized Okarun, Momo exiles Bamora from their house, believing her to be a spy who gave away their positions to the Kur. Based on Rokuro's statement that the Kur would launch a full-scale invasion of Earth in five days, Momo, Aira, Jiji and Mr. Mantis Shrimp relocate to the basement of the collapsed Nagi Hospital, a previous base of the Serpo. Inside, they train by replicating the aliens they faced as holograms through Combat-Use Simulators to learn their attack patterns. The day of the invasion, they drive inside the Ayase residence transformed into a car by the nanoskin, leaving Okarun behind so he could recover.

Furthermore, Okarun somehow enters his astral projection form and accidentally travels through a telephone line, finding himself in Hokkaido in front of Seiko and Turbo Granny. The two teach him about Spiral Power, a technique that increases the strength of attacks if spirals are applied to them, which he uses to return back to the settlement and plans to inform his friends about it to take down the Kur.

While they travel, Momo hands out a tiny device to everybody which allowed them to communicate telephatically, ignoring the loud noises of the battlefield and also featuring a map and their allies' and enemies' positions. She also reveals the concept of the Power of Words to Aira and Jiji, which can significantly increase the damage dealt by their special moves if they are named, although they don't take her seriously and Aira focuses instead on reading a magazine about hair management, which will be useful later. They then enter Empty Space, opened by the Kur Advance Unit so their species' UFOs could infiltrate Earth without being noticed. A few seconds after, the Kur spots them and opens fire.

Takonoka Ru Patcho and Suda Ko aim at the car and they release a burst of missiles and a railgun shot, blowing up the house into smithereens and catapulting everybody outside. They approach the wreck of the house along with Ta Komeshi, Ta Kowasa and the Mantis Exosuit Kur to check if there are any survivors. Without warning, Aira and Mr. Mantis Shrimp rush outside, with the former landing a powerful kick directed at Ta Komeshi, flipping him over. The latter targets Ta Kowasa, however the alien protects his body by enveloping himself with his mechanical arms, blocking the hit. The Dover Demon doesn't falter and redirects his body towards the Mantis Exosuit Kur, throwing an uppercut which is parried by the enemy's big electrical blades. The mantis scurries away and swings his blades at high speed to hopefully catch the opponent off guard, but despite this, Mr. Mantis Shrimp zooms forward and evades the attacks to unleash a second powerful uppercut right at the Kur's face. He tries stopping the punch by covering himself with his laser blade, yet the strike is powerful enough to overwhelm him, sending him flying backwards. Ta Kowasa doesn't give the Dover Demon a chance to finish him off and immediately restrains him with his mechanical arms, lifting him upwards so Suda Ko can have an easy shot. Unexpectedly his arms are wrapped around Aira's hair, who forcefully tilts them to the side, pushing her alien ally just enough for Suda Ko's energy beam to miss and almost take out Ta Kowasa. The latter jumps to avoid the shockwave and just then Aira sweeps in, making use of his vulnerable position to throw a devastating kick while holding her hands towards the ground, sending him spinning skyward with such force that he crashes into a nearby skyscraper.

Aira screams at Momo, who's carrying Rokuro around on a cart, to go ahead and deactivate the warp gate, but she points out that it takes three of them to defeat a single alien and they must stick together to not lose anybody. Rokuro tries to reason with her, stating that if the main force arrives through the gate, they'll have to face a million of tough enemies like the ones in front of them. Momo's lost in thought when out of nowhere Suda Ko charges his railgun, ready to shoot her. Aira warns her to move but thankfully Jiji distracts the alien and blasts him away by emitting a ki wave through his palm, launching him into the nearby building and saving Momo and Rokuro. Jiji tells Momo to go ahead too, claiming that he has refined his ki and he can now confidently take on the aliens. Mr. Mantis Shrimp shares the same message too, although this irritates Aira because she's the leader and only she can give orders, demanding to initiate plan B. Momo trusts her friends and escapes to Shiba Park with Rokuro, although when Jiji asks her what's the plan, she reveals that there isn't one. Simultaneously, Takonoka Ru Patcho releases a barrage of rockets which blows up the ground they are standing on, forcing Aira and Mr. Mantis Shrimp to advance towards the Kur Advance Unit while Jiji hops over Suda Ko's shot and prepares to fling him away with his ki manipulation. Soon after the trio approaches the enemies and Aira jumps over Ta Kowasa who tries to strike her but ultimately reaches for Jiji, who narrowly dodges by falling back.

