The Mysterious Man (謎の男 Nazo no Otoko?) is the two hundred and third chapter of the Dandadan manga series.
Summary[]
Following his bow to Seiko, the pseudo-priest launches a powerful blow to his opponent that sends her crashing into a nearby pillar and swiftly follows up with an axe kick. Seiko narrowly manages to evade the next attack and clashes with the pseudo-priest in hand-to-hand combat. Seiko quickly recognizes her opponent's overwhelming strength and precision, noting that his attacks are aimed directly at her vital points. Despite this, she manages to analyze his movements and remarks that his attack patterns are surprisingly easy to anticipate. Seizing a moment when the priest appears vulnerable, Seiko attempts a decisive strike. However, her double punches phases right through him, as his body is revealed to be made out of smoke. The pseudo-priest then retaliates with a vicious uppercut to Seiko's chin, followed by two direct blows to her ribs, and concludes with Setta to have her sent crashing back into the wall. As Seiko suffers from the amount of damage she has taken, the pseudo-priest praises her for her battle performance against him. In response, Seiko reveals his true identity, Enenra, a smoke-based yokai. Enenra contemptuously stomps on her ribs, eliciting a scream of agony, and urges her to accept defeat, arguing that she must now realize the futility of resisting. Undeterred, Seiko mocks him, dismissing his warrior persona and calling his abilities a fraud. She then attempts to harm him with a retaliatory kick aimed at his groin, only for it to passes harmlessly through his form and provoke the yokai who counters with a kick of his own.
Down below, Momo, hears the violent commotion and grows increasingly concerned for her grandmother's safety. Meanwhile, Bamora becomes shocked to notice Momo on her head, who she mistakes for being a fairy.
With a defeated Seiko lying on the floor too injured to stand up, Enenra stands over her ribs to apply pressure, causing her to cry out. He expresses admiration for her spirit, her refusal to yield despite the agony, and reflects on the paradox of biological survival instincts versus the human capacity to defy death. With cruel curiosity to see if her conviction will break if he destroys her body thoroughly, he applies more pressure to Seiko's ribs with his feet, causing her to once again cry out in pain. Before he can proceed, Enenra is interrupted by the arrival of Evil Eye holding a defeated ninja in his hand, with the yokai expressing his irritation over being made to wait in the taxi.
