WARNING! |
Count Saint-Germain, Okarun, Rokuro Serpo, Masamichi Vega, Unji Zuma, Renjaku High School Students and Unji's Gang vs. Fairy-Tale Card is a battle that took place in the courtyard of the Renjaku Apartments. With Fairy-Tale Card breaching containment from the cursed trunk he was trapped inside for eons by utilizing Unji's Umbrella Boy powers, he goes on a violent rampage. Count Saint-Germain enters the battlefield and he later recruits Okarun and the others to take down the beast in a group effort.
Prologue[]
Okarun confessing his love to Momo.
Noticing that Vega began having an effect on Unji's mind control, the Fairy-Tale Card sets off into the sky with Umbrella Boy's ability, planning to escape the cursed trunk once and for all. With no more threats, Turbo Granny returned to the battlefield along with the delinquents and contacted Rin by making use of a Miniature Communicator taken from the Serpo. Albeit the cat had planned for Rin's guardian spirit Mai to place down the diorama on a curse resistant cloth, she refused because of their previous quarrel and instead forced her childhood friend to become an idol, giving her a costume and transforming into her microphone. The situation was already dire when Danmara started to collapse, but just then, the people inside heard Rin's singing and they all levitated upwards. For some reason Momo didn't float, shocking Turbo Granny as she realized that she had ate food from the world and had now become its citizen, meaning she couldn't leave. Turbo Granny stayed behind with Momo to hopefully give her luck through her vessel and after Okarun confesses his love to her, he departed skyward with Rokuro and Vega.
The Fairy-Tale Card was astonished to see the students from Renjaku High and the members of Unji's gang catching up to him just as they trespassed the cursed trunk's boundary, transporting them back to the Renjaku Apartments. He ditched Unji's overexerted body and after celebrating his success, he recognized Rin's potential to destroy the world and he attempted to manipulate her by mimicking her mother, grandmother and Mai. The latter amazingly sent the Fairy-Tale Card violently crashing into the apartments, claiming that she won't become his puppet. Rin opted to continue singing to rescue those still stuck inside the diorama but the yokai manifested his mouth card, preventing her from doing so and forcing Okarun, Rokuro and Vega to continue their ascent with nanoskin molded into wings.
Battle[]
Count Saint-Germain arriving on the battlefield.
The delinquents retaliate and charge at the monster to avenge Unji, with some even daring to immobilize his tentacles by sheer physical force like Toramaru, Mao and Benzou. The Fairy-Tale Card is unstoppable and plays around with the teenagers through his powers, removing the eyes of one group, taking away the ears of another and lastly estabilishing his will over a section of the fighters. The controlled humans assault those who are still taken aback by losing their body parts, starting a vicious brawl. The huge leader of Class B Minehisa Mita strangles a pair of zombies with his arm and shouts at whoever is still conscious to defend the helpless girls. Just then, the Fairy-Tale Card takes over him too and blows his way through the crowd with devastating punches, aiming for Rin. Before he can reach her, Minehisa and a couple of students are hurled to the side by Count Saint-Germain, who then swiftly collects the talismans over the black cloth and sticks them to the brainwashed teenagers, catapulting them back and rendering movement impossible. He finally presents himself to the Fairy-Tale Card, standing between him and the girls as the Black Haircutter's power emanates from his sword. The yokai praises his extended knowledge and sealing technique of the talismans he used before shifting focus on Unji. He thanks the Count for lending him the kid and his Umbrella Boy's powers which allowed him to break free from the diorama, however he demands to know why he's now standing in his way.
The Black Haircutter's power through the Asura.
The man cryptically admits that he doesn't know who he is, intriguing the yokai who claims that he's the type of person he wouldn't want to become friends with. The Fairy-Tale Card then immediately removes his eyes, laughing as he unleashes his tendrils to eliminate him. Astonishingly, the Count parries the buds with his sword even though he's blind, making the yokai freeze up in confusion. He reveals the collection of kogai under his vest and extracts one, swapping it with the kogai which was already inserted in the Asura's tsuba. By showing a tiny portion of the sword which is still sealed in its scabbard, a beam of light disperses out and the Count manifests Jumping Crone's powers, focusing it on his feet to jump incredibly high. The Fairy-Tale Card shockingly recognizes the yokai and sends a barrage of tentacled buds to stop his assault, which the man evades by summoning tiny platforms in the air to redirect himself. Once he's close enough to the demon, he switches kogai again and unleashes the Black Haircutter's cutting force, neatly slashing the mouth card in half while black sparks sprinkle off. Because of this, Rin regains her mouth but soon notices that the Fairy-Tale Card is regrowing a copy from another of his beads, removing Rin's once again. The yokai screams at his enemy, proclaiming that attacks are futile since he possesses the ability to regenerate them. He then brutally strikes the Count in the chest with a tendril, which he manages to block with his sword but he's still catapulted far away.
