The Ayase Residence is a home on the outskirts of Kamigoe City that is owned by the spirit medium Seiko Ayase. Previously, the dwelling only consisted of Seiko and her granddaughter Momo, but has since grown slightly with residents ever since Momo started to have frequent encounters with supernatural forces, now currently including three boarders.

Overview[]

The residential area is surrounded by a fence with a few trees and its entrance is represented by a torii with a talisman attached by Seiko to ward off any evil spirits that may try to enter the territory. It consists of three structures: a shrine, a house, and a storage room.

Shrine[]

At the center of the residential area is a shrine that can be used to prevent cursed individuals from going berserk once inside.

House[]

The house.

The house.

At the left corner of the residential area is where the house is located. The house is of two floors with multiple windows and is setup with two door chimes to detect if the individual ringing the doorbell is either human or an evil spirit.

The first floor of the house is of a tatami living room with a flatscreen TV and usually a table whenever time for breakfast or dinner. From the living room, there are sliding doors that lead to an empty room that is used for guests, and from there, sliding doors that lead to the kitchen. Across the hall to the right is where the bathroom is located. On the right side of the living room are stairs that lead up to the second floor, which is where Momo's bedroom is at.

Following the Evil Eye's temporary residency that resulted in the house being reduced to nothing but debris and rubble, Seiko and Momo manage to recreate their house thanks to their cohorts acquiring nanoskin from Ludris.

Abilities and Powers[]

Reconstruction [v · e]
Being made entirely out of nanoskin, the house is able to reconstruct itself to whatever the person inside is visualizing. In order to properly use the nanoskin, the person must have a solid mental image of what they want the house to look like or else they risk causing the house to become distorted, which will end up having the walls close in to crush them and whoever else is inside. The construct is also only as good as the person's imagination. This idea was thought up by Okarun to combat against Bamora's kaiju suit's gigantic form.

Constructs

The Great Kinta (グレートキンタ Gurēto Kinta?), previously named as the Great Kinta Bodhisattva, Zeta Version (グレートキンタ菩薩ゼータバージョン Gurēto Kinta Bosatsu Zēta Bājon?), is a giant mecha construct used to combat against Bamora in her kaiju suit's gigantic form. When piloted by Kinta, the mecha proved to be very formidable, as its physical strength were great enough to damage the kaiju and leave a path of destruction in the Empty Space. Since the mecha was composed entirely of nanoskin, which is a fragile material, its durability was considerably weak and could easily be damaged. However, by continuously applying their imagination to the nanoskin, the pilot can have the mecha repair itself to give it a form of regeneration. The airbags constant inflation whenever the mecha received a direct hit also proved to be a hindrance when trying to pilot it or to make the choice to eject from it by trying to reach for the eject lever.

During the Kur invasion, Kinta once again transformed the Ayase house into a mecha to combat Hastur. Unlike its earlier incarnation, which was influenced by Momo's visualization of a Buddha, the new form was shaped entirely by Kinta's imagination. The resulting design featured a more mechanical aesthetic, including segmented armor plating, massive limbs, and sharp claws and feet. This version of the mecha was also renamed simply as the Great Kinta, reflecting its departure from the previous "Bodhisattva" motif and embracing a more sci-fi-inspired identity.
Great Kinta Kaiju Zeta Version - First Form

Irritated by Kinta's piloting that caused them to experience motion sickness, Momo and Aira took control of the mecha by applying their powers, resulting in their abilities becoming large in scale. While the mecha was wrecked by the kaiju, Aira applied her long Acrobatic Silky hair powers to the head while Momo used her psychokinesis to take control of the separated forearms from the shoulders (legs included in the anime).
Capabilities
Acrobatic Silky Power
Great Kinta Bodhisattva, Zeta Version Acrobatic Silky Power (Anime)
Using her Acrobatic Silky hair channeling through the mecha, Aira utilized it to wrap it completely around Bamora's kaiju suit in order to disclose its presence while invisible.
Psychokinesis
Powerbomb (Anime)
Using her psychokinesis channeling through the mecha to attach its arms, Momo controlled the limbs to grab Bamora's kaiju suit and raise it high up in the air to perform a destructive powerbomb.

After figuring out that the mecha could only be controlled through visualized movements, Kinta altered the appearance of the Buddha statue to have it more form fitting for battle. In this form, the V-fin is changed to sunglasses, the robe is changed into a sleeveless gi with a scarf draped over its shoulders, and circular plates are placed on its hips.
The pilot for this form was Kinta who controlled the mecha to fight in melee combat and perform improvised techniques. To handle the kaiju's invisibility, Kinta imagined the mecha's sunglasses as an infrared scope but was attacked before the feature could prove to be useful.

Rocket Punch
(ロケットパーンチ Roketto Pānchi?)
Rocket Punch (Anime)
Kinta controls the Great Kinta's left arm to throw its detached right arm at his opponent as a projectile.
Super Electrowave Tornado
(超電波竜巻 Chō Denpa Tatsumaki?)
Super Electrowave Tornado (Anime)
A technique where Kinta controls the Great Kinta to grab his opponent and spin them around rapidly until he lets go to send them crashing back a great distance. In the VIZ Manga, this is called Super Electrowave Hurricane.
Super Electrowave Spin
(超電波スピン Chō Denpa Supin?)
Super Electrowave Spin (Anime)
A technique where Kinta controls the Great Kinta to perform a spinning divebomb onto his opponent while it is down. The attack was strong enough to destroy the horns of Bamora's exosuit.

