Synopsis[]
Back to Square One[]
Okarun and Aira reuniting with Momo after she is freed from her curse.
On his way to school, Okarun quietly practices his ki-harnessing exercise, though he grows self-conscious under the curious glances of passing classmates. He is soon greeted by Aira, who cheerfully joins in and asks what the exercise is meant to achieve. Before answering, Okarun shifts the conversation to her injuries. Aira reassures him that she is fully healed thanks to Queen who simply placed her hands over the wounds. Though Aira suspects Queen may possess healing powers, she admits that she doesn't view her as a threat like their previous enemies Aira believes she is an exception due to her kindness being genuine, and her ability coming with a cost of illness the more she heals. Returning to the topic of Okarun's training, Aira playfully nudges him after learning the goal is to become completely unmovable during the exercise. Their lighthearted moment is interrupted by Jiji, who jokingly accuses them of flirting and expresses his happiness at seeing them again after his return from Shimane. When Aira asks about Momo, Jiji assures them she is back to normal and gestures toward her as she approaches with Bamora. Aira lights up at the sight of Momo, relieved to see her restored to full size, though she admits she found her tiny form endearing. Okarun warmly welcomes both Momo and Bamora home. However, when Momo casually thanks him, Aira senses something isn't right. She points out Momo's lack of enthusiasm and reminds her how deeply worried they all were. Before Jiji can explain, Momo abruptly asks who Aira is, leaving both her and Okarun stunned. The tension escalates as Momo accuses Aira of pretending to know her, cutting off Jiji's attempt to clarify once again. Eventually, Jiji explains that Momo has lost all memories from the time she began spending with them. He recounts the events in Shimane and shares Seiko's advice, which is to let things be and avoid forcing her to remember.
Later, in class, Momo is warmly welcomed back by Miko and Kei, and she openly shares her condition. Jiji finds comfort in the fact that she still remembers her two closest friends. Meanwhile, in his own classroom, Okarun rests his head on his desk, quietly burdened by the pain of Momo forgetting the moments they shared, especially the times she called out to him. After class, Okarun heads to Class B with quiet resolve, determined to reach out to rekindle his friendship with Momo by being the one to reach out to her. However, he loses confidence upon seeing her enjoying time with Miko, Kei, Jiji, and Ririna, prompting him to walk away, which Momo notices.
Hearing from Rin and Bamora that Momo is back to normal, Kinta feels compelled to approach her, believing she wants to see him. Rin, however, doubts this and suggests leaving her alone for now, but Kinta disagrees and rushes to meet her, with Bamora following, while wondering where Okarun is.

Meanwhile, Okarun, unable to approach Momo in class, spends his time shadowing her as she talks to Miko and Kei, hoping for a private moment to speak. He misses every chance and later sits on a bench, berating himself for hesitating. Remembering how Momo failed to recognize Aira, he fears she might view him the same way. As he prepares to leave, he spots Momo with her friends and instinctively hides, only to scold himself further. Eventually, he finds Momo alone and sees it as his chance to talk. Following her, he discovers she was aware of his pursuit and confronts him, asking if he has something to say to her. He fumbles with excuses about heading the same way or being sleep-deprived, but they fall apart. When Momo insists he face her, Okarun tries to escape, leading to her chasing him, putting him in a headlock, and demanding an explanation for his behavior. Realizing she has gone too far with her aggressive behavior after making him cry, Momo lets go of Okarun, though he denies crying. Momo mentions that Jiji said they were good friends, and while she doesn't remember him or Aira, she confesses she sensed his presence at her classroom door and felt relieved, believing it might be tied to their past friendship. When she gives him a chance to speak, Okarun admits they weren't good friends and tells her she doesn't need to force herself to pay attention to him. With tears in his eyes, he vows to try becoming her good friend and asks her not to talk to him. Momo then makes Okarun turn around and demands he meet her gaze, but Okarun looks away, frustrating her.
While seated together, Momo inquires about Okarun's name. He opts to use his nickname, refraining from disclosing his legal name due to prior negative reactions from her and anticipating a similar outcome. Upon requesting the origin of "Okarun," she learns it reflects his interest in the occult. During a brief pause, Okarun contemplates the emotional distance he feels from Momo despite their proximity, expressing disappointment that she does not recall their shared experiences. Momo further asks about his specific interests within the occult, to which Okarun responds that he is particularly fascinated by aliens. Perceiving skepticism in her reply, he acknowledges her disbelief but hears from her assert ting that belief is not merely a matter of personal choice, an idea they subsequently debate. In response to her challenge for evidence, Okarun references Bamora, suggesting Momo has already encountered extraterrestrial beings. Momo accepts Bamora as an exchange student from India, while Okarun notes Momo's confidence given her memory loss. As Momo requests concrete proof, Okarun proposes having Bamora reveal her kaiju suit. However, upon meeting up with her, Bamora informs them it is under repair by Mr. Mantis Shrimp. Unable to provide this evidence, Okarun suggests Momo accompany him after school to visit Mr. Mantis Shrimp's home. Momo becomes suspicious of his invitation, but Okarun assures her of his intentions to merely offer verification. She then misinterprets his motives, suspecting he intends to exploit her amnesia via occult means, which Okarun refutes, offering to introduce her to Kinta as additional evidence of alien existence.

