Contract (契約 Keiyaku?) is the fortieth chapter of the Dandadan manga series.
Summary[]
Momo tries pulling the Evil Eye off of Jiji but is told by him to stop what she is doing after he comes to view the Evil Eye as a good person from the memories he viewed, being informed that he has been enduring and suffering for a long time. Momo then follows Jiji as he rushes down to the bottom of the cluttered generational houses where the Evil Eye's corpse is being held at, realizing that he has been protecting him while being locked down there. After making it down, Momo gets in the middle of an argument between the Turbo Granny and Jiji on whether the Evil Eye should be trusted but are then electrocuted and trapped in a phlegm by the Tsuchinoko who ceases chasing after Okarun after he strains himself. Momo prepares to make it out with Jiji but turns around to see him unconscious. Jiji finds himself facing the Evil Eye during his captivity as a child and chooses to apologize to him for not fully understanding him before and agrees to play with him like he wanted, much to the Evil Eye's happiness. As a result, the Evil Eye takes effect on Jiji as he screams in agony. Momo and the Turbo Granny then become helpless as the Tsuchinoko comes down to swallow them. However, the Tsuchinoko is attacked by the Evil Eye after he takes over Jiji's body and announces his plan to use Jiji's body to kill all humans.