Initially, the mecha took the form of a giant Buddha resembling in posture to the Grand Buddha at Ling Shan, or Ushiku Daibutsu. It had a V-fin, that was shaped from the Ayase Residence's torii, located at its forehead, a single-spiked left shoulder pad and a three-section left wing. Its hands and forearms were also quite large and had studded wrists. This form was created by accident on Momo's part while Kinta took charge of reconstructing the house after a giant Buddha statue popped into her head as "something big" that was needed to fight the kaiju.
The pilots for this form consisted of Momo, Okarun, Aira, the Evil Eye and Kinta.

From what the five pilots learned from randomly pressing buttons at once in an attempt to get the mecha to move was that its right arm could be controlled, a cuckoo bird could pop out from its stomach, a tongue can stick out from its head, the pilot for the left shoulder could eject from their seat, and its left arm could detonate. It is also equipped with airbags if the mecha takes a direct hit.

As a way to safely move an injured Okarun from the Ayase residence to Naki Hospital in preparation for the Kur invasion, Mr. Mantis Shrimp used the nanoskin to construct the Ayase house into a mobile home by visualizing eight legs with wheels and a truck head. He then drove them to their destination, albeit recklessly. The mobile home was constructed once again by Mr. Mantis Shrimp after he needed to return home to Chiquitita.

Turbo Granny Arc[]

The torii gate talisman forbidding a cursed Okarun from entering the complex.

The torii gate talisman forbidding a cursed Okarun from entering the complex.

Following the events involving Turbo Granny and the Serpo, Momo had invited Okarun to her home until they confronted the yokai at night to break his curse. Upon his arrival, Okarun was immediately set ablaze by the spirit-warding talisman affixed to the torii gate, prompting Momo to remove it and grant him safe entry. While changing clothes, they heard an unfamiliar chime at the door, a sign that a spirit had entered after the talisman's removal. Sneaking outside to investigate, they encountered the Flatwoods Monster, who launched an attack within an alternate space, destroying the replica version of Momo’s residence. Drawing on Momo's psychic powers and Turbo Granny's speed, Okarun fought back, helping Momo restore the talisman to the torii gate and ultimately defeat the alien intruder. Once the battle ended, the two were expelled from the pocket dimension and returned to the real, untouched version of the house. Seiko then returned from her job just in time to stop a possessed Okarun from devouring Momo after she collapsed from exhaustion, having him put inside her shrine to suppress the curse.

The following day, Seiko began training Momo to harness her psychic abilities in preparation for her and Okarun's confrontation with Turbo Granny. However, their time was cut short when Turbo Granny, through Okarun, threatened Momo to unleash her curse on others unless they acted before sunset. After the curse was lifted following Turbo Granny's defeat, the trio celebrated over dinner.

Acrobatic Silky Arc[]

Okarun returned to the Ayase residence with Momo to embarrassingly inform Seiko that he had realized his kintama were missing, resulting in him being scolded by the latter for refusing to let her examine him the day before. Sensing something was off after going through the examination, Seiko performed a ritual using a bucket of water, a talisman, and a maneki-neko doll, ultimately revealing that Turbo Granny had been hiding inside Okarun during her exorcism. Trapped within the maneki-neko, Turbo Granny attempted to manipulate Okarun, demanding he kill Momo and Seiko in exchange for the location of his missing kintama. However, her leverage vanished the moment Okarun involuntarily transformed into his Turbo Granny form, revealing to Turbo Granny and the others that the ritual left her power inside him while only driving out the yokai's consciousness. Seiko then became prompted to attack the cat doll to put her in her place. Momo stepped in to negotiate, offering to restore Turbo Granny's spiritual power in exchange for help locating Okarun's kintama. Though Turbo Granny agreed, she admitted she had lost them during battle. Their search ended in disappointment, as the kintama were no longer where she had left them.

Serpo Arc[]

Following the confrontation with Acrobatic Silky and the recovery of one of Okarun's kintama from their fellow schoolmate, Aira Shiratori, Momo and Okarun invited her to Momo's house for a meal with Seiko and Turbo Granny. Despite everything that had unfolded, Aira continued to perceive Momo as her destined enemy after finding Okarun's kintama and leaves vowing to defeat her and liberate Okarun. With one kintama secured, Momo, Seiko, and Turbo Granny decided on returning the object back to Okarun's groin via a game of baseball, much to his dismay.

Following the confrontation with the Serpo at school, Momo, Okarun, and Aira brought the severely injured Dover Demon, hired help of the Serpo, to the Ayase residence to care for him. When he regained consciousness, overwhelmed by their kindness, he vowed never to harm them again. After a chaotic meal, the Dover Demon revealed that his son, Chiquitita, suffered from a blood disorder and is in desperate need to earn foreign currency for his son's treatment. Moved by his story, Okarun offered to sell his kintama to help fund his son's recovery, but the alien declined, deeply grateful for their generosity. Before his departure, Seiko noticed the scent of his blood resembled milk and, upon confirmation by the alien, offered him a cow for his journey home, an act that left the Dover Demon profoundly touched. Following his leave, the Ayase residence received another visitor, Jin Enjyoji, Momo's childhood friend.

