WARNING! |
Okarun, Rokuro Serpo and Masamichi Vega vs. Fairy-Tale Card (Umbrella Boy) is a battle that took place in front of the final castle inside Danmara. The Fairy-Tale Card is unsealed due to Momo and Unji killing the guardians and destroying all the seals. The spirit possesses Unji and wrecks havoc with his Umbrella Boy powers, forcing all the delinquents to flee and he gravely injures Momo. Okarun is helped by Rokuro and the cop Vega to take him down, however the boy cannot use his Turbo Granny's powers without the kintama Umbrella Boy is holding onto, meaning they'll have to get creative to obtain it.
Prologue[]
The Fairy-Tale Card is unsealed.
Because Momo had accidentally fallen inside the cursed diorama, Okarun hurried to the Ayase residence and recruited Turbo Granny, Rin and Mai. As they were making their way back to the Renjaku Apartments late in the evening, the cop Masamichi Vega ran after them ordered them to stop to ensure they were doing nothing suspicious but they ignored him. At the same time, Rokuro spotted them and because he was still looking for a part-time job with a better pay from when he was last hired by Momo and Okarun to infiltrate the Kamigoe Police Box, he decided to chase them. They all entered the diorama with the exception of Rin and Mai, rushing to the castle where Momo and Unji were battling the castle's army, helped by the delinquents of the latter's gang and the students from Renjaku High. Okarun and Turbo Granny unfortunately arrived too late as Unji slahsed the last seal apart and freed the malefic Fairy-Tale Card, the spirit that was locked inside the wicker trunk.
By toying with the humans' emotions, the Fairy-Tale Card managed to break through Unji's mind and possessed him to force Umbrella Boy's powers out, overexerting his body to its limits and making him unleash however many blasts with the umbrellas he wanted. Because Unji also had the kintama in his pocket, neither Momo nor Okarun could stop him and they resorted to use the cards given by the defeated guardians. All the deliquents fled from the area and Momo's body received serious injuries from the yokai's blasts that knocked her out. Okarun desperately tried to carry her away from the enemy's range without success and resorted to act as a human shield to protect her from a deadly shot. Just then, Rokuro reached the battlefield and jumped in to save them.
Battle[]
Rokuro and Vega shooting back at Umbrella Boy.
Rokuro extends his nanoskin forward and manifests a convenience store counter which covers Momo and Okarun from Umbrella Boy's blast, surprising him. The Serpo then walks over and asks Okarun if he knows about any part-time job with a good pay, although the boy is confused on how he even got here. After explaining it to him, Turbo Granny manages to remove the Rock-hard Costinus's card effect which had turned them into stone, enraged that Momo had been dealt fatal injuries in the small time she was gone and prepares to treat her wounds. At the same time, Masamichi Vega arrives, still wondering if he's dreaming or not but adamant to arrest everyone and interrogate them. Although Okarun and Turbo Granny recognize the man, Umbrella Boy resumes his assault and bloats his parasol, unleashing a shockwave blast that they all narrowly dodge. Vega counts this attack as a threat and shoots the yokai with his revolver in self-defense, charging at him with his riot shield. Umbrella Boy easily blocks the projectiles with his umbrella but notices Unji showing signs of struggle, confusing the spirit. Rokuro contributes by emitting a high-output particle beam with his nanoskin barcode reader, forcing Umbrella Boy on the defensive. As Okarun carries Momo away from the danger, Vega and Rokuro keep shooting at the yokai, who notices that the hits on the umbrella are still putting a toll on the boy. Because of this, he charges his gamp and boosts upwards, gaining a significant speed that makes it hard for them to land a shot while still opening it to release powerful blasts towards them.
Umbrella Boy's devastating shockwave blasts.
Okarun observes his tremendous aerial speed and even Turbo Granny admits that although Umbrella Boy is a sweet yokai by nature, he's truly unstoppable in a fight. As she says this, the yokai unleashes three consecutive shockwave beams, cracking the terrain and sending Rokuro and Vega flying backwards, preoccupying the boy. Turbo Granny keeps patching up the cuts on Momo's body as she explains to Okarun that those two don't stand a chance and he must retrieve his family jewel to manifest his powers if he wants to win. Okarun wonders if such a task is possible in his human form but Turbo Granny orders him to think of something and she leaves the area to contact Rin, remarking that he's the only person who can actually defeat him. The boy runs to the fort and lays Momo down, determined to take down the yokai. He runs back into the fight though he can't help but notice how slow he is and how much he has depended on Turbo Granny's abilities in his fights. He admits that he's terrified to face such a calamity, trying to figure out a way to reobtain his kintama even with the odds stacked against them. He suddenly remembers Momo blasting Hastur away and realizes that she always turned the tides of battle no matter how dire the situation was, prompting him to devise a plan just like hers. In the meantime, Vega shouts at Rokuro that he's out of bullets and he must do something. The latter explains that his means of movement and attacking are obtained from the shock waves generated by air resistance everytime he closes and opens his umbrella, meaning that they could stop him if they got rid of all the air although Vega is baffled by his nonsensical solution.
