Danmanra Arc[]

He and his gang chase after Daiki Hakono when Momo and Okarun suddenly protect the man, the latter showcasing his Turbo Granny powers when the leader swings his bat against Ayase. The group is shocked as he resembles Unji and Momo asks if they have touched a golden ball and if they are friends with Zuma. The boy refuses to answer and threatens to hurt them if they don't hand over the old man. He soon gives up as it's not in his moral code to fight women and brings the three of them to the hideout, where the diorama is found. He explains how Unji is in there and they want to throw Daiki in to bring him back as he was in there in the first place.

He reveals how he actually wanted to swap places with the girl but Zuma denied him and everyone else. He also informs Momo that Zuma was researching into the diorama as he thought it was a cursed object when he was approached by a mysterious person who gave him the Kintama, claiming it was needed to destroy the world inside the cursed wicker trunk. However, it had been over a week since he entered and tension rises again as they try to force the man back into the diorama. Momo gets accidentally pushed inside and instantly transported in the alternate reality, inducing fear into everyone. Okarun sees Ayase's figurine moving and realizes that it's actually a game, to which the boy points out they had actually tracked Zuma's for a couple of days until it disappeared, leading them to believe he was in serious trouble.

The leader announces to the gang that they are going to enter the diorama and progress together like Zuma and Momo are currently doing but Okarun confronts his decision, claiming it's a cursed object and they might get stuck inside too. He suggests to wait for Seiko's help but the points out Ken's close relationship with Ayase and how he's just going to risk her life by not taking action. Meanwhile, he and his squad are ready to jump in and save Zuma's, but he understands Okarun's point of view and lets him do as he wants. The boy calls over the other members to prepare for the mission while Ken activates his power and rushes towards the Ayase Residence.

Unji and Momo almost get overwhelmed during the final battle against the castle's army when the boy, his gang and the entire Renjaku High School save them from the enemy. They buy enough time for the duo to get inside the castle and destroy the final seal, completing the game. Turbo Granny, who got inside the cursed trunk with Okarun, orders the kids to close their eyes since the now released Fairy-Tale Card has the power to take over anyone who looks at him. The yokai points out how the world he created inside the diorama is way better than the one they came from, where most of the kids are rejected by society and treated like garbage, which makes the boy remember the time he got assaulted as a kid and scarred with a knife. He opens his eyes and gets possessed by the Fairy-Tale Card who makes him run towards Zuma and swing his weapon at him, forcing him to open his eyes too. The yokai is then able to brainwash him and utilize his Brella Boy powers to their full potential.

Rin utilizes Mai's gravitational powers outside of the cursed trunk to lift in the air all of the figurines, which applies to them inside the Danmanra dimension too. The Fairy-Tale Card is surprised to see them flying next to him and the boy, along with many others, call out for Zuma to take back control. They are finally transported out of the diorama back to Earth but the yokai escapes too, leaving Unji's strained body. The leader and a couple of students assist him who notice he's not breathing and rush to call an ambulance for him. At the end of the fight, he helps an injured Daiki to stand back up.

A couple days later, he and Zuma's closest friends visit him in the hospital, happy to see him recover, but he tells them to keep quiet to avoid disturbing the other patients.

Kozuka Knives Arc[]

The Renjaku High School students block the gate of Kami High in search for Momo Ayase. After Zuma reconnects with the girl after all that happened, the boy accompanies a really old Daiki who's aging at an unnatural speed, hoping to seek for Momo's knowledge of a cure. They decide to consult Seiko and walk home together, despite Jiji and Aira being on bad terms with Unji after they believed he was another pawn of the Orchestrator seeking to hurt Ayase. Inside the Ayase Residence they are introduced to Seiko, who they struggle to believe is a granny, and show her Daiki's condition, to which she suggests to come along in their trip to Shimane as he may have been cursed just like Momo.
