A Feeling of Distance Between Them (二人の距離感 Futari no Kyorikan?) is the two hundred and fifteenth chapter of the Dandadan manga series.
Summary[]
Momo questions Sanjome's identity, not recognizing him as someone from the school. Sanjome questions if she has forgotten him and reminds her that he is the advisor for the History and Culture Research Club. Momo accuses him of lying since she doesn't know him, but Sanjome responds by saying that even if she doesn't remember him, he knows exactly who she is. After Momo brushes off his comment and starts to walk past him, Sanjome stops her to give her a crime prevention whistle. He suggests she use it if she ever finds herself in trouble, though he admits he is not sure how much help it will actually be.
During class, Momo questions Miko and Kei about Sanjome's identity, still skeptical that he has been at the school as long as she has known her friends. Miko and Kei begin to doubt her concerns since she remembers little, especially since she has forgotten about Okarun. Momo confesses that she doesn't feel the same connection with Okarun as she did before her memory loss and feels somewhat alienated by the gaps in her knowledge. In response, Miko and Kei suggest to Momo to go on a date with him and later drag her against her will to meet Okarun, proposing a visit to the museum to see a Mummy Man.
At the museum, Momo finds the mummies on display fascinating and listens closely as Okarun shares facts about mummification, explaining how ancient royalty preserved their bodies for resurrection in the afterlife. He also presents a wild theory linking mummies to aliens, suggesting that aliens use human bodies to survive on Earth and preserve mummies for future use when they return to space. Amused by his imaginative story, Momo compliments Okarun, leaving him blushing. Soon, Momo realizes Miko and Kei have ditched them to be alone, frustrating her as she and Okarun leave the museum. When Momo tells him he doesn't need to walk her home, Okarun insists on accompanying her. Although she finds his eagerness to visit her house unsettling, he assures her it is only out of concern for her safety. This prompts Momo to ask if he has feelings for her, and when Okarun confirms, she becomes flustered. She criticizes him for being so straightforward, only to be reminded by him that she asked first. Momo counters that asking a question should not guarantee an answer, but Okarun claims he can be honest with her and suggests she likely has feelings for him too. Momo argues that he has no right to make such assumptions and questions why she would feel that way. Okarun admits to being hurt by her words and that she truly has forgotten. Momo denies having any romantic feelings for him and warns him not to misunderstand her, though Okarun remains adamant that she does care for him. This leads to Momo getting physical with Okarun for being so sure of himself and questioning why he told Aira his name and not her. Okarun interprets this as proof she has feelings for him, much to her irritation. After she stops after noticing it is suddenly nighttime, Okarun and Okarun look in the distance to see a mummy riding a bike with a katana and the Serpo charging toward them.