Rokuro transformed into a nanoskin heater.
Okarun reunites with them and as they keep running to avoid the blasts, he asks him if he can mold his nanoskin to turn into a rocket while the cop shouts at the boy to run to safety. Rokuro accepts his request but tells him that he only has enough material to form a jetpack, which he visualizes and he lifts off the ground with tremendous speed. Just as he approaches Umbrella Boy, he's easily flung back into the ground, disappointing Okarun. The serpo tells him that the yokai seems to be enveloped in air, meaning he's not approachable in the sky. Vega wonders if there's a way to force him to land like the arrival of a typhoon, giving Okarun an eureka moment. He asks Rokuro to turn into a heater powerful enough to heat up the entire battlefield and he listens to the strange order, transforming into one. To generate enough power he forms cords connecting to the humans' armpits, spreading the warmth around as they run in a huge circle, forming an air current while Umbrella Boy keeps speeding through the sky. Vega is skeptical about their strategy but Okarun shouts that they must try everything at their disposal similarly to Momo's genius plans. All of a sudden, the clouds of smoke in the surroundings clear up and Umbrella Boy's flight path begins to tilt, confusing him. A huge gust of wind is then formed, driving the parasol inside out and forcing the yokai to hold on to the handle. Okarun shouts at the adversary to let go of it, revealing that his powerful movements lifted all the warm air upwards and generated a small-scale tornado. Eventually the spirit loses his grip over the gamp and is finally hurled towards the ground, although he managed to catch the object with his palm. Before he can regain control, Vega sprints towards him and kicks the umbrella out of the yokai's hand, engaging in physical combat.
Vega and Okarun trying to beat down Umbrella Boy.
Umbrella Boy pushes his arms off the ground to elevate his right leg and drop his geta sandals while simultaneously delivering a powerful kick to the cop. Vega parries it with his arm, however the impact is so brutal that the metal plates covering his limb are shattered and even his nose's blood vessels burst. He almost stumbles over just as Umbrella Boy grabs the flying geta sandals to follow up with a vicious hook when Rokuro gets in his way, parrying his hit by deploying his psychokinesis. The serpo retaliates with his Six Sense Organs at point-blank, compelling him to cover his face and chest with his shoes. In an astonishing feat of strength, Umbrella Boy doesn't move an inch when the wave is emitted onto him, leaving Rokuro so stunned that he doesn't block the incoming punch, caving his face in and taking him out momentarily. He falls to the side so Vega regains his composure and deploys his keibo, swinging it at the enemy. Umbrella Boy is not worried in the slightest about the attack and charges up a jab of his own to counter it. All of a sudden, Okarun uses his legs to grapple the spirit's left leg, locking it in place and causing him to lose balance. Umbrella Boy can't even free himself before Vega smacks his face with the baton, however, he quickly redirects the parasol with his powers to collide right onto the cop's chest, sending him rolling several meters. The umbrella then returns and pounds Okarun into the ground before Umbrella Boy positions it and himself onto the boy's back and opens fire.
Okarun and Umbrella Boy clashing at tremendous speeds.
The explosion razes the ground and the yokai covers himself with the umbrella. Noticing that he had somehow missed, he spots the silhouette of the boy in the dust and questions him the source of his marvelous power. Okarun, who was able to steal the kintama from Umbrella Boy's jeans, had transformed into Turbo Granny and scurried out of the blast zone at the last instant. With his mood now as depressed as usual, he tucks away the golden ball in his shirt and faces the yokai immediately after in a contest of agility, with both dashing around the battlefield at tremendous speeds. Okarun catches up with the yokai and tries to crush him but the opponent clashes his feet with his, nullifying the attack. Umbrella Boy then zooms upwards so he can dive onto him and stomp him, all the while he demands to know how he's able to use Turbo Granny's power. After steering clear of the landing zone, he refuses to tell him and jumps over the enemy's kick aimed at his legs, still furious because he has hurt Momo. Umbrella Boy ignores him and lifts his legs up to drop the geta sandals out once again to use them as knuckles, striking Okarun and hurling him away. The yokai sends his gamp forward to impale him yet the boy gets back on his feet and takes distance. Umbrella Boy then approaches him with the object flying right behind him, charging up a blast. Okarun is forced to evade the shockwave by going into the opponent's direction who first tries to pummel him with his sandals, then sending the parasol crashing into him and lastly throwing another hook. However, thanks to his speed, Okarun avoids all the attacks as the spirit explains that it's not his fault but it's Unji's destructive impulses and his wish to wreck the world.
