WARNING! |
Okarun and Kinta Sakata vs. Hase and Jet Booster Exosuit Kur is a battle that took place on the school grounds of Kami High. While Aira, Okarun and Kinta made their way to rescue Koki from her blackmailer, Hase and the Jet Booster Exosuit Kur were recruited to stop them. Aira managed to slip inside the gym, but Okarun and Kinta had to face the two enemies with only their spare nanoskin and their passion, although the adversaries both had a personal vendetta against Okarun which caused conflict between them.
Prologue[]
Hase acquires Jumping Crone's power.
Earlier that day, Hase challenged Okarun to a race during their gym lesson, hoping to impress the girls watching by. Okarun agreed, and despite not having Turbo Granny's powers anymore, he still blew him out of the park with a phenomenal time. Okarun proceeded to beat everybody in every other contest and Hase later went to drink, wondering how it was even possible. Just then, a mysterious voice resonated through Hase's mind, informing him that Okarun only won because he had special powers. A black and a white kozuka knife appeared in front of him and the voice ordered him to obtain a supernatural ability by cutting itself with the white one, while using the black one to stab Okarun only after he had made him admit defeat. Hase is left stunned and believes it to be a joke, but as the day goes on and he notices his popularity declining, he cuts himself with the white kozuka and obtains Jumping Crone's powers.
The alien is approached by Count Saint-Germain.
After school, the Jet Booster Exosuit Kur woke up naked in the ruins of Kamigoe City. Out of nowhere, Count Saint-Germain presented himself to her, pointing out how her exosuit was done for following her battle against Okarun and Momo during the Kur Invasion and suggested to find herself a new one. The alien woman kept her guard up, asking what he would do if she refused to follow his orders. Count Saint-Germain reassured her that he wouldn't do anything but he made sure to remind her about Earth's high gravity that wouldn't even let her stand up. Left with no other choice, she became his subordinate and he later handed her a new exosuit to fight with.
As Okarun, Aira and Kinta made her way back to Kami High to rescue Rin and Koki from the blackmailer, Hase and the Jet Booster Exosuit Kur met nearby and ambushed them.
Battle[]
Hase and the alien woman chase Okarun and Kinta.
Just as Aira carefully made her way inside the gym because she was the only one with powers, the Jet Booster Exosuit Kur dashes forward and delivers a powerful dropkick towards Okarun and Kinta. Thankfully the latter's jetpack had airbags and they deploy as they roll together on the school grounds, with Kinta pointing out how it would have been a lethal attack if it weren't for those. Before they could even stand up, Hase and the alien walk menacingly towards them. While Aira enters the gym and faces the Severed Head Dribblers, Hase activates Jumping Crone's abilities and a heated chase around the school breaks out. The only thing they could do was run, but Kinta managed to fabricate bracelets with airbags and gave them to Okarun so he could defend himself. All of a sudden, Hase charges up his rebound mechanisms and jumps in the air at such speed that shockwaves are emitted as he travels, dropkicking Okarun towards a school building. The boy was able to block the attack with his bracelets and then rapidly brought them back as they activated, inflating the airbags behind him so he wouldn't crash into the wall. He rolled to the side and resumed running as the airbags deflated back into his bracelets. He screamed to his friend that they wouldn't be able to defeat them with just cushions and suggested to reunite with Aira and the others, although Kinta was too focused on running away while using his jetpack to boost himself forward. Thankfully the two enemies stop as Hase's stamina had plummeted due to the powers and the alien recalibrated her suit. Hase remarks how exhausting his transformation was and whines to his ally, telling her to stop getting in his way and focus on Kinta. She ignores him and focuses to calibrate the suit as she found it very hard to use compared to the one she piloted prior.
Okarun crashes into the alien with his verniers.