At the same time, Mr. Mantis Shrimp focuses on the Mantis Exosuit Kur, evading the close-range blade swings and counters with overhead punches. The two ferociously dance back and forward in a battle of strikes and swings, but the Dover Demon is too short and his attacks don't land, allowing the enemy to eventually slash his head, forcing him on the defensive. The alien keeps attacking him with his blades from both sides when a car is suddenly flung his way, separating the two opponents. Aira leaps in the Mantis Exosuit Kur's way with three cars wrapped around her hair as she instructs his ally to retreat because they are too deep in enemy ground. Before she can crush the adversary with the vehicles, they are unexpectedly blown up by Takonoka Ru Patcho's missiles, frustrating Aira. Ta Kowasa uses this opportunity and captures Aira to give Suda Ko an easy shot once again, who this time actually charges the railgun and fires. She prepares to receive the painful blow when the beam is amazingly reflected by Jiji's ki, who warns the alien that he's not going to get away with it. Meanwhile Mr. Mantis Shrimp zooms in and strikes Ta Kowasa in the chest, sending him rolling down the road. The trio reunites and Mr. Mantis Shrimp reassures Jiji that his species is naturally tough and his injuries are not severe. Aira thanks the two for their help but she informs them that they cannot win unless an opening shows up and they attack one of the Kur at the same time. She claims that if they can defeat atleast one, then there's a chance they can win and so she requests her friends to endure the battle further.

Jiji's Evil Gun.

Jiji's Evil Gun.

Aira orders Jiji to redirect the line of fire of Takonoka Ru Patcho and Suda Ko's projectiles, while she instructs Mr. Mantis Shrimp to stop the Mantis Exosuit Kur from approaching them since his attacks are lethal against humans. She then faces Ta Kowasa who tries to restrain her again with his mechanical arms, yet this time she mimics his limbs with her own hair, blocking the incoming hands and trapping the enemy inside a cocoon. Jiji cheers him on as she charges up a powerful kick to finish Ta Kowasa off, when suddenly, the last alien Ta Komeshi who she didn't take into account boosts upwards with his jets, capturing Aira against his body thanks to his mechanical mallets and he lifts her and Ta Kowasa in the sky. Jiji recognizes the powerful adversary and emits a wave of ki as it begins unleashing his shockwave field, damaging Aira's insides with its vibrations. The ki barely scratches the anti gravity zone and Ta Kowasa frees himself from Aira's grasp, returning ot the battlefield. Jiji panics and calls for his mantisian friend to help Aira, though he too is already busy with the Mantis Exosuit Kur who's overwhelming him with his sharp blades. The boy turns around and sees Takonoka Ru Patcho and Suda Ko releasing their arsenal onto him while Ta Kowasa charges at him. In such dire conditions, Jiji can only charge his palm wave once again as he's caught in the various explosions. Before losing consciousness, he remembers Momo asking if he had chosen a name for his special move, giving him a shiver of hope to keep fighting. He stands up after being catapulted around by the missiles and hones his ki, initially opting to copy the iconic energy beam's name from Dragon Ball, but he stops himself and tries to find a better name coming from within. Seeing his friends on the verge of death, he admits his fear and hatred at what is currently happening, resonating with the Evil Eye and giving him the inspiration to name his attack the Evil Gun, releasing a groundbreaking cannon of ki which destroys the incoming rockets and pierces right through Ta Komeshi, destroying the arms trapping Aira.