Cursed House Arc[]

Upon Jiji's arrival, Seiko revealed his relocation, a surprising announcement that displeased Momo. Concurrently, Okarun felt envious of Jiji, while Aira erroneously thought they were gathering troops for Ragnarok, leading her to escape in order to muster her own forces. Okarun also departed, although Momo urged him to bid her farewell in the same manner she had done with him previously as a customary gesture.

Back inside, Seiko explained to Momo that Jiji's parents were hospitalized, and he needed support, which he acknowledged by repeatedly thanking and complimenting her. Later, in the kitchen, Jiji reminisced about his past with Momo, admitting regret for teasing her and revealing his newfound ability to see spirits. Momo questioned whether he had ever touched a golden ball, which he dismissed as a joke. He then shared his unsettling experiences in his new home, where an evil spirit manifested daily, eventually causing his parents to fall ill. With three of five exorcists ending their own lives while handling his case, he turned to Seiko for help, though she insisted Momo handle the situation, as her powers were limited to Kamigoe City.

The following day, Jiji, Momo, and Okarun returned to the Ayase house with the living anatomical model Hana and pleaded with Seiko to allow her to stay at the house, while her lover Taro, the male counterpart, remained at school. Seiko agreed to take her in under the condition that she and Taro don't disturb the neighbors. While Seiko prepared dinner for everyone in the kitchen, Okarun became prompted to interfere with Jiji's closeness with Momo and discreetly express his determination to fight for her affection. He then learned from Seiko that Momo will be traveling to Jiji's house to rid his house of the evil spirit haunting it and becomes

Jiji's growing closeness to Momo stirred Okarun's jealousy, which worsened when Seiko revealed Ayase would be staying at Enjoji's house, prompting Takakura to join the expedition as well. That night, Taro entered the residence, delivering a dramatic confession of love for Hana and pledging to visit her nightly. Meanwhile, Jiji struggled to sleep, haunted by visions of the Evil Eye in his dreams.

The conclusion of the Byakuja Village Incident and the possession of Jiji by the Evil Eye has them exorcise the yokai but fail. Mr. Mantis Shrimp, Chiquitita, Seiko, Momo, Okarun, Aira, Turbo Granny, Hana and Jiji sealed inside Taro all eat dinner together. Shiratori is mad for not being called to help and demands to know why the Dover Demon is back, stating that the cow he was given didn't produce milk (as it was a male) and milking it in a water-like atmosphere was difficult so they decided to live on Earth. Seiko has Manjiro, her assistant, call the Hayashi Performers instead of the Rokken Sect to free Enjoji from the yokai, despite the collateral effects. In that moment, Taro eats a hot bun and Jin screams out. The Family initally believes it to be a trick of Evil Eye's, however Taro opens his face, showing that Enjoji truly has regained consciousness. Seiko proves her theory right, with cold giving Evil Eye the control of the body while heat gives it to Jiji.

Taro demands to have his body back so he can get closer to Hana but Seiko denies him till the situation becomes safe. She takes responsibility for what happened, with Turbo Granny affirming that Evil Eye is a mountain yokai, which are usually stronger, and Jiji is a prodigy who acts as the ultimate vessel. The yokai is a newborn and will eventually power up and break the seals imposed on him so they'll have to perform a professional exorcism as soon as possible. In the meantime, they'll use thermos with hot water in case the Evil Eye takes control and attacks them. Outside, Mr Shrimp confirms hes going to live in a nearby dairy farm and his true name is "Peeny Weeny", being awkward for human standards, and he then leaves with Chiquitita. The others hop on Manjiro's van and drive off towards the hospital where Enjoji's parents are resting.

Evil Eye Arc[]

Momo asks Okarun and Aira to give a hand with the Evil Eye situation which they gladly accept and they enter the residence just as Taro deattaches from Jiji. They happily greet each other and prepare to have lunch, with Seiko handing them thermos just in case. While enjoying their time together, a drop of soy sauce lands on Enjoji's skin, immediately transforming into Evil Eye and sending everyone flying, This happens again at dinner and they all activate their powers but the yokai makes swift work of them, only stopped by Momo when she splashes him with hot water from behind. The house is already completely wrecked and Seiko states it might be in ruins by tomorrow. Suddenly, four individuals enter the property but Seiko sends them off. Momo and Aira begin battering on who's going to lead when the group comes back and reveal themselves as the Hayashi Performers.

Seiko affirms that they are not even spirit sensitive, which protects them from possible possessions during the exorcism and their sounds can even reach the realm of the dead. With everything set, they blast their powerful music which slowly kills the Evil Eye while Jiji is invaded by the memories of the little kid. Enjoji asks to stop but he gets straddled down with Momo's powers, who too gets a glimpse of the yokai's backstory. Jiji cries, shouting how he promised to play with him because the kid was locked away and never had anyone to play with. Seiko understands and calls off the ritual, welcoming the Evil Eye in their family. Aira refuses to deal with Jiji's selfishness for keeping that yokai alive, however she changes her mind when Okarun announces he's going to get stronger to deal with it. Momo and Aira start fighting and they don't notice the droplets of rain which touch Enjoji, giving the Evil Eye control and sending Takakura flying into the house.

