This is the article on the kogai. For the cursed sword, head to Asura.

It's a kogai crafted with the same material of the cursed sword, Asura.

Appearance[]

They are small, pointy hairpins brought along with the kozuka knives as close-range weapons in contrast to the cursed sword Asura. They are all identical and they share two symbols, the one closer to the handle is a flame similar to Auras and the other is a flower, which appears more prominently on the kozuka knives.

Capabilities[]

Power Conservation [v · e]
Forged from the same blade as the cursed sword Asura, an Asura possesses the weapon's ability to contain powers from living things and spirits. The process to transfer the stolen power from the black kozuka knife to the kogai is unknown.
For Count Saint-Germain, he can use the power from a kogai by inserting one through the tsuba holes of his sword.

History[]

Past[]

Five years before the start of the series, the cursed sword Asura that was sealed away was stolen by an unknown robber and was used to craft various kogais from its blade to contain the numerous stolen powers with ease.

Kintama Hunt Saga[]

Danmara Arc[]

After the Fairy-Tale Card failed to injure Count Saint-Germain, he reached under his coat, revealing multiple kogais attached to it, and he replaced the kogai inserted in his sword's tsuba with another one, containing Jumping Crone powers, allowing him to form platforms to land on mid air, shocking the yokai. Once the Count got close enough, he switched kogais, unleashing the Black Haircutter's powers and slashing the face card of the opponent, although it quickly birthed a replacement. After being hit by one of the Fairy-Tale Card's beads, he inserted a new kogai in the tsuba, manifesting the Water Tiger's powers, allowing him to immediately reach the ground and run to safety.