Ta Komeshi luckily survives the blast, with the left part of its body now hollowed out by the Evil Gun while the unconscious Aira falls down onto the concrete. Jiji screeches in pain because of the effort he had put in to release that powerful beam, realizing that he can barely fire his ki out because he overexerted himself. He's soon shot by Suda Ko and he rolls out of the way, falling in Ta Kowasa's range who easily captures him and dives forward, stabbing his sides with his hands. The boy keeps screaming in excruciating pain while the alien contemplates about his dangerous energy, deciding to absorb all of it until Jiji is completely drained. A few seconds after he starts stealing his ki, a huge bundle of energy travels through his arms and into his head, popping a vein which starts spurting out blood. Ta Kowasa is frightened at the unstoppable ki which keeps pumping into his suit, realizing that there is no end to it and he tries to abort the process by releasing his fingers in vain. As the Kur panics, Jiji informs him that he can have all the ki he wants, which he has refined with his training. Instantly the exosuit overheats and implodes, shocking the other aliens seeing one of their allies dying to one of the puny humans. From the carcass, Ta Kowasa crawls out in his true octopus form just as the boy screams to Aira that he defeated one, meaning that they can now win just like she had said. Ta Komeshi, Takonoka Ru Patcho and Suda Ko all target him with their respecive weaponry and try to eliminate the powerful threat, yet the boy rolls back on his feet and unleashes a second Evil Gun, repelling all the missiles, railgun shots and anti-gravity beams. Takonoka Ru Patcho is frightened by the boy's hidden strength he has just revealed and claims that they must defeat him quickly if they want to win. His exosuit randomly starts beeping and he turns his neck around, observing an entire truck being hurled his way. He immediately spins his body around and blasts the vehicle away with rockets, but through the thick smoke, Aira sneaks in and appears in front of him to strike him with her foot.

He reacts quickly by deploying his disks, forming an electric barrier to act as a shield between him and Aira. Takonoka Ru Patcho boasts that her efforts to win are useless due to his suit providing perfect offense and defense. Unexpectedly, spins her hair in front of her to form a sort of tunnel as she explains that because of Ta Komeshi's vibration field and her recent lack of hair maintenance, it has been completely drained of moisture. Thanks to the magazine she had read on their way to Tokyo, she had discovered that dehydrated hair doesn't conduct electricity, which she used to her advantage to create a hole in the electric barrier, flabbergasting the alien. She tells him to remember her words by striking him with a fierce kick which catapults him into the side of a building. Takonoka Ru Patcho regains balance and tries to flee, stating that a weak attack like hers won't destroy his exosuit's armstring. Aira chases him, demanding him to stop, when Jiji suddenly shouts at her to move out of his ki discharge. Without warning, Suda Ko and Ta Komeshi unleash fire directly onto the boy, scaring Aira. Before she can reach him and check if he's alright, she's hit by a barrage of rockets deployed by Takonoka Ru Patcho, taking her down too. Jiji and Aira lay unconscious on the ground, alongside Mr. Mantis Shrimp who had been knocked out by the various explosions on the field. Simultaneously, Momo taps into Bamora's aura, accessing her memories which get broadcasted through the miniature communicator they are all wearing. They too acknowledge her past, also with Rokuro and Okarun who was making his way towards Shiba Park. Ultimately they regain consciousness, all saddened by what Bamora had to go through to reach Earth, and they are now more determined than ever to take down the malefic Kur.

Aira and Takonoka Ru Patcho repeatedly hitting each other.