Hase assumes that they were both there to steal Okarun's abilities, however he admits that he doesn't care about his mission and only wants to beat him up. He is willing to leave his abilities to her, but warns her that he will kill her if she interferes, although again she doesn't seem to care. Noticing their conversation, Kinta reaches Okarun and molds pieces of nanoskin over him, forming a ridiculously large helmet and oversized boots. He orders him not to touch the equipment because it took lot of effort to imagine it and he teaches him about the verniers he installed on his back and the pile bunkers on his ankles. Okarun thanks him but he's worried about how his friend is going to fight, though Kinta leaves him stunned when he uses the large rest of the nanoskin to recreate the Great Kinta as his battle suit. Hase keeps whining to the alien when she finishes setting her suit up and zooms forward, alerting the duo. Kinta performs a Blast Wind, Thrust Attack yet the alien evades it and targets Okarun with her foot, however they are both surprised by the lack of damage. Kinta explains that ever since his battle with Hastur, he desired to improve the Great Kinta's durability so he ended up carrying a paperweight around everyday to become familiar with steel and apply it to the material. While Okarun tries to escape the enemy with his verniers, he responds that it might be the reason why it feels hard to move in, making Kinta realize its flaw just as Hase strikes him with his feet and sends him rolling away. Okarun is preoccupied but the alien keeps up with the barrage of kicks so he's forced to fly away with his verniers, asking why she's fighting him again. She informs him that the Kur had destroyed her planet and she had joined their ranks to hopefully assassinate their emperor, however Okarun and his friends brought her centenary plan to an end.
The alien wrecks Okarun's battle suit.
She takes out her anguish on him by slamming her foot on his helmet, however Okarun screams that he doesn't care and activates his boosters to crash into her. She blocks the move with her elbow and launches him downwards, approaching him to strike him with her fist. Okarun sees this so he turns upside down and shouts "Pile Bunkers" activating them under his feet and hitting the adversary's chest with enough force to catapult her away. The two crash on the ground and as they stand up Okarun tells her that she's not his enemy, however the alien is compelled to kill him and then herself. She rushes towards him so he tries to escape backwards with his verniers however she catches up to him and unleashes a barrage of lethal kicks against his armor. Okarun is frustrated so he again crashes into the enemy by boosting into her, though this time she can't block it in time. During their ascent, she resorts to opening the suit's mask and biting Okarun's elbow with force, causing agonizing pain. The boy stops rising and turns around to strike her again while shouting Pile Bunkers, but as he falls down, the alien furiously dives down towards him with her mask open. While he's distracted by the reveal of her identity as a non-Kur, she throws a kick at his elbow and the impact is so strong his uniform tears apart. Simultaneously, the attack sent his palm against the nanoskin, removing its steel capabilities applied by Kinta. The alien then opens up the suit's hip and a mechanism forms a ring of light that travels to her back, powering it up. She rages her leg forward and upon throwing a kick directed to her enemy from a distance, the ring is ejected forward at lightning speed, completely wrecking his suit and catapulting him backwards.
Hase punishing the alien for defying his order.
Noticing such a lethal attack, Hase throws Kinta aside and furiously makes his way towards the alien who's ready to finish off the boy. Hase lands right in front of her, insulting her for defying his orders and threatens to annihilate her if she tries pulling off the same stunt again. The alien is irritated but she's immediately hit by Hase who launches her skyward before jumping multiple times in the air to reach over her. He then flips over and tenses his rebound mechanisms to jump towards the ground, crashing onto her with his feet and plummeting her to the floor. She groans in pain but the power user doesn't stop and he keeps up the assault, jumping upward and downward to repeatedly flatten her in a crater. Meanwhile Kinta crawls towards his friend and ask him if he's alright. Okarun is unscathed but he apologizes for touching the suit and having it wrecked. Although Kinta is frustrated that his work was trashed apart, he decides that it is time for the two of them to merge, believing that they'll become stronger just like the cartoons he watched growing up. Okarun reasons that they are not robots but Kinta doesn't care and throws himself at him, molding the nanoskin between them and forming an abomination consisting of the former carrying the latter on his shoulders. Okarun argues whether or not it's going to be useful so Kinta reassures him that his dynamic visual acuity and his reflexes will aid his mastery over the Great Kinta. Just then, Hase finishes the alien off and hurls her to the side, making sure that she can't fight anymore. As he turns around he notices the duo charging at him so he narrowly gets out of the way while Kinta throws a hook at the grass.
