Departing for Shimane (島根に出発 Shimane ni Shuppatsu?) is the one hundred ninety-second chapter of the Dandadan manga series.
Summary[]
Jiji asks Bamora if she can see Momo on her shoulder, to which Bamora responds that she does not know who Momo is, prompting Momo to try to get her attention. Jiji then tells Seiko that Momo's curse is becoming more severe. Seiko, however, looks at Jiji with confusion and touches her head, finding it difficult to remember Momo and their plan to revert her to her original size in Shimane. Following this, Raiya informs Jiji and Bamora that Unji's vision is nearly entirely lost, and that Daiki is no longer able to walk and must be carried on his back. While Bamora is instructed by Seiko to guide Unji, Jiji has Momo stay by his side, believing that his strong spiritual power is allowing him to see her and promises that he won't forget her, much to Momo's reassurance as she starts to shed tears. After Raiya tries to put Daiki's mind at ease, Daiki questions Raiya's motives for helping him, recalling their first meeting where Raiya was hostile towards him. Raiya clarifies that he mistakenly thought he was creating trouble for Unji concerning the cursed trunk and requests that Daiki not harbor resentment towards him. Daiki then asks Raiya why he is willing to go to such lengths for Unji. Raiya shares that Unji once came to his aid when he was bullied and explains that, in the past, Unji's kindness towards his friends and his desire to help others attracted troubled kids to him. At one point, Unji sees a girl about to use drugs and quickly knocks them out of her hands. He then tells Raiya to keep an eye on her to make sure she never tries it again. The girl rejects Unji's concern for her, stating that she views herself as a failure who cannot meet the expectations of her parents and others. Unji acknowledges that he cannot provide a solution to her issue but encourages her to avoid taking drugs because she belongs with his group. In the present, Raiya explains that Unji is a hero to him and the troubled kids because he overlooks their mistakes, which is the reason why they are eager to support him no matter the circumstances.
On the news, Juichi, Juhiko, and Jumanuel Kito, who were previously arrested, are reported missing after their transport vehicle was ambushed. At the airport, Naki Kito and her sons pursue Jiji and the others, using Momo’s jacket left behind during the Daija Town incident to track her whereabouts. Although Naki notices that the girl is not around, she remains confident that Momo is close by and anticipates their flight will be quite eventful.