During their meeting, Kinta falsely claims to be romantically involved with Momo, but is interrupted by Aira and Jiji before he could continue with this misinformation. Aira criticizes him as he apologizes and further reproaches Momo for doubting Okarun, prompting Momo to remark on Aira's manners, to which Aira retorts by referring to Momo as her subordinate. Subsequently, Kinta and Jiji argue about their gaming abilities, which Okarun disregards. When Momo concludes that the History and Culture Research Club lacks trustworthy people, Aira seeks updates regarding Seiko from Jiji. He informs her that Seiko remains hospitalized in Shimane, is facing another surgical procedure, and will likely stay for two to three more months. He assumes Momo must be concerned and admits to inadequate communication regarding Seiko's status. Going back to Momo, Aira attempts to prove the existence of the supernatural by demonstrating her Acrobatic Silky form as evidence. However, Momo fails to perceive this transformation, revealing to both Aira and Jiji her loss of spiritual awareness. Momo then queries whether the group has concluded, prompting Jiji to sincerely apologize and thank her for her time. While preparing to leave with Okarun, Aira intervenes, insisting he remain with her. Momo is then surprised when Aira mentions Okarun's surname. Aira suggests sharing lunch with Okarun after preparing bento boxes and expresses eagerness for his opinion. Upon learning Okarun's name, Momo recalls his earlier reluctance to share it and reflects that she finds it nothing out of the ordinary as he feared, leading her to question the nature of their friendship. Jiji affirms their connection, while Aira asserts a closer relationship with Okarun. Although Okarun confirms their friendship, he is unable to elaborate as Momo departs, believing she comprehends the situation.
Sanjome giving Momo a crime prevention whistle.
As she leaves, Momo experiences feelings of exclusion and frustration, though she cannot identify the underlying cause. Subsequently, Momo encounters Sanjome, who encourages her to discuss her concerns. Momo becomes confused about Sanjome's identity, as she does not recognize him as a member of the school. Sanjome questions whether she has forgotten him and reminds her that he is the advisor for the History and Culture Research Club. Momo accuses him of being untruthful since she has no knowledge of him, but Sanjome counters by stating that even if she does not recall him, he is well aware of who she is. After Momo dismisses his statement and tries to walk past him, Sanjome stops her to present her with a crime prevention whistle. He advises her to use it if she ever encounters trouble, although he admits he is unsure of how much assistance it will provide.
During class, Momo probes Miko and Kei about Sanjome's identity, still unconvinced that he has been at the school as long as she has known her friends. Miko and Kei begin to question her concerns since she has little recollection, especially since she has forgotten about Okarun. Momo reveals that she doesn't feel the same connection with Okarun as she once did before her memory loss and feels somewhat isolated by the gaps in her knowledge. In response, Miko and Kei propose that Momo go on a date with him and later forcibly take her to meet Okarun, suggesting a visit to the museum to see a Mummy Man.

At the museum, Momo is captivated by the mummies on display and pays close attention as Okarun shares insights about mummification, detailing how ancient royalty preserved their bodies for resurrection in the afterlife. He also introduces a wild theory that connects mummies to aliens, proposing that extraterrestrials utilize human bodies to survive on Earth and keep mummies for future use when they return to space. Amused by his creative narrative, Momo praises Okarun, causing him to blush. Before long, Momo realizes that Miko and Kei have abandoned them to be alone, which frustrates her as she and Okarun exit the museum.
Second Time's the Charm[]
When Momo tells Okarun that he doesn't have to walk her home, Okarun insists on accompanying her. Although she finds his eagerness to visit her house a bit unsettling, he reassures her that it is solely out of concern for her safety. This leads Momo to inquire if he has feelings for her, and when Okarun affirms this, she becomes flustered. She scolds him for being so direct, only to be reminded by him that she was the one who asked first. Momo retorts that asking a question shouldn't guarantee an answer, but Okarun argues that he can be honest with her and suggests that she likely has feelings for him as well. Momo contends that he has no right to make such assumptions and questions why she would feel that way. Okarun confesses that her words have hurt him and that she has truly forgotten. Momo denies having any romantic feelings for him and cautions him not to misinterpret her, yet Okarun remains firm in his belief that she does care for him. This results in Momo getting physical with Okarun for being so self-assured and questioning why he told Aira his name but not her. Okarun sees this as evidence that she has feelings for him, much to her annoyance. After she stops, noticing that it has suddenly become nighttime, Okarun and Momo look into the distance to see a mummy riding a bike with a katana and the Serpo charging toward them.

As the Serpo approach, Okarun has Momo flee with him, knowing that neither of them can use their powers for defense. When three Serpo attempt to attack Momo with the Awesome Zone, Okarun intervenes to shield her. The Serpo took note of their assault being repelled after making contact with Okarun, while Okarun notices the effects are different from the last time he was hit by the technique, attributing it to his ki training. He then recognizes that he has the Oni Club with him. Momo attempts to use the whistle given to her by Sanjome to summon help and alert the police for help, but Okarun advises her to conserve her energy as they make their way to Jiji's house to devise a strategy. The Serpo seek Mr. Dris's help in capturing the escaping pair and suggest that he should find a different body if the reason for his delay is due to the vessel he is currently using. After manipulating one of his bandages to slip under his bicycle, Mr. Dris causes the road to disappear, causing Momo and a few Serpo to fall into a dark abyss while Okarun and the other Serpo on a white space remain safe. Okarun manages to catch Momo on time and pulls her to safety. A Serpo reprimands Mr. Dris for involving them in the technique and informs him that they can capture Momo and Okarun dead or alive. When Momo inquiries about their adversaries, Okarun cautions her that they are aliens, although she is skeptical of his claim, pointing to the mummy on the bicycle. Using the Oni Club, Okarun slightly manages to block Mr. Dris' swift sword strike and uses his ki to transform it into a batting weapon.