Okarun finishes off Umbrella Boy by going all-out.
He then launches a quick jab which Okarun ducks under and positions his feet upwards, catapulting Umbrella Boy skyward and takes the opportunity to go all-out. Unexpectedly, the umbrella returns to the spirit and catches him just in time to steer him out of Okarun's path, leaving the boy exposed in the air. He mocks the boy's incautious move and builds up speed by dashing through the air with his gamp, eager to punish him by targeting his groin. Left with no choice, Okarun puts all his strength into his feet and tightly grips the tip of the parasol, incredibly stopping it in its path. Umbrella Boy astonishingly looks upward, shocked to see the boy's demonic face claiming that he's trapped. He doesn't falter and redirect his umbrella to the ground before opening it and making Okarun smash onto the terrain as he mocks Turbo Granny's attempt to stand up to the powerful Umbrella Boy. In the meantime, rocks have mysteriously began lifting up and the yokai observes a figure into the distance, believing it to be a superbeing. It's revealed to be Rokuro who has recovered and corrects him by saying that he's a convenience store clerk, using his psychokinesis to try and flatten him with the flying stones. The spirit is enraged and fires the powerful parasol cannon his way, shattering the debris and prompting Rokuro to start running again. He laughs in amusement at their poor attempt to take him down, but because he has put down his guard, he doesn't notice Okarun right above him who had used the floating terrain to manuever throught the air. He shouts that all he has to do is reach him with his feet and bashes the yokai with such a kick that his mask chips and he's flung downwards at a cataclysmic pace, losing the grip over his umbrella. Okarun then hurries up to the ground and unleashes his second all-out, demolishing Umbrella Boy with a devastating kick to the stomach.
The Fairy-Tale Card trying to keep the trio away from Umbrella Boy.
The massive force flings him hundreds of meters into the fort opposite to the castle, stopping his momentum by landing onto a giant brick pillar and shattering half of his mask. Okarun slowly approaches him, wary that he might be still conscious, however it suddenly stops raining and a little kid with an umbrella pops up in front of Unji, begging them not to hurt his big brother. Scenes of a young Unji start appearing in everybody's head and when Vega reaches over he finally recognizes him and shouts that he had been looking for him for a long time. They all access Unji's memories, including Momo who finally wakes up in tears. It overall lasted a mere instant as the Fairy-Tale Card took over the incapacitated Umbrella Boy and frustratingly sent his tentacled buds towards Okarun, Rokuro and Vega. As they run around dodging his tendrils, the evil spirit tries to forcefully reanimate Umbrella Boy with his cards, informing the enemies that they are denying his freedom to destroy. Vega is not afraid and zooms forward, shouting at his adopted son that he's going to free him from the Fairy-Tale Card's control. The words of the officer actually do have an effect on Unji and he starts imposing his own will over the yokai, now mumbling the word "officer". The Fairy-Tale Card freezes up in shock and decides to distance himself from the cop as to keep control over the boy, blasting off into the atmosphere with Umbrella Boy's powers and ending the battle with no winners.
Aftermath[]
The yokai fleeing from the cursed trunk.
The Fairy-Tale Card tells his goodbyes, planning to escape the cursed trunk he was trapped in for eons. Okarun shouts at the yokai and calls him a coward for escaping just as Momo stumbles towards him, barely able to walk due to her injuries. The boy tells her not to overexert herself however Momo starts crying, admitting that it's all her fault because she removed the seals and now the Fairy-Tale Card is escaping while they remain trapped inside. Okarun reassures her that he would have done the same thing in her place and promises her that they'll resolve this and get back Unji. He also apologizes for arriving so late when all of a sudden Turbo Granny returns followed by all the delinquents now that there are no more threats. The cat contacts Rin and Mai standing outside the cursed diorama through the Miniature Communicator of the Serpo, hoping to have the latter carefully lift out the figurines of the players one by one. When the guardian spirit later refuses so she can transform Rin into an idol, the world of Danmara starts crumbling apart.
