Cursed Objects (呪物 Jubutsu?) are items imbued with a type of curse, resulting in a misfortune being afflicted to an individual if they come into possession of said item.

Overview[]

Cursed objects are typically formed through the negative influences of a yokai; either by prolonged contact with the spirit or through deliberate modification for an unknown purpose. Other methods of an object cursed or cursing remain unknown. These curses may be self-contained, activating only when triggered by human interaction or manifest autonomously. As noted by Payase, a cursed object collector, the misfortune caused by these objects does not physically damage the cursed item itself, nor does it affect other cursed objects nearby.

A typical approach to safely handle cursed objects is containment. Placing the item inside a sealed container, such as a box, or wrapping it in cloth can prevent the curse from "leaking" or affecting its surroundings. This method also facilitates safer transportation and storage.

The Evil Eye's briefs.

The Evil Eye's Briefs (邪視のブリーフ Jashi no Burīfu?) are the undergarments that were once worn by the Evil Eye after his possession of Jiji, containing the grudges which allowed the yokai to produce the cursed house and the grudge ball. After agreeing to a deal with Okarun to only fight him and no one else, the briefs were discarded by the Evil Eye and given to Manjiro to put on display at his shrine as a cursed object, reason being that they, according to the yokai, refused to comply with its wearer.

The Danmara (ダン) is a cursed trunk (のろいごう Noroi gouri?) meant to lock away the yokai known as the Fairy-Tale Card. Upon being sealed by a European sorcerer, the Fairy-Tale Card created a dimension from within the cursed trunk, modifying it into a board game that acts as a portal to his realm if anyone comes in contact with it.

The Asura (阿修螺 Ashura?) is a cursed sword that is said to influence its wielder into using it to commit mass murder until their last breath. In addition, it possesses the unique ability to siphon powers from yokai.

Count Saint-Germain is the current wielder of the Asura, with the man shown being unafflicted by its influence and in control of his actions when wielding the blade in its scabbard in battle. Following his possession, the sword was used to manufacture kozuka knives and kogai that share the same attributes as the weapon, minus the curse.
