Momo's Memories (モモの記憶 Momo no Kioku?) is the two hundred and twelfth chapter of the Dandadan manga series.
Summary[]
On his way to school, Okarun practices a ki-harnessing exercise all while feeling self-conscious when classmates glance his way. He is soon greeted by Aira, who cheerfully joins in the exercise and asks what it is meant to accomplish. Okarun shifts the conversation to her injuries, and Aira assures him she is healed thanks to Queen who simply placed her hands over her wounds. Aira suspects Queen possesses healing powers, but despite the implication that this might make her an enemy, she believes Queen is an exception due to her genuine kindness, and her ability coming at the cost of a certain level of illness depending on the healing she provides. Aira then circles back to Okarun’s training and becomes prompted to playfully nudge him after learning what he is supposed to become unmovable while doing so. This moment is then interrupted by Jiji, who jokingly accuses them of flirting and expresses his joy at seeing them again after returning from Shimane. When Aira asks about Momo, Jiji reassures them that she is back to normal and gestures toward her as she approaches with Bamora. Aira beams at Momo, happy to see her restored to full size—though she admits she liked her tiny form too. Okarun warmly welcomes both Momo and Bamora back. However, when Momo casually thanks him, Aira senses something off. She points out to Momo her lack of enthusiasm and reminds her how worried they all were. Before Jiji can explain her situation, Momo abruptly asks who Aira is, leaving both her and Okarun stunned. This then leads to Momo exciting an argument with Aira for acting like she knows her, once again cutting off Jiji’s attempt to clarify. Eventually, Jiji explains to Okarun and Aira that Momo has lost all memories from the time she began spending with them. He then explains to them the events in Shimane and shares Seiko's advice in that, for now, it is best to let things be and not force her to remember.
Later in class, Momo is welcomed back by Miko and Kei, and she openly shares her condition. Jiji finds comfort in the fact that she at least remembers her two closest friends. Meanwhile, in his own classroom, Okarun rests his head on his desk, weighed down by the pain of Momo forgetting the moments they shared, especially the times she called out to him. Following break, Okarun walks the school halls with quiet determination, wanting to change things by reaching out to her instead.
