Personality[]

As a subordinate to the Serpos, the Flatwoods Monster executed the tasks assigned to it. It was particularly tenacious in attempting to retrieve Momo and Okarun's 'banana organs,' deeming them dishonorable humans for not fulfilling their "promise" to the Serpos. In addition to its resemblance to a sumo wrestler, the alien also imitated the movements of one, and interestingly, its weakness for touching the ground with its hands aligns with the same sumo rule that dictates a sumo wrestler's defeat. Despite this, however, it did not respect the rules of the game, as it pretended like it was still in the game after Momo and Okarun made its hand touch the ground.

Background[]

The alien was first sighted in the town of Flatwoods in Braxton County, West Virginia and went on to become known as the "Flatwoods Monster". At some point, the alien came to Japan and had been reported to have been sighted in the Yamanashi Prefecture.[1]

Synopsis[]

Turbo Granny Arc[]

The Flatwoods Monster defeated (Anime)

The Flatwoods Monster defeated by Momo and Okarun.

Following Momo and Okarun's escape from the Serpos, the Flatwoods Monster was tasked with retrieving their banana organs. With Momo removing the protective talisman on the torii gate earlier to let Okarun into her house, the Flatwoods Monster becomes able to enter as well and rings the doorbell, which sounds the ominous chime for evil spirits, alerting Momo and Okarun of its ominous presence. Along with Empty Space being erected with a wall to block their escape, the Flatwoods Monster releases its harmful mist to envelope the area and commences its assault on Momo and Okarun, demanding for them to give their banana organs to it. Okarun, after transforming and gaining Turbo Granny's extraordinary speed with the assistance of Momo using her psychic power to suppress his curse from his head, confronts the colossal alien and manages to bite off all the fingers from its left hand. The Flatwoods Monster then takes damage to its right leg after Okarun launches himself, and loses his right arm after it disintegrates from Momo forcing his body to drop down with her psychokinesis, with the girl having figured out its weakness to touching the ground with its hands based on its sumo appearance. Nevertheless, the Flatwoods Monster manages to stabilize itself by sprouting legs from its back. It then retaliates by seizing Momo, slamming her against the wall near the torii gate, and unleashes a flurry of punches. Despite her injuries, Momo reveals that she deliberately let the colossal alien pummel her against the wall in order to have it create a hole deep enough for her and Okarun to end up outside the torii gate, enabling her to use her psychic power to lure him to her location and place the talisman back on the gate, resulting in the Flatwoods Monster's defeat as its body begins to burn to ash from the talisman's effects.[2]
