The Cursed House (呪いの家 Noroi no ie?) refers to the residence owned by the Kito Family, who rented it out to unsuspecting families for the purpose of offering them as human sacrifices to the Tsuchinoko that lurked beneath its foundations.

The residency is a two-story modern house, primarily white with dark gray accents around the windows, roofline, and balcony railing. The first floor features large, dark-framed windows with a paneled design, and a dark-colored front door is recessed under a small, dark gray, tile roof. A second-floor balcony is visible, and the exterior wall below it is finished with a grey stone-like material. Potted plants of varying sizes and types are neatly arranged along the front walkway. A small, metal mailbox and what appears to be a bicycle rack are secured to a metallic post on the side of the path. Notably, there is a white square structure on the right side of the house that contains the secret room. The house is surrounded by a dense forest of trees.

Tsuchinoko's Lair[]
The Tsuchinoko's lair.
Beneath the current structure lies a layer upon layer of former residences, each built for a sacrificial family lured into renting the home. These generational dwellings were constructed atop one another, forming a grim architectural tomb. At the lowest level rests the ancient altar, where the corpse of the Evil Eye is entombed. This hidden chamber also serves as the lair of the Tsuchinoko.

History[]
Past[]
In ancient times, the site where the house now stands was once a sacrificial altar used to offer village children to the Tsuchinoko in a desperate attempt to appease its hunger and prevent the eruption of Byakuja Village's volcano. Over time, the Kito Family transformed the altar into a residence, using it as a façade to lure unsuspecting families into becoming the next offerings. With each generation, the Kito Family buried the remnants of the previous structure and built a new house atop the old. This cycle of sacrifice gradually formed a man-made hill, beneath which the Tsuchinoko made its lair.
Amid this legacy of bloodshed, the spirit of one sacrificed child became tethered to the location of his death, observing in despair as families fell victim one after another to the Kito Family. This led to him transforming into the Evil Eye, a yokai driven by a desire for retribution against those accountable, as well as inflict harm on any human he encounters once he has secured an appropriate vessel.
Upon the Enjoji family's moving in, the Evil Eye appeared before the son Jiji, deeming him to be the vessel he needed to possess. After this encounter, along with his parents falling ill shortly thereafter, Jiji came to the realization that the house was haunted and sought the assistance of spirit mediums in an attempt to expel the Evil Eye. Unfortunately, each spirit medium ultimately took their own life, a consequence of the Tsuchinoko's suicidal influence. Although Jiji's parents also succumbed to the effects of this power, he managed to save them from the same tragic fate as the spirit mediums. Jiji then turned to Seiko Ayase for help in exorcising the Evil Eye he believed to be the source of their troubles.

Cursed House Arc[]
The Kito Family preparing to offer Momo, Okarun, and Jiji as their latest sacrifices.
After returning to the house with Momo Ayase, who had been tasked by Seiko to fulfill the request Jiji gave her, Momo began investigating the property for signs of paranormal activity, accompanied by her friend Okarun. Finding no immediate trace of spiritual presence, she decided to use the downtime to visit the nearby hot springs, leaving Okarun with Jiji. While passing the time, Okarun and Jiji played a brief game of soccer, during which they noticed an unusual structure along the side of the house. Their curiosity led them to uncover a hidden room concealed within it. Before they could explore further, they were confronted by the Kito Family. The landlords then assaulted Momo upon her return and revealed their intent to offer her and her companions as the next sacrifices to the Tsuchinoko.

Both Momo, Okarun, Jiji, and the Kito Family end up being sent down into the Tsuchinoko's lair after entering the hidden room, with the creature perceiving both groups as its prey after devouring the worshipping Kito Family. As the monstrous Mongolian Death Worm prepared to devour Momo, Okarun, Turbo Granny, and Jiji, the Evil Eye appeared to confront it and led Jiji to its corpse below where he succeeded in possessing him. With his newfound host, the Evil Eye launched an assault on the Tsuchinoko, forcing it to retreat underground after suffering considerable damage, while also targeting Momo and Okarun. Momo managed to escape the lair with Okarun's help and devised a plan to lure the Tsuchinoko to the surface and have it succumbed to desiccation from the ultraviolet radiation of the sun by setting the house ablaze, hoping the arrival of firefighters and their hoses would soak the ground and create a flood underground that would drown the creature. Meanwhile, Okarun engaged the Evil Eye in a fierce battle and ultimately defeated him. However, he and Turbo Granny end up becoming trapped inside the lair after falling into the Tsuchinoko's thick, adhesive phlegm.
Momo destroys the house and attacks the Tsuchinoko.
With the arrival of the firefighter, Momo's strategy was successful as the Tsuchinoko was compelled to emerge from the house. As it began to dry under the sun, the Tsuchinoko sought refuge behind the remnants of the house to shield itself from the sunlight. Realizing this, Momo utilized her psychic powers to hurl a fire truck at both the house and the Tsuchinoko, sealing the fate of the Mongolian Death Worm. Later, Momo returned to the house to rescue Okarun. Upon her arrival, she found that the lair had been filled with magma, raising her concerns for Okarun's safety. Fortunately, Okarun and Turbo Granny were rescued after Chiquitita employed his father's ship to lift a chunk of giant rock they were confined in, covered in the Tsuchinoko's phlegm which kept them protected from the magma.