The Water Tiger's power through the Asura.
The minions surround the landing zone, prompting the man to insert the Water Tiger's kogai in the sword's tsuba, releasing a monumental force that razes the ground and launches the enemies far away from him. He then regains moving to dodge the countless buds thrown at him by the demon, while also deploying his army of possessed teenagers to take him down. The Fairy-Tale Card shouts that he cannot defeat him on his own even with his legendary status as the Count dashes past the kicks and punches thrown by the zombies. The yokai then reminds him that he was the one who helped him get out of the cursed trunk in the first place by sending Unji with the kintama inside his world, but he was now mysteriously targeting him and he demands to know the reason. The Count ignores him and instead states that the yokai is a fool as he was too certain of his victory that he became reckless and accidentally revealed his weakness, all the while he evades the tentacles and his minions. This enrages the Fairy-Tale Card and discharges many of his tentacles to catch him, forcing him to manuever even by running on the side of the buildings. He shrieks that he did not and it was instead Saint-Germain who exposed his weakness, combined with his lack of planning to take him down. However, the man recalls that the yokai said he couldn't beat on his own, going on a tangent about the origin of karuta cards which were grouped into pairs, coinciding with the demon's even number of cards. When the Count suggests that he if he destroys two at once they won't regenerate anymore, the Fairy-Tale Card is taken aback and tries to lie his way out while wondering if he could even do it in the first place.
Unji returning to life.
Count Saint-Germain admits that he cannot, but in that exact moment, Okarun, Rokuro and Vega finally escape Danmara, intending to request their help for the task. The Fairy-Tale Card bursts into rage upon seeing them and calls them cowards for ganging up on him as he releases another barrage of tentacles that compels the trio to run away. Okarun shouts in desperation that he has already went all-out twice and cannot use Turbo Granny's power when he's suddenly approached by the blind Count, startling him. He asks if he can cooperate to take down the monster, although Okarun wonders how he knows his name and who is he. While Rokuro converses with the Count he has recognized, Okarun searches for Rin and spots her behind a group of delinquents holding off the zombies, including Ouga, Toramaru and Benzou. Vega then notices Unji's lifeless body and rushes over through the crowd of fighters to check up on him. He freezes up when the boy shows no signs of life and he shouts in desperation not to die on him. In Unji's mind, he enjoys the peaceful sky with his little brother who soon runs over to his mother and father, waving goodbye. Unji thinks of going in their direction, but he understands the struggles they made for him to have a happy life so he turns around, walking towards life. He opens his eyes and gasps in agonizing pain while Vega is doing CPR on him, repeatedly asking him if he can hear him. Unji commands his father to stop whining, relieving the crying Vega who grips the boy's hand, declaring that they will return home together.
Okarun transforming even after going all-out twice.
In the meantime, Okarun and the Serpo continue evading the attacks and the latter releases a high-output particle beam with the nanoskin to pierce through the demon's eye card. It regenerates and the duo asks themselves if there's even a way to beat him, which prompts Count Saint-Germain to reveal his weakness and ask the boy if he can still make use of his abilities. Okarun is wary at first because he knows about his power, but as Momo's face flashes through his mind, he decides to take down the Fairy-Tale Card as soon as possible to help the love of his life escape the cursed trunk before she vanishes. In a mix of anger and determination, Okarun pushes past his own limits and transforms into his Turbo Granny form despite his conditions, which is now in a feral-like state. The Count is amazed by this feat and orders him to aim for the face while he orders Rokuro to target the eye, although he first demands to know the wage he's being paid for the job. The man makes sure to reveal it later but for the time being he tells him to await for his signal while him and Okarun attack first. They keep dodging the demon's attack and Rokuro shoots back while occasionally blocking hits with his nanoskin counter, infuriating the Fairy-Tale Card even more. Between the countless delinquents fighting each other, Unji jumps in the group effort too as he charges his umbrella while holding onto Vega. This astonishes the demon who plans to use his body to escape and he attempts once more to break into his mind so he can flee the area thanks to Umbrella Boy's speed.
