Kozuka Knives Arc[]
At some point, Adachi affiliated herself with a mysterious person who was willingly to grant her a wish in exchange for her helping him collect yokai powers using Asura knives. Upon accepting, Adachi was partnered up with a working man to target Seiko Ayase at Juicy Gyoza Manufactory Dandadan. Before leaving, she interacted with female student Koki Yukishiro.
After tracking down Seiko, Adachi deployed her jiangshi to engage the spirit medium while remotely controlling them from a distance outside the restaurant. When the confrontation ended in her partner's defeat, Adachi wasted no time fleeing the scene and heading back to Kami High. Upon her return, she was intercepted by Murakami, who questioned her whereabouts. Adachi smoothly covered her absence by claiming she had been taking care of her mother. Murakami then extended an invitation for her to join the staff at a basketball singles mixer, but she respectfully declined. Once she distanced herself from him, Adachi takes out her phone to check the message she had sent to the orchestrator, informing them of her failure to complete the mission, and summons her jiangshi behind her.
Later, Adachi is offered by Murakami financial support for her mother in exchange for accompanying him to his apartment. After accepting, Adachi finds herself coerced into wearing a provocative bunny outfit to satisfy her coworker's inappropriate desires, leaving her deeply humiliated. Despite complying with his demands, Murakami chastises her for her somber expression, warning that he will withhold his support unless she adjusts her demeanor. As he returns to his training, Adachi discreetly clutches a talisman behind her back, concealing her true intentions. Later, Murakami pushes her on the couch to indulge in his fantasies, however Adachi is determined and secretly manifests the jiangshi behind him. She offers to buy as much time as possible so the creatures can strike when his guard is lowered due to him possessing an unknown power. A fly interferes in the plan and Murakami turns around, noticing both the jiangshi and the swarm of bugs unconsciously controlled by Koki while they are fighting his Severed Head Dribblers. The flies engulf him and forcefully enter his body from every orifice. Adachi is shocked but doesn't waste time and pulls out a black kozuka knife and demands him to yield. He initially hesitates but he grabs the knife and admits defeat, leading to his powers getting stripped. He falls to the ground and asks for help so Adachi and the jiangshi intervene out of pity to save the man from the swarm when he's suddenly launched out of the window and brought to the gym of Kami High where Koki, Mai, Rin and Aira were just fighting in.
Adachi, now in possession of Murakami's powers, contacts the Orchestrator and she's instructed to meet a subordinate of theirs at the embankment under the overpass. She meets a strange looking businessman and she quickly gets anxious. She suddenly receives a call from the Orchestrator who informs her that even though she had been working hard, Murakami was on their side and they did not classify him as a target. They question why she attacked him and she states that she had felt his spiritual energy and believed he had powers of his own too. They informed her that the Lord of the Flies power user did all the job and they order Adachi to hand in the kozuka knife to the man in front of her, in addition to the powers she were given previously. Adachi begs to keep them when the mastermind affirms that to steal a power, the surrender of the enemy must come deep within their heart which is especially undecipherable and mysterious. Because they are targeting a very strong person who is likely in possession of an ID Cosmos, they would have to ambush and hurt the people close to them like friends and relatives to make their heart tremble. The Orchestrator is aware that Adachi wouldn't willingly commit those acts and as she keeps begging to keep contributing to the mastermind's schemes in order to cure her ill mother, the businessman pushes her down and repeatedly strikes her with his luggage, demanding her to admit defeat. She gets rescued by Vega and the subordinate suddenly manifests Fairy-Tale Card to possess him. The yokai recognizes him from the incident and he realizes he cannot brainwash him so he opts to control Adachi, launching her towards the cop who easily puts her down. In this brief window of time, the power user flees the scene.

The jiangshi disappear when Adachi deactivates her power but loyally follow her wherever she goes while invisible. It is unclear whether this constant presence is a deliberate act by Adachi, an inherent trait of the jiangshi, or a manifestation of her power perpetually at work. | ||
