Synopsis[]
Jiji's transformation into Evil Eye intensifies. The group tries to exorcize Evil Eye from Jiji's body with a Hayashi performance. They invite the Hayashi and almost succeed in pushing Evil Eye out, but Jiji pleads with them to not kill Evil Eye...
Plot[]
Late at night, the Evil Eye is unleashed when Jiji inadvertently washes his hands with cold water, triggering a rampage that damages the Ayase household. Momo manages to restore Jiji to normal by splashing him with hot water, but Aira quickly scolds him for his carelessness. While tending to Okarun, who was injured during the attack, Momo confides in Seiko about the need to keep Jiji constantly vigilant, prompting Seiko to worry that the house might be in ruins by morning. Soon after, the group is approached by a mysterious group. Mistaking them for intruders, Seiko drives them off. A brief argument follows between Momo and Aira over who should take command of the situation. Just then, the unfamiliar group returns and reveals themselves to be the hayashi, the musical troupe hired by Seiko, much to everyone's shock. Once the ritual is set, the hayashi begin their performance to exorcise the Evil Eye from Jiji, with their music resonating not only with Momo, Okarun, Aira, and Seiko, but also with the nearby spirits.
As the exorcism begins to take effect, Jiji suddenly cries out, begging everyone to stop. Seiko instructs Momo to restrain him with her psychic powers, which unexpectedly has Momo receive a glimpse into the Evil Eye's past memories. Jiji pleads for the ritual to end, expressing how much he pities the Evil Eye upon knowing his tragic past and vows to be more careful around cold water. Moved by Jiji's sincerity, Seiko extinguishes the ritual bonfire with a fire extinguisher and informs the hayashi that the exorcism is canceled. She then announces that she will welcome the Evil Eye into their "family". Aira protests, arguing that keeping Jiji in check would be too much trouble. In response, Okarun steps forward, offering to take responsibility and grow stronger for Jiji's sake, calling him a friend. Inspired by Okarun's resolve, Momo also commits to improving herself. Aira, unwilling to be left behind, reluctantly agrees to join them. As Momo and Aira bicker and Jiji moves to hug Okarun in gratitude, Seiko notices the rain beginning to fall and urgently calls for the trio to prepare their hot water, only for it to be too late as the Evil Eye awakens and punches Okarun straight into the house. With the exorcism officially called off, the hayashi pack up to leave, telling Seiko and Momo to reach out if they ever need help again. Momo, frustrated by the damage to the house, replies that they might be calling sooner than expected. Wanting to avoid freezing inside, Seiko instructs Momo to grab some cardboard from the supermarket to act as walls. Later, Seiko starts training Jiji on how to control his ki by having him sit in a seiza posture, explaining that he will be able to manage the Evil Eye if he can tap into his ki and unlock his spiritual power.
Waking up to find Jiji gone to the bathroom, Okarun stands guard outside in case the Evil Eye reemerges if Jiji washes his hands with cold water. After giving Momo reassurance that everything is okay, he escorts Jiji back to his room and carefully helps him avoid the damp cardboard lining the walls, which has been loosened by the evening dew. Jiji apologizes for the trouble, but Okarun gently reassures him that it was no burden. He then tells him how Seiko and Momo cared for him during his own ordeal with Turbo Granny, and how Seiko once refused to accept his hard earn money out of gratitude, telling him to repay her by helping someone else in need. With this moment, he admits to wanting to follow her example.
The next morning, after sharing breakfast with the group and heading to school with Okarun and Aira, Momo tells Miko and Muko about her plan to take a part-time job to save up for house repairs. Muko suggests she apply at Ririna's restaurant, which happens to be hiring. Later, Miko and Muko drop by Okarun's classroom to update him on Momo's new job and whisk him off to a maid café, much to his objection. Upon entering, Okarun is caught off guard by the sight of Momo in a maid uniform, visibly flustered. Momo, equally surprised to see him, shares his embarrassment in a moment of mutual awkwardness.