The group obliterating the Fairy-Tale Card.
This time he notices that he can't enter as easily and so he reminds the boy of how his mother had tried to kill him and he should be full of hate. Unji doesn't fall for his trick and announces to the monster that she had tried with all her might to protect the lives of her family and there's no way he could hate a mother like that. The Fairy-Tale Card goes ballistic and shrieks at Unji to start hating her so he can escape in vain. Count Saint-Germain explains to his allies that the card aims to spread hate and uses it to divide and generate conflict, thus they mustn't listen to him and he orders everybody to attack all at once. The Fairy-Tale Card launches a last desperate assault with his tendrils, yet Okarun focuses all of his strength and manages to go all-out a third time in a row just so he can save Momo, blasting through the demon's face with his overwhelming speed. Simultaneously, Count Saint-Germain minces the ear card, Rokuro blows a hole through the eye card and lastly Unji obliterates the mouth card by opening his makeshift umbrella. Okarun falls back to the ground and rolls out of his transformation with blood profusely exiting his mouth and nose. He turns around and a giant tree of light shines on the fighters through the night as all the effect of the Fairy-Tale Card's ability are nullified and bring an end to the brutal battle.
Aftermath[]
Momo turning tiny after leaving Danmara.
Everybody catches their breath and appreciates the small moment of senerity while looking at the gleaming burst of energy released by the Fairy-Tale Card's death. With the demon taken down, Okarun screams Rin's name before collapsing due to the stress he just put on his body. She asks him if he's okay but he ignores his well-being and orders her to keep singing since Momo is still stuck inside the diorama. In the inner world, many hours have passed due to the time dilation between the two realms and now Momo and Turbo Granny are holding each other in fear over a vast sea of nothingness with floating rocks scattered around, slowly disappearing. The girl thanks the cat for staying by her side, compelling her to admit that she would never something so precious like her to Seiko. Turbo Granny's behavior quickly reverts to her usual self when she discovers that Momo's body is disintegrating and begs the Danmara to spare her, causing the two to quarrel. Just then, Rin resumes singing and Turbo Granny is lifted upwards while carrying Momo, realizing that Okarun has actually won. The girl's body continues to disperse and they panic, begging Rin to sing faster. Unexpectedly, Turbo Granny's size starts increasing and Momo becomes smaller and smaller compared to her. Together they escape Danmara's boundary and land on Okarun's palm, revealing in complete shock that it actually was Momo shrinking down, not Turbo Granny becoming bigger.
The Dandadan.
While this happens, the Fairy-Tale Card secretly escapes in a tiny face form when he's blocked by the Count. The yokai shakes in fear and he accepts the man's request to lend his power if he brought him out of the diorama. Count Saint-Germain tells him that he would have the spirit simply admit defeat, leaving him flabbergasted as he can't believe the man put in all that effort just for him to utter that. Nonetheless he fulfills the request and he's stabbed with a kozuka knife without warning, making the Fairy-Tale Card scream in betrayal. The Count reassures him that everything went as they had estabilished and he inserts the knife with the blood into the Asura's tsuba. Upon saying the yokai's name, the sword manifests its powers with two additional cards, representing a foot and a fist. The Fairy-Tale Card shrivels in pain and screams at him to return his power, however the mysterious man reveals his desire to know every conceivable mystery of the world and collect it, including the powers of the yokai, deeming himself a collector of the paranormal. As a final request to the defeated creature, he asks him if he's familiar with Dandadan, the thing he desires above all.
The following week, most students are recovered in the hospital and the overall incident is covered by the news as a giant brawl between the students of Renjaku High and the hoodlums using the Renjaku Apartments as their hideout. Seiko offers a massive lunch to the group of delinquents at the Goro Stamina Booster while Unji and Vega recover at the hospital.
Notes[]
It is implied that all the Renjaku High students participate in the brawl, however only a few of them are seen in combat or in the aftermath. Only those who appear are listed as fighters in the battle.
