WARNING! |
He was a Kur and a member of his race's Advance Unit.
In Dandadan, he serves as a major antagonist during the Space Globalists Arc.
Appearance[]
The Kur had never been seen outside of his exosuit. Nonetheless, being a Kur, he was presumed to share the octopus-like physiology characteristic of his species.
Personality[]
The Kur, like many of his brethren, cared little for the lifeforms in the cosmos. He was quite observant and ruthless when engaging his targets, which included being suspectable to mockery if they displayed any signs of cowardice against him. He took joy battling in his exosuit, especially against formidable opponents, as it gave him the opportunity to unleash his weapon's full potential. Confident in his own exosuit's capabilities, he was quick to downplay any advantages his opponent insisted they have over him. This overconfidence, as a result, made him reckless. Even after his exosuit took damage from a punch by Mr. Mantis Shrimp transitioning into his Dover Demon Strong Style Twenty-Four form, and despite being warned of his opponent's superior strength underwater, the Kur recklessly threw another punch and was ultimately defeated by a counterpunch.
Background[]
The Kur participated in his species' invasion of Sumer, most notably being among the select few assigned to guard the hundreds of Sumerian men gathered as offerings for a Big Mama.[1] Following a revolt from the male Sumerians, sparked by the intrusion of Bamora, Banga, Tome, and Aja in their attempt to reach the warp gate pyramid and leave Sumer, the Kur and his team entered the pyramid to find Banga using the warp gate to send Bamora to Earth.[2]
Synopsis[]
Kintama Hunt Saga[]
Space Globalists Arc[]
Upon reaching Earth in search of Bamora, the Advance Unit encountered the Serpo at their base and initiated an attack on the aliens. After discovering data about Momo, Okarun, Aira, and Jiji, who are linked to their target and identified as potential optimal energy sources for activating a warp gate to call forth their main force, the unit divided to ambush each of them separately.[3]
The Advance Unit launching an assault on Okarun.
The Kur member joins Hastur's team to pursue Okarun, while the others focus on Momo, Aira, and Jiji. After they track him down on the road as he was leaving the Ayase residence, the team launches an attack against the human to acquire his kintama as a power source for their warp gate.[4][5] While he and the other members of his team prove to be no match for Okarun, Hastur and the jet booster exosuit member manage to inflict enough damage to incapacitate him. After achieving their mission in extracting Okarun's kintama, the team prepares to make their leave with the human as well.[6] However, upon Mr. Mantis Shrimp's sudden arrival to rescue Okarun, Hastur decides to have his team depart without him, but not before giving a warning to the alien.[7]
The Kur clashing against the Family during the invasion.
After obtaining Okarun's kintama to energize their warp gate and summon their main force, the mantis exosuit wielder, Suda Ko, Ta Komeshi, Takonoka Ru Patcho, Ta Kowasa stand guard against any intruders in their Empty Space. Upon the Family's arrival, the team launch an attack on their vehicle.[8] However, Momo, Aira, Jiji, Mr. Mantis Shrimp, and Rokuro escape the wreckage unharmed and engage the Kur in combat. The mantis exosuit Kur clashes with Mr. Mantis Shrimp with his laser blades but is repelled back with a punch from him after his opponent dodges his slashes.[9] Their confrontation continues, with the mantis exosuit Kur managing to land his slashes until he is interrupted by Aira who throws a car his way and many more. He then gains assistance from Takonoka Ru Patcho after his ally destroys the cars with his missiles. The tide turns in the Kur's favor as the mantis exosuit Kur overpowers Mr. Mantis Shrimp with his laser blade slashes, Ta Komeshi's restraining and weakening Aira with his shockwave field, and Suda Ko, Takonoka Ru Patcho, and Ta Kowasa targeting Jiji while he is left vulnerable.[10]
The Kur defeated by Mr. Mantis Shrimp.
The Kur resumes his battle with Mr. Mantis Shrimp, who had been briefly unconscious, their clash carrying them to a nearby river and away from the others. The Kur commends Mr. Mantis Shrimp for his resilience and states this as being a good thing since he can utilize his exosuit's functionality to its fullest. Watching Mr. Mantis Shrimp retreat toward the river, the Kur initially sees this as a sign of cowardice but quickly understands that his opponent is strategically moving the fight to a setting where he has the advantage. In response, the Kur activates the Underwater mode of his exosuit and confidently tells Mr. Mantis Shrimp that he is a hundred times stronger in water, a claim that is proven true as he overpowers Mr. Mantis Shrimp in their underwater battle with his enhanced speed and strength. Knowing that slashing and striking attacks won't be enough to defeat him, the Kur resorts to using his exosuit's venomous needle. While injecting his opponent with the venom, the Kur is taken aback when his exosuit takes damage from Mr. Mantis Shrimp throwing a punch. He then watches as Mr. Mantis Shrimp transforms and learns that in his new form, he becomes twenty-four times stronger, and when underwater, his strength increases tenfold. The Kur dismisses this as an absurd calculation and prepares to throw a punch. Fully transformed, Mr. Mantis Shrimp unleashes his Jet Punch, completely shattering the Kur's exosuit. The fight then concludes with the Kur caught in his suit's explosion as Mr. Mantis Shrimp walks away to rejoin his allies.[11]