Later, the Hayashi Perfomers leave and they temporarily repair the house with cardboard before making Jiji start a strict chi conditioning regiment. He initially fails but when Momo sits down and gets pushed she doesn't move an inch, fruit of the hand ritual she did when she was younger. Seiko explains that in this position the chi of the person emerges and Jiji's is powerful enough to constrict and seize the spirit inside him. They sleep over that night and Okarun accompanies Jin to the bathroom to prevent cold water from touching him. Jiji feels indebted to everyone for getting the house wrecked but his friend reassures him that they are all in this together. He's reminded of when he got cursed by the Turbo Granny and caused trouble for the Ayase family, so when he tried to repay Seiko back with money, she harshly refused and told him to help someone else as a contribute. The following morning they have a peaceful breakfast together and the three of them leave for school.

Jiji shows lots of improvement in his chi refinement as Manjiro couldn't push him down and he even resisted the possession of the Evil Eye when a drop of soy sauce touched him. After Momo's late shift at the Moe Moe Kikoho, Okarun rushes to get her and they walk together home. Once arrived, Ayase goes to drink some hot water as it was freezing outside. Aira and Jiji accidentally bump into each other, making her spill her drink on him and causing the yokai to manifest in the boy's body. He immediately protects himself from the hot water by forming the cursed house and engulfes Ayase. Seiko's talisman blows up when it comes in contact with the grudges and Okarun can't even break into the structure. Momo keeps the spirit away with her psychokinesis, leading him to shrink the house inside to catch her. She then spits the warm water she had in her mouth, reverting Jiji back to normal. Okarun pushes him away and takes care of Momo while Seiko reassures him that it wasn't his fault. Aira feels guilty for what happened, which Momo brushes off and tells her that it was an accident. Meanwhile, Jiji and Okarun's friendship shivers, with the latter deciding to get stronger to finally seize the spirit.

Okarun returns home after consulting Mr. Mantis Shrimp in vain and Jiji doesn't even greet him. Manjiro explains to Seiko that dealing with the Evil Eye is too dangerous and he's going to call for the Hayashi Band. Seiko affirms that as an adult she wishes to take all the kids' burden onto herself, but her assistant points out that an adult should show them reality too. As Takakura trains on his own, he's spotted by the Turbo Granny who asks him if he wants to learn how to throw a punch or just get strong. He says it doesn't matter but she informs him that the Evil Eye surpasses him both in power, technique and speed. Okarun then states he wants to get stronger and follows the cat. Aira, intrigued, sneaks her way into the group.

Manjiro informs Jiji about the exorcism coming the following day to prevent anyone from dying but Momo refuses as the boy had been practicing every day and they promised to save the Evil Eye. Suddenly, the three return home after having trained against the Music Room Portraits and Okarun announces he's going to defeat the yokai. They call him reckless yet Takakura expresses how he felt pissed off because he was so weak and he couldn't protect Ayase when the time came. Manjiro tries to reason with the boy but Seiko shuts him off, acknowledging the fire in Okarun's spirit. Jiji begs Ken to defeat the Evil Eye and Aira splashes him with water, starting the fight.

With Okarun's All-Out he sends the yokai into the Ayase Residence, demolishing it completely, the debris almost hitting the bystanders. From the ruins, the Evil Eye emerges unscathed and wishes to continue their brawl, however Ken is in no condition to do so. Seiko states they cannot intervene as that would mean exorcising the spirit. Okarun then has the cunning idea to refuse as he has proved himself way stronger than him and doesn't want to bully him any longer. The Evil Eye shouts back, claiming he's strong, yet Okarun keeps denying it and proposes to fight only if he promises to not kill humans, every tuesday after school. The angry yokai accepts and removes his underwear which has a mind of its own and refuses, embarassing the girls. The Evil Eye gets excited for the fun fights they are going to have and returns the control to Jiji, who can finally go back and live an ordinary life.

Manjiro retrieves the evil briefs and drives off to showcase it in the Tsuchinoko Shrine. At the same time, Jiji's parents arrive to pick him up, who gets reminded by Seiko that he's still cursed and must continue his chi training. He thanks everyone for their help and leaves, with Aira and Okarun doing the same. Momo demands to hear Takakura say "See you tomorrow" however Aira intervenes and they batter briefly. Ayase, Seiko, Hana and the Turbo Granny look back at the destroyed house and instead of fixing it they decide to take a trip to the super bathhouse. When they come back, Seiko admits she spent all of her money and now they'll have nowhere to go. Just then, they bump into a bizzarre alien who greets them in his language but he's sent flying as they thought he was an intruder. Okarun and Aira come back, accompanied by Chiquitita and Mr Mantis Shrimp, the latter introducing his alien friend called Ludris, a construction specialist who's going to help fix their home. Seiko refuses to accept any help despite the situation but their unwavering determination to repay her back falls through. The Dover Demon grabs Ludris' nanoskin, which scans the brain and recreates exactly what they are imagining, starting the reconstruction of the Ayase Residence.

Kaiju Arc[]

The Great Kinta Bodhisattva, Zeta Version - First Form.

With the residence brought back to its original state, Seiko thanks the two "kappas" for their help. Okarun admits how Ayase's house has become his home too and he would have felt uneasy if it wasn't safe and sound. Momo happily states that everyone is welcome and asks them to come anytime they want. Jiji and his parents drives back with materials to help rebuild the house but they are surprised when they see it in perfect conditions. Inside, a tired Momo greets the Enjoji family, informing them that the two grannies are currently sleeping.