Okarun and Kinta's merged suit while fighting Hase.
Hase is flabbergasted by their ridiculous battle suit but Kinta remains focused and screams at his corporal to activate the verniers, boosting out of Hase's landing zone and keeping up with him on foot. Kinta launches another Blast Wind Thrust Attack and misses, however Hase doesn't care about him and urges Okarun to duel him with his own powers. The power user puts his hands on the ground to kick the robot upwards before jumping and catapulting it back on the soccer field, toying with them. Okarun shouts at Kinta that merging just made it harder to move and their suit is now damaged, implying that merging actually made them weaker thus shocking the sci-fi lover. They then tank another hit and they struggle to remain balanced while Hase becomes frustrated, believing that Okarun is looking down on him by fighting that way. Kinta rejects his friend's hypotesis and dashes to strike Hase with a third Blast Wind Thrust Attack, yet this time the opponent lands on the robot's fist and charges his rebound mechanisms. The shockwave of his jump completely wrecks the arm, compelling Kinta to regenerate the nanoskin much to Hase's annoyance. The adversary charges at them but he's caught by surprise by Okarun, smashing him while shouting Pile Bunkers, making use of the Power of Words. As they scurry away his friend compliments him, however Okarun admits that they are doing barely any damage and Kinta should generate more weapons by sacrificing the Great Kinta's design. Kinta is offended by his statement, remarking that he wouldn't pilot a robot that lacks coolness and shouts that having passion is the most important factor. Believing that his passion for sci-fi granted him the power of inspiration for the nanoskin, Kinta unleashes a powerful jab at Hase, although he completely misses and they are flung upwards with a kick.
Hase being crushed by Okarun and Kinta.
The enemy grows tired of their antics and shrieks that he won't let them get away for trying to stand up to him, boosting in the sky and jumping in quick succession to violently pierce through their battle suit from every single direction. Lastly he uses his foot to trash the suit completely open, exposing the duo inside. Just as he's about to kill Okarun with a lethal kick, the boy is reminded of the time when Hase bullied him for his passion for the occult, claiming that whoever believes that sort of crap is better off dead. After his countless adventures, Okarun finally shouts back that he was wrong and he retaliates by wrapping around Hase's chest, stopping him from delivering attacks with his legs. He resorts to pummel him with punches yet Okarun doesn't let go, screaming about conspiracies that were recently proven true like Project MKULTRA, Operation Mockingbird and the existence of aliens. Unexpectedly, Okarun orders Kinta to merge once again and he imagines a set of wings and constraints on Hase's ankles to prevent him from jumping. As they soar higher and higher, Kinta argues about Okarun's previous statement regarding their merging not making them stronger. Hase tries to free himself by punching them in vain while the pilot reasons that the nanoskin of steel had made them heavier, but not weaker. With that said, the duo shrieks and they plummet towards the ground from a significant height, crushing Hase head-first under their body weight, undoing his transformation and knocking him unconscious. As the dust cloud clears, the Jet Booster Exosuit Kur barely stands up and spots her defeated ally. Because she's in no condition to fight any longer, she resorts to flee into the sky while Okarun and Kinta celebrate their victory, with the latter giving permission to the former to call him colonel.
Aftermath[]
The Family dining in Queen's infirmary.
While they drag Hase's body through the school grounds, the boys meet up with Aira and Rin, who had just captured Murakami after brawling with his Severed Head Dribblers. Aira embraces Okarun while Kinta boasts about his contribution to the battle and demands an hug too. They later call the police to arrest Murakami and an ambulance for both Aira and Hase, who set off under Queen's supervision. Kinta concludes that these agents were hired by an orchestrator whose organization practices outsourcing to cover their crimes. He however reasons that because these types of schemes rarely consider their workers as human beings, it is destined to crumble down. After Manjiro arrives to give Okarun the Oni Club, they all dine in Queen's infirmary alongside Koki.
The alien supposedly returns to Count Saint-Germain, notifying him of her loss and her destroyed suit. However she could now resist Earth's gravity and the Count has her work as a baker at Tasty Geezer Breads.
