Is This a Little Fairy? (これは小人妖精か Kore wa Kobito Yōsei ka?) is the hundred sixty-sixth chapter of the Dandadan manga series.
Summary[]
While subsisting on just a grain of rice and a few drops of water, Momo takes solace in the fact that being too small to attend school allows for a much-needed rest. However, Seiko refuses to let her fall further behind in her studies and directs her to attend school unnoticed. Although Momo thinks it would be easier to skip school, she decides to attend after managing to keep Seiko from seeing her report card when asked. She and Bamora then meet up with Okarun and Aira, with Aira finding her predicament amusing.
During class, Okarun quietly advises Momo to conceal herself better and to speak more softly while taking notes, and asks Bamora to ensure that she remains hidden at all times. Momo then becomes prompted to raise her voice to catch a male student's attention, much to Okarun's shock. However, instead of noticing her, the student thinks that Bamora was talking to him. This validates Momo's understanding of the paranormal fairy lore, which suggests that humans have lost the capacity to perceive fairies, rendering them elusive and hard to detect without a deliberate attempt to do so. Upon hearing this, Okarun accidentally exclaims that he has an idea, which leads to a scolding from the teacher, much to Momo's amusement.
As requested, Okarun has Momo and their friends meet up at the library to do some research, thinking that anything they find about fairies could help cure Momo. While doing so, Momo offers an apology for the inconvenience caused, only for Okarun to quickly reassure her that their desire to help is simply a natural response. Momo informs Okarun that Turbo Granny has not been seen at her house since she left, and that she can tell that Seiko misses her—a sentiment with which both she and Okarun empathize. After reassuring her that his kintama have returned, Okarun broaches the subject of his confession to her. Feeling flustered from being reminded of this, Momo asks to postpone addressing the confession until she is back to normal and insists that he remain faithful to her in the meantime. Okarun then questions why he should stay faithful when they are not officially dating, which greatly angers Momo as she assumes he is contemplating cheating on her. However, her anger diminishes when she spots a small figure sitting atop the bookshelf.