Takonoka Ru Patcho approaches the defeated Aira and electrocutes her with his disks, making her scream in agony. He remarks that last time she managed to escape but it would be now futile to stall them further, considering that they are able to function for more than three minutes thanks to the strong territory they had developed around the city prior to the invasion. Aira regains her strength and manifests Acrobatic Silky's powers, grabbing the enemy's suit and mechanisms to stop the electrical discharge, telling him that they won't work on her anymore because of her dry hair and this time, she will be the one who will stop him from running away. This irritates the alien who releases missiles at point-blank, though she encloses herself in a cocoon to protect herself from the blast while keeping him close with her hair. He repeatedly unleashes rockets to blow her up, pointing out to his allies that she's very tenacious and he's going to back up. Suda Ko hears him and instructs him to get farther away so he can shoot her, however his focus shifts to Jiji when Ta Komeshi's suit detects him from far away, who's now standing up and charging up his ki. Suda Ko is baffled by his power and when the boy releases his third Evil Gun, it forces him and Ta Komeshi to counter with their own beams, starting a deadly tug of war between the two parties. Jiji feels like giving up, but Bamora pops up in his head and finds the will to keep the Evil Gun up, even releasing more power than what he had initially emitted. The two aliens are amazed by the boy's incredible output and endless energy, believing that he would be the perfect vessel to create a new suit and the two argue over who's going to clam it. Meanwhile, Takonoka Ru Patcho furiously keeps up his rocket barrage although Aira is able to strike him between the explosions with her foot, claiming that she will kick him as many times as needed to beat him and the winner will be determined by whoever has more endurance. The alien however argues that his suit can withstand the blasts of his own missiles and her puny kicks will barely scratch it, enraging Aira who resumes hitting him, telling him that she won't give up easily. Still, she's eventually driven into a defensive position and she tries to keep up her cocoon as Takonoka Ru Patcho mocks her vile human form, calling her a sickening organism that deserves to be minced and blown away. He even points out that she's barely keeping up when unexpectedly, both Jiji and Aira hear Okarun's voice, who has finally entered empty space.

The Mantis Exosuit Kur in his underwater form pummeling Mr. Mantis Shrimp.

While all of this ensues, Mr. Mantis Shrimp is isolated from the main group and faces the Mantis Exosuit Kur alone, who catapults him near the riverside. The Kur exclaims that he has never encountered a being as strong as him, though this doesn't irritate him. On the contrary, it allows him to use his exosuit's capabilities at their full potential., thoroughly enjoying beating up the Dover Demon. Mr. Mantis Shrimp is barely standing but he remembers the last time he returned to the farm to put Chiquitita to sleep. Outside, a woman of the farm asked him if he was going to leave again and Peeny Weeny confirms it, asking her to look after his child one last time. However she confronts him about his injuries and the fact that he returns everytime with new ones every time, severely worrying her. The alien promises that he's going to come back, also because he has to raise Chiquitita to be big and strong. With this promise in mind, Mr. Mantis Shrimp remains determined and throws himself in the river, making the enemy burst into laughter due to his pathetic performance. The Dover Demon responds, admitting that he doesn't care about him and his army because he's not a human, however he reveals the debt he owes and it's the reason for why he's going to fight him to the end. The Kur understands his mission and transforms his exosuit into its aquatic form, claiming that he becomes a hundred times stronger when fighting in water. Immediately he dives into the river and strikes the opponent with his giant blade, making him crash on the riverbed. The underwater beast then turns his four legs into jets to gain speed and crush Mr. Mantis Shrimp between the sand and his blade, following the attack by pummeling him from all sides. He then grabs him and drags his face into the seafloor before driving him into the concrete wall containing the river, though at this point Mr. Mantis Shrimp is barely conscious and he shows signs of drowning.

