Momo Ayase and Okarun vs. Flatwoods Monster is a battle that took place in Empty Space generated in the Ayase Residence. Momo Ayase, who has unlocked her psychokinetic powers after the recent encounter with the Serpo, and Okarun, who has been cursed by the Turbo Granny, come face-to-face with the UMA and alien Flatwoods Monster, sent by the Serpo to take their organs.
Prologue[]
Following their encounter with the Serpo over at Nagi Hospital, Momo's chakras are seemingly unlocked, granting her access to her innate psychokinetic power. Thankfully, this allows her to suppress Turbo Granny's curse, which she placed on Okarun, causing him to go berserk if left unchecked. The yokai announced that she had stole the boy's testicles and they could get them back if they visited her at the tunnel in Shono City, but because it's dawn and spirits only come out at night, they decide to rest at her house. Once they arrived, Momo walks through the torii gate, but when Okarun does so, he unexpectedly bursts into flames and she launches him with her powers in the nearby canal. She then notices that it's the result of a mystical barrier conceived by a talisman, which she removes so he can get inside.

They enter the house expecting to find her grandmother Seiko Ayase, but she's absent, so they go upstairs to change their clothing. After she reveals that he lost his testicles and they have a heartfelt conversation, the doorbell suddenly rings, but not with its usual chime. Momo explains that her grandma installed one for humans and one for evil spirits, but because she has never heard the latter, she realizes that it's because she did not place the talisman back on the torii gate. They sneak out from the back of the house and Okarun asks her to wait for him to leave the grounds before placing it down in order to not ignite him, but they both notice that the house has been engulfed in darkness.

Momo rushes Okarun to flee in the other direction, but when they turn around, they are met with a huge concrete wall. At the same time, Momo and Okarun start bleeding from their nose, determining that it's being caused by the black mist being released in the air. Momo spots the torii gate in the fog and wants to put back the talisman, but Okarun stops her as the torii is blocked by the wall, meaning he would combust with no chance to escape. Suddenly, a huge thud is heard after something drops from the ceiling, revealing itself as a giant creature who calls them bad people for breaking their promise, urging them to hand over their organs. As he says this, he stomps his foot on the ground, sending a shockwave that forces the duo to run for their lives.

While hiding behind the house, Okarun informs Momo that it's not a yokai but rather a space alien, recognizing him as the Flatwoods Monster cryptid. This confuses Momo because the door chime for evil spirits activated instead, though Okarun states that people who can see psychic phenomena are just as likely to see UFOs, implying a point of commonality. After Momo theorizes that it's an ally of the Serpo, Okarun surprisingly asks her to let the curse free by suppressing it only in his head and not his body, granting him control over the Turbo Granny's powers. After the alien sends another powerful shockwave their way, they dodge it again and Momo tries her best to follow Okarun's order, succeeding just as a third attack comes their way. Okarun, now transformed with Turbo Granny's powers, carries Momo out of harm's way, though his personality has suddenly shifted and he's now acting depressed. The Flatwoods Monster claps his hands to crush Okarun, finding out that the boy has reacted automatically and even bit off five fingers off the alien's hand, showing off Turbo Granny's speed. While facing the creature, Okarun suddenly vomits blood due to his body being strained by the yokai powers, leaving him in a vulnerable position that allows the enemy to punch him into the nearby building. Momo pulls him back with her powers, yet Okarun is already exhausted and claims that there's no way to defeat him.

The girl notices that the Flatwoods Monster is in a sumo stance, indicating that if they get him to touch the ground with his hands, they should win. Okarun is willing to use the powers just one more time, being ordered to target his legs while she uses her powers to knock him down. They run towards the Flatwoods Monster who stomps the ground again, but Okarun successfully obliterates his leg and Momo pulls him down while still suppressing Okarun's curse. The alien's hand evaporates, but before he can touch the ground with his body, he grows legs from his back to stop his fall. He then grabs Momo and crushes her on the torii gate's wall, repeatedly punching her while she both defends herself with her psychokinesis and holds down Okarun's body. Okarun is willing to strain his body with the powers again to save her, but since the Flatwoods Monster has dug a deep hole in the wall due to his attacks, Momo attracts Okarun and places the talisman on the torii gate as the alien tries to stop them. The Flatwoods Monster incinerates and the two watch from outside the boundary before being teleported back to reality.
Aftermath[]
They realize that the pocket dimension that they were trapped in did not carry the damages to the real life buildings and celebrate their victory, although it's cut short by Okarun transforming again into the Turbo Granny. After complimenting Okarun's new haircut, Momo collapses due to her injuries and Okarun, now left unchecked, turns into Turbo Granny who grabs the girl and prepares to eat her. Luckily, Momo's grandmother Seiko Ayase arrives just in time to take her down.
Anime and Manga Differences[]
Instead of landing on the ground, the Flatwoods Monster reveals himself while upside down on the ceiling, sending a gust of wind by clapping his hands. He then follows up with a punch which Momo and Okarun barely evade, creating a crater in the wall inside the torii gate and leaving the talisman there. When the two start running, he drops down and swings his hand at them, with the air current launching them towards the house.