Following the appearance of the Kaiju, Momo and Okarun who's carrying an unconscious Aira reunite at their house while in Empty Space. The Evil Eye and Ken's classmate Kinta Sakata, the former being ready to clash despite not being a fighting day. Momo consults Okarun if they should utilize the yokai to defeat the Kaiju but he believes that may interfere with their plans and he might break his promise. Seiko is in another prefecture and Ayase starts getting anxious, touching the house's wall which starts glowing. Okarun remembers the nanoskin they implemented to rebuild the residence and suggests to make use of them to fight the giant enemy who's quickly approaching them. Inside, he recalls Ludris' words and tries to reshape the nanomachines though it's way harder than he believed it to be. Panic settles in however Kinta, a huge fan of sci-fi, manipulates the nanoskin and each member of the group follows a different chute into their assigned fighting position.

Sakata is excited to pilot a giant robot but he's quickly disappointed when Momo imagined a giant buddha statue, giving the mecha a strange look. He names it the Great Kinta Bodhisattva, Zeta Version and tries to move the robot with no avail. The Kaiju rushes towards them so Momo tells everyone to push a random button however this just blows off an arm and ejects Okarun from the mecha while Evil Eye breaks out on his own. The cryptid makes swift work of the mecha, swinging it up and down with his tail. Seeing the desperate situation they are in, Ken opts to use the Evil Eye powers, but surprisingly, Kinta finally figures out how to move the robot, regenerates it and goes on the offensive, landing many attacks such as the Blazing Wind Seiken Zuki Punch and the Super Electrowave Hurricane and Spin. Yet, the Kaiju turns invisible and heavily damages the robot, with the airbags getting in Kinta's way as he tries to eject. He's saved by Momo and Aira who utilize their psychokinesis and hair to seize the invisible giant, the two denying Sakata from manuevering any further as that just made them sick. The mecha is completely wrecked but Momo attaches the broken arms with her powers and they float into the sky before crashing down and land a devastating power bomb on the Kaiju, defeating it.

The Empty Space shuts off and they appear in the middle of the city so they quickly scramble and reposition the house to its original spot, with the girls quickly heading to the bathroom because of the nausea while Kinta cries tears of joy. Takakura and Jiji grab the shrunk down Kaiju and bring it to the residence just as Sakata boasts about his skills. Okarun tells him about the golden ball which they must absolutely retrieve which was inside the cryptid when they first met. As he examines the suit, Ken screams as he sees a face inside and they anxiously open it. Unexpectedly, a cute alien girl is found inside who wakes up from her injuries. Momo sluggishly leaves the house just as the girl kisses Okarun. She dropkicks the alien and demands to know why she attacked them though she speaks an incomprehensible language. Takakura tries to calm her down but Momo thinks he's saying that just because he fell for her and she leaves, furious. The three boys then accompany her to Mr Mantis Shrimp in hopes of translating what she's saying.

That evening the Family has dinner with the new two additions and Ken explains how the alien girl Bamora is looking for someone stronger than her to marry. Momo and Aira are mad as they were the ones who defeated her, however Kinta intervenes by stating how he pushed her to the brink and demands to get married with her. Shiratori berates Sakata while Ayase, seeing Ken getting closer to the alien who has developed a liking to takoyaki, sits next to him to lure him away. She ends up eating too much and the two get awkward in love while the boys outside interact with the Kaiju suit. Jiji begs to get inside and Bamora performs the same thumbs up sign as she doesn't understand what he's saying, leading to him crawling in and sending out a signal which gets picked up by the Space Globalists.

Space Globalists Arc[]

Seiko forces her granddaughter to accompany the alien Bamora, who she believes to be a transger student, to Kami High despite Momo's protests. The two grannies have to prepare for a work trip and they can't leave the girl all alone. An annoyed Momo gives the alien some clothes to put on but she doesn't seem to understand, triggering her even more. Suddenly, her horn start glowing and scans Ayase before seemingly enlarging the suit. Unexpectedly the suit mimics an identical copy of Momo's clothing and they leave for school.

The duo's encounter with the yokai Reiko Kashima infuriates Seiko as she always told her to not pass through her ruins. Ayase reveals she used the "pomade" spell to banish the spirit temporarily, though her grandma informs her that next time she'll have to say it a hundred times instead of ten. She then affirms how Reiko Kashima has never been defeated and they have to stay inside the house after 10 pm for the next week and they need to ignore anyone calling for them as the yokai will find them if they do so. Seiko sets up a pair of water glasses outside the bedroom and covers any mirrors as they'll have to stay inside the room until 5 am of the following morning. Night falls and Bamora sleeps with ease while Ayase is wide awake. Out of nowhere, she hears Okarun calling for her who's aware of the Reiko Kashima's situation and he has come there to return back the manga. He affirms that he's going to stand by and protect her so she can sleep without worry. Momo is grateful but she says she will feel bad if he has to stay outside, however, Takakura admits hes doing out of his love for her. Momo's heart starts bumping and she gets more embarrased when she hears him pronounce the famous Ken Takakura's line. She tells him to tell him properly face to face tomorrow and he agrees.

