Smash the Typhoon's Eye! (台風の目を叩け! Taifū no me o Tatake!?) is the one hundred ninety-eighth chapter of the Dandadan manga series.
Summary[]
Momo directs Jiji to aim his Evil Gun at the eye of the Typhoon Human, while Unji is also instructed to provide assistance, as she uses her power to keep them both secured on the Mongolian Death Worm. Jiji follows the command, much to Naki's astonishment at witnessing his technique, but soon realizes that his assault was in vain when the eye regenerates. In retaliation to the attack, the Typhoon Human releases a surge of lightning towards them, which Momo foresees and instructs Naki to maneuver the Mongolian Death Worm away from the trajectory of the attack. After Jiji discovers that his Evil Gun is ineffective against the Typhoon Human, Momo recalls what Okarun mentioned about the Typhoon Human being a living cryptid and realizes that they must target the typhoon itself. She then instructs Naki to have the Mongolian Death Worm consume the frozen sharks, which leaves the elder wondering about the source of her voice. Although Naki claims that her plan will cause the Mongolian Death Worm to be weighted down, Momo reassures her that it will not matter since the objective is to dive into the eye of the typhoon. While Jiji voices his concerns regarding the danger of this plan, as approaching it will likely lead to another lightning attack, Naki voices her assumption that Momo has lost hope and is attempting to bring them down with her. Momo counters this assumption, assuring Naki that she has not lost hope and is solely focused on defeating the cryptid. She also informs Naki that she will address matters with her and her sons later but insists that she concentrate on executing her plan. Naki complies with Momo's directive to have the Mongolian Death Worm consume the sharks but clarifies that she is doing so of her own volition. As the worm descends, Jiji warns Momo of an impending lightning strike that the Typhoon Human is preparing to unleash and instructs Naki to have the Mongolian Death Worm expel the sharks. As a result, the lightning is redirected towards the sharks, missing the worm, just as Momo had planned after contemplating the principles of ice and electricity. Momo then instructs Naki to have the worm turn to navigate past the eye of the typhoon and directs Jiji to fire his Evil Gun towards the sea, explaining that the blast can stir the cold layer of seawater beneath the warm layer, thereby causing the typhoon to dissipate. Jiji praises Momo for her strategic method and fires his Evil Gun as instructed. Nevertheless, Momo observes that the blast does not possess sufficient strength to agitate the frigid seawater and asks Jiji to apply more power to his technique before the Typhoon Human launches another lightning strike. Momo then begins to panic after Naki alerts her that the Mongolian Death Worm has exhausted its supply of sharks to expel and notices the Typhoon Human approaching for its next lightning attack. Offering his support, Unji requests Futa to conjure a large umbrella to spin and enhance Jiji's Evil Gun, leading to their successful defeat of the Typhoon Human.
