A shrine in Shimane that serves as a base for an unknown religious group.

Overview[]

Exterior[]

The shrine is a traditional Japanese structure with a slanted roof and detailed ornamentation. Above and below the shrine is a large, radiating sun-like symbol. From the shrine is a long, steep staircase that descends down with railings on either side and two large torii gates adorned with shimenawa. The shrine appears to be in a cavernous space with stalactites hanging from the ceiling.

The indoor space is a ceremonial hall featuring a pool right below a large stalactite protruding from the ceiling, along with other smaller ones spreading, and an opening view in the back.

Shimane Arc[]

After tracking down Momo Ayase, who had been shrunken down even further because of her curse, the religious group took her to the shrine where they helped to lift her curse using the indoor pool and the Uchide-no-Kozuchi.[1]

Trivia[]

  • The shrine gives reference to the Honden of Izumo Taisha, the main sanctuary of Izumo Taisha.
