Medusa (メドゥーサ Medūsa?) is one of the three guardian deities in Danmara keeping the Fairy-Tale Card locked away. In accordance with the functionality of the dimension, her defeat leads to not only the yokai's seal being broken, but also players acquiring the Rock-hard Costinus (カチンコチンコスティヌス Katinkotinkosutinus?) card where they can utilize her skills.

In Dandadan, she serves as a minor antagonist during the Danmara Arc.

Appearance[]

Her skin is made of stone and she has a long, serpentine body. She has a huge mouth with a sharp set of teeth, her eyes are constantly looking upwards as if she was possessed and fifteen snakes are stuck to her head, replacing her hair.

Danmara Arc[]

Momo and Unji defeat Medusa

Medusa is melted by Momo and Unji.

Momo and Zuma tried to pierce Medusa's stone body with the Dark Knight sword and failed, leading to a vertical chase on a huge tower. Unji still has to recover his yokai powers, so they decide to jump off the tower and escape, however the guardian easily bites in the air a bunch of candies thrown to test the waters. Immediately Medusa changes color and the duo realizes that not only players can use the sweets' powers, but also creatures of Danmara. They throw another candy in her mouth, rendering her all sticky and slowing her down, then Momo brings out a bag of chips which she brought from the outside world and they set her on fire. Seeing her stone skin finally melt, the two jump off towards her and deal the finishing blow.

Upon spotting a frog inside Ice Town which they can't recognize as ally or enemy, they pull out the newly obtained card of Medusa, which turns them into stone and helps to protect their body. This doesn't prove effective as the frog doesn't bother to attack them.

Abilities and Powers[]

Natural Abilities[]

Hardened Body: She's made of stone and can easily tank most of the attacks thrown against her, also shown when Zuma and Momo try to pierce her using the Dark Knight's equipment and fail. She can also resist being set on fire for a short period of time before finally starting to melt. Her serpentine body allows her to wrap herself to buildings and avoid falling.

Low Reaction Time and High Speed: She's fast enough to impede Momo and Zuma jumping off the tower as she was seen immediately eating a candy mid-air.

Card Conversion[]

Image Card Name Skill and Description HP Card Type
Rock-hard Costinus Medusa: Players are able to turn their bodies into stone, increasing their defense against attacks at the cost of their mobility being reduced. 8000 Crush/Hard
