Mao Kurogami (くろかみ Kurogami Mao?) is the second strongest student in class A at Renjaku High.

Appearance[]

Mao wears the complete school's uniform and has long, dark hair which falls down his face and reaches his shoulders. A couple hair strands partly cover his usually distant and serious face, compared to when he's brawling and his eyes turn white with rage.

Personality[]

He hardly speaks and he's probably depressed, due to him not maintaining his hair, keeping a distant look and also because he deeply reflected about his life when the Fairy-Tale Card questioned them if they wanted to return to their pitiful lives back in an awful society or remain in Danmara.

Synopsis[]

Kintama Hunt Saga[]

Danmara Arc[]

Mao and other students of class A get confronted by Toramaru Sodenashi, leader of class C, asking them to submit. This obviously makes a turf war break out and Mao jumps in, landing his knee in the jaw of one of the enemy students.

The delinquents put their differences aside and get transported inside Danmara with the mission of saving Unji along with Zuma's gang members. Despite Momo's words about correct pairings against the respective enemy classes, Mao rushes in with everyone else and performs his signature move, kicking a warrior in the face and sending him flying. With the final seal broken and the Fairy-Tale Card yokai now free who immediately tries to convince them to stay, he looks down, defeated, pondering about the way he's living and reflects if he should remain in Danmara due to him being treated like garbage in the real world.

Due to Unji getting controlled by the evil spirit and his Umbrella Boy's powers being used against them, Mao flees the scene momentarily but returns once Fairy-Tale Card flies upward to leave the inner realm, leading in first row the pack of delinquents along his classmate Benzou. Thanks to Rin and Mai's efforts, he and everyone else levitates until they reach the controlled Zuma, staring at him maliciously. Once they reappear back on Earth, he's one of the first who jump on the spirit beads to try to take him down in vain due to his sheer size. He's one of the few who survive the initial rampage caused by the yokai when he substracts the humans of either their ears, eyes or will, and he fights to protect Rin from the attackers.

A few days after the incident, he's invited to the Goro Stamina Booster by Seiko and he calmly eats while others are too busy staring at Seiko's beauty.