The Kur reveals that because they are in the water, the laser function of its blades can't operate, although he makes up for it with an explosive increase in power and speed. He resumes repeatedly striking him with his upper legs, exclaiming that the water is not Mr. Mantis Shrimp's turf, but his. Still, he's aware of his species' strength and he knows that simply slashing him won't be enough to kill him, so he extracts a sharp spike from his mouth and stabs his adversary, injecting venom in his veins so he can dissolve his organs and eat them later. The Kur is shocked to see that Mr. Mantis Shrimp is not dead yet, who affirms that despite his very big size, now that he's very close to him, he can finally hit him. In a mere instant, the Dover Demon strikes the enemy with a single punch that reverberates throughout the entire exosuit, causing it to malfunction and fall apart. He informs the shocked Kur that when he's in water his power increases tenfold, and when he shapeshifts he becomes 24 times stronger. By multiplying these together, he becomes 240 times more powerful than his normal version, surpassing the Mantis Exosuit Kur's mere one hundred multiplier. His adversary calls it ridiculous and accuses him of bluffing, although he's proven wrong when Mr. Mantis Shrimp finishes him off with a devastating Jet Punch in his Strong Style Twenty-Four, ending the duel. The Dover Demon is suprised by the clean punch he just threw but he rushes up to the surface and finally breathes. Completely exhausted, he exits the water, saying that without a Serpo energy drink, he can barely remain in his strong style for 24 seconds instead of 24 hours. He then spews out the venom inside him from his chest, stating that even though he's weak, his species as a whole is strong and poison won't work him just as the Mantis Exosuit blows up and definitely kills the Kur wielding it. He then returns to the middle of the city where his two allies are still fighting.

Aira and Jiji are both eager to hear Okarun talk as they struggle against the enemy's attacks, who are told to hold out until his arrival. In the meantime, he reveals that Seiko had told him to use the power of the spiral to defeat even the most formidable foes, a keyword that made Jiji remember a training session with Momo's grandmother. She had pointed out that a spinning top can only stand upright when rotating, recognizing it as spiral power. She then told him to spin his ki in the point below your navel in a similar fashion, uniting his and the Evil Eye's as they spin. By successfully performing this and honing his ki, Seiko believes that he might be able to use the power of the Evil Eye. Hearing her words, Jiji follows her orders and rotates his Evil Gun now powered by the yokai inside him, honing it and resulting in a much powerful version. Suda Ko and Ta Komeshi freeze up by the destructive outburst and beg Jiji to stay away from him as the Evil Gun overwhelms their energy beams, obliterating them into nothingness and flattening every building in the attack's path. At the same time, Aira deploys the concept by turning her cocoon into a drill and smashes against Takonoka Ru Patcho's exosuit. The alien is still confident of his exosuit's resistance when the drill suddenly breaches through, shocking him. He keeps trying to blast her away with his rockets, but upon remembering Bamora's past, Aira promises to her that she's going to kill every single one of them in her place. Jiji screams out to use her special move and Aira unleashes her Pirouette, Noble Drill, cracking through the exosuit and eviscerating the alien inside, finally ending the exhausting battle.

Aftermath[]

Both Aira and Jiji are launched back by the mere force of their special moves and they collapse onto the ground, still in disbelief that they somehow managed to beat them. Mr. Mantis Shrimp reaches the area and starts searching for them, prompting Aira to greet him. He helps her stand up despite her telling him to go check on Jiji first, adamant to help a lady out first. Aira points out that the warp gate still isn't closed and Momo might be in trouble. She shouts to Jiji asking him if he can move so they can go rescue Momo but he doesn't answer. She's at first afraid that he might be dead, but as he looks closer, she realizes that the Evil Eye has took over.

The Family facing the Kur Army.

The Family facing the Kur Army.

After Momo is saved by Okarun, Aira arrives and uses her Pirouette, Noble Drill to dig the way through a giant Kur holding Bamora hostage. At the same time, Mr. Mantis Shrimp punches a couple of aliens back and tells Momo that she needs to be careful from now on. Momo can't believe her eyes, yet she wishes to know about Jiji's conditions who still hasn't showed up. Okarun reveals that something terrible is happening as the Evil Eye makes his way through the Kur army and reaches them. Because he was asleep for many days, he just realized that it's a tuesday and that means the yokai wants to fight him. The Evil Eye demands him to get ready when he's shot by a kur wielding the Suda Ko, though damage is minimal and he throws an object in his direction, killing him instantly. The yokai asks the aliens who they are, warning them that if they try to get in his way as he's fighting Okarun, he'll have to murder them all. Everybody now stands together facing off the enemy army, ready to unleash chaos.
