WARNING! |
Humans (人間 Ningen?) are the dominant race of planet Earth.
Overview[]
As with all life forms in the universe, humans are mortal beings, living their lives until they inevitably die from various factors. However, they are a race who are capable of existing even in death. Humans who die either pass over to the afterlife or transition to becoming invisible entities who roam amongst the living known as spirits. This transformation is often triggered when a person dies with lingering regrets, typically associated with a tragic cause of death. A shared commonality of both the living and the deceased is that their existence is sustained by a form of energy called an aura. All humans also have the dormant spiritual energy known as ki (気).

Overall Strength[]
Humans are naturally born weak in terms of physical strength but can enhance their bodies through sufficient training. In rare cases, some humans are capable of achieving superhuman feats of strength. To date, the Ayase family is the only known group to exhibit such abilities, with the young Momo Ayase demonstrating remarkable resilience against powerful blows that would typically inflict severe injuries on an ordinary person, and Seiko Ayase having once struck the Evil Eye with her bat with such force that he left a crater in the ground. Humans have created numerous martial arts disciplines for self-defense and weaponry use as a means of compensation. Additionally, most humans can acquire or borrow powers from beings like deities or spirits.

Beliefs[]
Throughout history, humans have developed multiple belief systems and religions. These often revolve around deities they consider to be protectors or creators of the universe. Religious practices vary, but many include daily rituals such as prayers or meditations. In times of crisis, humans tend to seek comfort in their beliefs, relying on divine intervention or their own capabilities to overcome adversity. Ironically, while some humans reject the existence of a supreme being, many still find purpose or meaning in actions that reflect universal values, such as compassion and hope.
Human evolution, including their expansion to different parts of the world, is also the subject of myths and stories passed down through generations.
The majority of humans are completely skeptical of things that are infrequent in normal life, such as spirits, extraterrestrial life, sighted mythical or legendary creatures, supernatural abilities, etc. These phenomena are marked down as being within the realm of the paranormal. Those who believe in such things are subjected to ridicule and mistreatment as outcasts.