She can't fall asleep due to this sudden event and wants to hear him say it. She walks to the door but she sees the sign placed by Seiko stating to not leave the room for whatever reason. Ayase realizes what's happening and asks Takakura if he's going to hang out with Jiji tomorrow, which he denies by calling him in a formal way. Momo reenters her bed and reveals that Okarun is informal with Jiji, blowing Reiko Kashima's cover who begins shaking the house, still mimicking Okarun's voice and telling her he loves her.

The four residents of the house have breakfast together and Momo barely got any sleep. Seiko instructs her granddaughter to teach her how to use chopsticks but she's reminded of the glowing ball inside the Kaiju suit and shows it to the Turbo Granny. She's absolutely disgusted by what appears to be human karma and she wishes to never see it again while Ayase is perplexed as Bamora is an alien.

Okarun accompanies Bamora back to the house while Momo goes to work. He tries leaving many times but she stops him, saying something which he can't understand. He believes she's talking about the marriage so he expresses his love for Ayase to her. Takakura runs away in embarassment when he's ambushed by the Kur Advance Unit. Momo, alongside the temporary ally Rokuro Serpo made during the battle against the Imotako Kur, returns to the house the following morning after she had to hide from Reiko Kashima in the Kappatsu Club. She's approached by Chiquitita who says they were really worried about her since she disappeared and in the meantime, everyone got attacked. She enters the house and watches an unconscious Jiji, Aira and a defeated Kur. She quickly heads over to the alien's exosuit and pulls out a ball of human karma which is also present in Bamora's Kaiju. The Dover Demon reveals that Okarun's Kintama got stolen again and he's currently in recovery in the next room. Ayase rushes in and sees the alien girl crouching over him who she pushes away and observes Ken's terrible condition, with a tube in his mouth which forces respiration and his heart which is being assisted mechanically.

Momo accuses Bamora of being one of those aliens and demands to see her true octopus form. The language barrier causes a misunderstanding and Ayase knocks her down, informing Mr. Mantis Shrimp that the aliens knew her name and Bamora is actually a spy sent by them, also proved by the human karma ball the dead octopus had. The alien girl is forced to whip the Kaiju's tail towards Momo and she flees the house. Outside, Ayase screams at her, saying that she never wants to see her again otherwise she will murder her. She keeps throwing insults and rocks at her before Bamora activates her invisibility and leaves. Momo sheds tears and walks back when Rokuro, who observed the scene, points out her crying which she denies. He states he'll never understand humans but Ayase says the same about aliens, she claims she won't let them get away and questions Rokuro on how to find them. The Serpo informs her that the high gravity of Earth means that they'll need a base in which they can recover constantly and because they came from outer space they must be near a Kofun Burial Mound.

Later, Aira and Jiji recover while Momo gets the Dover Demon to install a techonology which will repair the hole through her arm. Shiratori wishes for Seiko to beat up the aliens however Seiko is said to be in Hokkaido and she can't be contacted. Ayase asks about the Evil Eye and Jin feels that he has zero interest in fighting, only wanting to duel Okarun. Aira wonders where Bamora is and Momo reveals she led the aliens to her and she exiled her from the house, proving her suspicions right. Meanwhile Jiji believes that the language barrier had a factor in it and she might not actually be with the enemy. The girls argue with Jiji about her true role in the story which ends up having Okarun remove the inhalation tube and beg them to get along. They are overjoyed and surround him, telling him that they are all safe now. He suddenly stops speaking and the Dover Demon reconnects the tube, stating that it must have hurt to remove it and they mustn't bicker if they want Okarun to fall asleep. The Family leaves the house, with Chiquitita running back to their farm as it is too dangerous to stay there, and they discover Rokuro's body.

They get frightened but Ayase reassures them she's just going to use him for their own benefit and informs the Serpo that Okarun's Kintama has been stolen. Rokuro's prediction is proven right and he tells the Family that the aliens are Space Globalists trying to invade the Earth with forceful methods to counter their lack in numbers. The ones who fought are an Advance Unit and the main force needs a significant amount of energy to warp there which is why they tried to attack and make use of their powers though they only got away with Okarun's ball. He predicts their arrival in five days but the main problem is if they can actually defeat them. Momo is aware and asks Mr Mantis Shrimp to pick Seiko up using his spaceship but it's revealed that it actually belongs to Ludris, whose name surprises the Serpo as he's all knowing, all powerful and it's said to be a miracle to encounter him just once. Rokuro believes that they might get attacked again to reduce the time it takes for the main fleet to warp and suggests to go to his old abandoned base to train.

Because Takakura's unconscious, Jiji has the idea of using the house's nanoskin to make a robot and move it, however no one's imagination is honed enough to do it. The Dover Demon suggests to shape it into a car and drive it but since they don't have a license yet, Momo visualizes a giant bike, with Okarun hanging from its basket. Trying to fix her mistake she accidentally transforms it into a cat and Ken is stuck in its mouth. Aira takes the lead but gets carried away while thinking of her relationship with Takakura, forming a cake, car and mouth hybrid. Mr Mantis Shrimp opts to just add wheels to the current house, relieving the team, who ends up wondering who even made the mecha last time. They hop in and drive through the city, crashing and wrecking buildings all over, catapulting back and forth the teens inside. They reach the outskirts of the city and park, revealing they are actually above the destroyed Nagi Hospital's basement.

