Benzou Togari (がりへんぞう Togari Benzou?) is the strongest student/leader of Class A at Renjaku High.

Appearance[]

Benzou is a young man with a slim build, short-trimmed middle-parting dark hair and wears glasses. For attire, he wears his school's gakuran outfit.

Personality[]

Benzou is the leader of Class A and he's aware of his strength and his position above all others, confirmed by him rushing first against Toramaru, leader of Class C, and immediately crushing him on his knee. He's also seen running ahead of everyone else inside Danmara and they all follow him, proving himself as the king of Renjaku High. Due to this, he's really confident about himself and hardly speaks, preferring to settle debates with violence. Still, he usually remains composed like when he fixes his collar before the brawl or when he calmly eats at the Goro Stamina Booster.

Synopsis[]

Kintama Hunt Saga[]

Danmara Arc[]

Benzou and other students of class A get confronted by Toramaru Sodenashi, leader of class C, asking them to submit. Benzou is aware of the incoming brawl and calmly fixes his collar before rushing in and performing his signature move on Toramaru, crushing his face onto his knee, confirming himself as the strongest leader between the two and causing the others to jump in the turf war.

The delinquents put their differences aside and get transported inside Danmara with the mission of saving Unji along with Zuma's gang members. He runs in front of everyone else, basically announcing himself as the strongest while others follow after. Despite Momo's words about correct pairings against the respective enemy classes, Mao rushes in with everyone else and again deploys his signature move, destroying a warrior by sending his knee onto his face full force. With the final seal broken and the Fairy-Tale Card yokai now free who immediately tries to convince them to stay, he stares him down with malice, realizing immediately that he's very powerful.

Due to Unji getting controlled by the evil spirit and his Umbrella Boy's powers being used against them, Benzou flees the scene momentarily but returns once Fairy-Tale Card flies upward to leave the inner realm, leading in first row the pack of delinquents along his classmate Mao. Thanks to Rin and Mai's efforts, he and everyone else levitates until they reach the controlled Zuma, staring at him maliciously. Once they reappear back on Earth, he's one of the first who jump on the spirit beads to try to take him down in vain due to his sheer size. He's one of the few who survive the initial rampage caused by the yokai when he substracts the humans of either their ears, eyes or will, and he fights to protect Rin from the attackers. Just like everyone else, he's shocked about what just happened as they observe the tendrils of lights released upon the defeat of the Fairy-Tale Card.

A few days after the incident, he's invited to the Goro Stamina Booster by Seiko and he calmly eats while others are too busy staring at Seiko's beauty.