Subsequently, Ayase calls the hotel in Hokkaido where Seiko was staying but she gets no intel. Noticing it's almost ten o'clock, to avoid Reiko Kashima she goes down in the basement to sleep before the Dover Demon asks to drive the house back to his farm to check on Chiquitita. The following morning they enter the house and prepare their breakfast, unaware of Okarun who's now in his astral body form. The boy hears the phone ring and tries to pick it up when he's suddenly sucked in and sent to Turbo Granny and Seiko who are calling from Hokkaido while fighting a monster. Meanwhile, the Family keeps training and they have a quiet dinner before the Kur Invasion. They declare they are going to kick the Space Globalists' butts and save the Earth, so they hop on the house with wheels, who the Mantis can hardly manuever and they drive off towards the city. Okarun, who has to find his body before the astral cord snaps and kills him, doesn't notice the residence slamming left and right down the hills.

Inside the moving house Momo hands Jiji a Serpo miniature device which allows them to communicate telephatically, ignoring the many loud noises during the incoming fights. Also, if the device is touched once it pops up a hologram showcasing their position, if pressed twice it switches screens and thrice to shut it off, useful for cooperating on the battlefield. Ayase also ponders if they have decided on the name of their special moves due to the power of the words explained to her by Seiko a long time ago. Aira treats it as a joke and resorts to reading magazines about hair management to prepare for battle. Just then, empty space engulfs them and the entire city, the huge warp gate already letting small UFOs through. Suddenly, they are hit by a barrage of missiles shot by the Kurs, blowing it up and officially starting the Kur Invasion.

Thanks to Reiko Kashima's aid in annihilating the alien army, empty space is closed and Momo and Okarun are found and picked up, regrouping inside the residence on wheels, happy to see everyone doing fine, with the addition of Kinta, the Evil Eye and Bamora who actually never teamed up with the Space Globalists. Back home, Seiko cooks a huge yakinibu barbecue for the entire family. They enjoy their time together after their hard fought victory. Because of the sudden flashes of Bamora's memories, Momo wonders if the sumerian girl is worried about her mom and Okarun adds that not even Serpoians possess long-range warp technology so they'll have to ask for Ludris' hand if they want to check on the Sumerians in the future. Out of nowhere, Rokuro, who had died in the Kur Invasion, walks through their front porch. The Dover Demon reveals he attached some nanoskin to him, healing him. The Serpo is amazed by Ludris' tech, however Momo is still unsure if he's on their side. Rokuro simply leaves, pissing off Ayase and making Okarun laugh. Seiko notices that there's no more curry and blames it on her granddaughter, who remembers about the love note she left to Okarun and gets heavily embarassed. She leaves to purchase it though her friends decide to come along with her.

Turbo Granny spots a Serpo Device on the ground and places it on her head, visualizing a discussion between Serpoians investigating on the Kur's whereabouts. Between the Space Globalists the infamous Count Saint Germain appears, which really infuriates the yokai who calls him Hyper Geezer.

Onbusuman Arc[]

The following day the Family goes through a football ritual to reattach Okarun's kintama. Jiji and Momo approach the Turbo Granny with the ball and she swiftly dodges the two, also passing Bamora who doesn't understand the game yet she's having fun. Seiko jumps towards the thrown object which is revealed to be a crab the cat brought from Hokkaido as Seiko has a weak spot for it. The Turbo Granny does a touchdown and Ken finally gets his ball back, making them wonder where the other one could be.

After school, Momo is angry because Okarun denied reading her love letter. Her and Turbo Granny bicker for a bit before she goes upstairs and imagines a scenario where Ken actually professes his love for her. She's interrupted by Seiko who tells her that Takakura is at the door. Momo prepares herself and walks down, hoping for him to express his feelings but she's shocked when he's carrying his injured class president Rin Sawaki. Rin is flabbergasted when she sees the Turbo Granny talk as a cat and starts fantasizing about her being a handsome vampire who would take advantage of her. She doesn't notice that she's saying her thoughts out loud like earlier with Okarun, disappointing but also making the Turbo Granny mad. Seiko hears about the yokai who attacked Sawaki and concludes that it's an Onbusman, the spirit of a child who died in infancy. If it is handled with care it can pass on to the afterlife, otherwise its loathing will grow and grow until it crushes the person it's haunting.

Momo accuses Rin of having a secret baby which she denies in embarrasment and goes on to tell them about her troublesome past and the loss of her childhood friend, Mai Kawabanga, in a car accident. Seiko theorizes that touching the golden ball has awakened her spiritual sensitivity and allowed her to feel the presence of Mai on her. She warns Rin that the Onbusman's memories will fade until only hatred is left which will inevitably kill the host. Momo can't see it even though she's focusing on her aura which her grandma points out they are cowardly creatures and they need to be driven out. She decides to take Mai to the audition venue where she died to dispel her regret and bring her out, so she contacts the Hayashi Performers and head to the gates of Kami High.

Danmara Arc[]

With the success of the Ombusman Operation, the partecipants have dinner together inside the Ayase Residence, where Mai is also present due not being able to pass on to the afterlife, appearing as a strange turtle-like spirit. Seiko reassures them that she's not dangerous anymore and she's more of a guardian spirit. Mai herself affirms that she couldn't leave the mortal realm before Rin became an idol, even though it's not Sawaki's goal anymore, and she keeps on pushing her singing talent because otherwise her life would have no purpose. Momo finds it pretty harsh however the spirit claims Rin doesn't have to befriend ordinary people like her. Rin claims that her new dream is to write light novels, specifically a romance story about a vampire and a girl, but Kawabanga brushes it off. While the two bicker, Okarun informs Ayase that Sawaki had found his Kintama and deposited it in a police box although somebody had collected it. He points out that she can help by using her aura vision and see if it's truly there. She agrees and they decide to check it out the following day.

Sawaki excuses herself for always considering her a delinquent, though Momo doesn't mind and gets Okarun to walk her home because it's dark outside. As they leave, Takakura runs back and tells her to see each other again tomorrow, blushing and staring in silence. When the two step out, Momo throws herself on her bed and reminisces about him looking deep into her eyes.

Because the Kintama is missing from the police box, Ken and Ayase return to beg for Turbo Granny's help, having her act as lost property so she can take a closer look inside and write down all the intel from the lost property database. The cat informs them that when asking a person a favor they should showcase a sign of good faith, so the duo bring her some chips and a cute plushie, finally getting her cooperation.

Due to Momo falling inside the cursed trunk, Takakura rushes back to the house to consult Seiko who's unfortunately out for work. Rin is also there and brought sweets to thank Ayase for her help with Mai's situation. Okarun asks Turbo Granny if she knows anything about a wooden box with a diorama castle inside which spirits away people and once inside they become game pieces, however the yokai refuses to help without getting something in return. Mai makes fun of the granny and they start to argue, even Bamora says that the two spirits always fight. Okarun tries with Kawabanga but again they are too busy bickering. Ken pleads the granny, promising anything in return. Intrigued, she questions him if there was a black cloth surrounding the cursed trunk which he denies. Turbo Granny is baffled by the stupidity of the person who forgot it and requests Rin to lend a hand. They all run towards the Renjaku Apartments except Bamora, who the cat hasn't seen fighting yet and considers her feeble, despite Okarun's knowing otherwise.

A couple of days after the conclusion of the Renjaku Apartments Incident, the entire Family reunites at the Ayase Residence to play one last game of baseball and end the quest to retrieve Okarun's balls. Aira asks Sakata to take a shot of Bamora who's playing as the catcher, while Jiji and a shrunk down Momo cheer everyone on. Turbo Granny serves her unbeatable league league pitch no.6 but the Kintama suddenly curves mid-air and she reveals it to be her Super ET Curse Ball, sure of her victory. Seiko, out of nowhere, lands her swing, flabbergasting all the spectators of the match and the golden ball reaches high into the sky, meaning they then have to go search for it in the fields in front of the house. Okarun thanks everyone for their help, yet he beats himself up because he couldn't protect Ayase. Momo understands but she's sure that they'll find a way to bring her back and in the meantime Aira will provide her clothing.

Turbo Granny demands that they respect the deal they made at the start of their journey, that being returning her spiritual powers once Okarun got both of his balls back. They think it's a bad move as they might be attacked again and Momo is way too vulnerable, however Ken trusts his heart and expresses his gratitude for Turbo Granny allowing him to use his powers all this time. They perform the same ritual when they first discovered the yokai hiding inside Ken and the cat walks off, manifesting her full malevolent powers in front of the family. Everyone gets scared from her bloodlust and Aira even asks Jiji to bring out the Evil Eye, yet Momo, Okarun and Seiko, who knew her since the start, silently observe her. The Turbo Granny explains that now that she got her powers back, she no longer has a reason to stay and bids farewell to the kids before leaving, a bittersweet feeling emanating throughout the house.

Current Saga[]

Kozuka Knives Arc[]

That night a small Momo tries to have a normal dinner and she's helped by Bamora who almost drowns her while giving her water because of the surface tension. Ayase is happy since her condition will allow her to skip school, though Seiko has other plans as her granddaughter is falling behind in her studies. Seiko tells her to not be seen as she might cause panic but Momo starts arguing for a bit with her until her grandma asks to see her report card, to which she accepts her fate and goes to school the next day.

The History and Culture Research Club brings Zuma, Raiya and Daiki to the Ayase Residence to consult Seiko and cure the curse of the Danmara. Unexpectedly, Manjiro is there and Jiji asks him about the Evil Eye Briefs, stating that they increased the amount of tourists at the Tsuchinoko Shrine, a showcase he was unaware of. Seiko walks out and announces she discovered how to get Momo back to normal and they all have to pack up and head to Shimane. Everyone gets excited and wants to come along, with Okarun even affirming he's going to pay for his own travel expenses. Aira and Jiji agree too and the latter heads off the property to get his stuff.

Seiko spots the three strangers and Unji points out how Daiki entered the cursed trunk when he was in seventh grade and he's now aging at incredible speeds. She decides to accompany them too and offers to pay the kids' expenses when Kinta suddenly crashes through the torii on his nanoskin hoverboard, claiming that they discovered the teacher who blackmailed Koki Yukishiro. Momo asks Seiko to delay their departure but she cannot as they have to be there in the hours of the Ox during the supermoon of the following day. Shiratori and Takakura stay behind to help the others and the boy pleads Ayase to return to normal, which she promises to do. Kinta, Aira and Okarun then rush towards Kami High.

Trivia[]
