The Renjaku Apartments Incident refers to a reported police incident that took place in the Renjaku Apartments that served as a hideout for Renjaku High School student Unji Zuma and his gang of delinquents. Unbeknownst to the police or the public, the incident was a confrontation against the Fairy-Tale Card after his release from his confinement inside a cursed trunk.

Prelude[]

At an indeterminate point in history, the Fairy-Tale Card was created when a European sorcerer imprisoned the world's evil within Japanese playing cards and secured them in a cursed trunk, with four seals being created to keep him sealed and protected by three guardian deities. Unable to free himself from the seals that bound him, the Fairy-Tale Card sought to manipulate humans to carry out his wishes by using his power to conjure up a game-like realm within the cursed trunk and transforming the object into a portal, allowing anyone who touched it to be transported to his world and become tricked into destroying the guardians as a way out.

Sanjome with the cursed trunk

Count Saint-Germain in possession of the Fairy-Tale Card's cursed trunk.

During the modern era, the cursed trunk, considered a diorama, was given to a young 7th-grade Daiki Hakono as a birthday present from his father. Upon touching it, he was sent to Danmara, where he remained stranded for about twenty years, evading monsters and surviving on candies. However, in reality, only four years had passed due to the accelerated flow of time in Danmara. After being released back into the real world, deemed a worthless pawn by the Fairy-Tale Card, Daiki met Unji, who welcomed him into his home. Unji later acquired the diorama, which prompted him to delve into research on cursed artifacts at a library to gain a deeper understanding of it. There, Count Saint-Germain approached Unji and encouraged him to embark on a mission to explore the inner world of the diorama and destroy it, having made a pact with the Fairy-Tale Card to free him in exchange for his yokai powers. He then guided Unji to the Kamigoe Police Box to collect Okarun's second kintama that was found and handed over by Rin Sawaki, allowing Unji to freely use Umbrella Boy's yokai powers. When Unji's gang reported that a young girl, one of his followers, had entered the diorama, Unji instructed them not to pursue her, reserving the next entry for himself to complete his mission. Upon entering, Unji found the girl and took her place within the diorama after their encounter led to her release. Although the workings of the inner world were unclear, Unji initiated his plan to eliminate it by destroying all the monsters residing there.

Sometime after, Rin disclosed to Okarun the location of the kintama and went with him to retrieve it, only to find out from officer Masamichi Vega that it had already been collected. Following the conclusion of Rin's situation with the Onbusuman, Okarun shared this information with Momo and needed help from her ability to sense auras to determine whether if the kintama was actually collected. After concluding that the kintama was indeed collected, Momo and Okarun bribed Turbo Granny into posing as lost property to have her infiltrate and find out who claimed it. She attempted to access the deposit but was thwarted by a password requirement that she did not know, leading her to abandon the effort. Later, Momo and Okarun encountered Rokuro Serpo, who was working as a store clerk after Momo influenced his perspective, resulting in his social isolation from his clones. Momo requested that he infiltrate the police box to find out who had taken Okarun's kintama. Rokuro agreed to help and used his nanoskin to disguise himself as a police officer and accessed the police box's computer records. After a brief confrontation with Vega who was unfamiliar with Rokuro, Rokuro informed Momo and Okarun about Unji Zuma, a student at Renjaku High School who claimed the kintama.

Momo sent to Danmara

Momo sent to Danmara.

Upon visiting the school, they learn from Toriumi that Unji had recently transformed into a monstrous figure and had lost his sanity. In response, Momo had Okarun activate his Turbo Granny form and caused the student to flee in terror, revealing to them that he too had come into contact with the golden ball. As they search for Unji at his apartment, Daiki suddenly appears, brandishing his sword in fear towards the two. Shortly after, Unji's gang arrives, demanding that the duo surrender the old man. They are revealed to also be able to witness Okarun's yokai form, leading Momo to confront the temporary leader of the gang. The tension eases when he declines to fight against women, and he takes the three of them to their hideout in the Renjaku Apartments Complex, where the diorama is located. Daiki, the co-leader of the gang Raiya and the girl previously sent to Danmara recount the events that led them to this point, and the gang attempts once more to force Daiki into the diorama. While trying to fend off the teenagers, he inadvertently pushes Momo, causing her to touch the diorama and instantly transported to Danmara, leaving everyone stunned.

Events[]

Friends on the Outside[]

Okarun and the others observe Momo's progress inside the realm through a small moving figurine of her placed on the diorama and realized that the diorama functioned like a board game. They discussed their options, with Raiya proposing that everyone should participate, believing teamwork would help them progress, much like what Momo and Unji were achieving. However, Okarun advised waiting until he brings Seiko, warning that acting impulsively might trap them in the diorama. Raiya, emphasizing the danger of their friends potentially perishing, declared that they would enter regardless of Okarun's caution.

Okarun taking Turbo Granny, Rin and Mai to the hideout

Okarun enlisting help from Turbo Granny, Rin, and Mai to free Momo from the cursed trunk.

Okarun quickly used his powers to reach the Ayase Residence before the gang entered the diorama, only to be surprised by Seiko's absence. Present at the scene were Bamora, Turbo Granny, and Rin, who visited to express her heartfelt gratitude to the Ayases for helping her with the Onbusuman. Desperate, for her help, Okarun promised to Turbo Granny anything she desired in exchange for her help. Intrigued by the proposal, she agreed and ask about the presence of a black cloth near the wooden box. After Okarun denied its existence, she recognized the gravity of the situation and requested Rin and Mai's assistance. As Okarun led the four to their hideout, they were pursued by officer Vega, as it was past the curfew for high school students. Unbeknownst to them, Rokuro trailed Vega, seeking to uncover a new job opportunity. Meanwhile, Unji's gang and the students from Renjaku High, who were persuaded into working with the gang to challenge Unji, made their way into the diorama, advancing toward the castle where Momo and Unji were engaged in a battle against an army. Upon arriving at the hideout, Okarun and Turbo Granny instructed Rin and Mai to remain outside and await further instructions, with Turbo Granny providing Rin a Serpo Phone for interdimensional communication. Shortly thereafter, Vega and Rokuro arrived and entered the diorama as well.

Conquering Danmara[]

Unji defeats the Dark Knight

Unji defeats the Dark Knight.

Upon her arrival in Danmara, Momo magically received a card and set out to explore the world to look for Unji. Momo then came to the realization that the world acts like a game after reaching a place with a slope wall with seven ropes that go up to the top. While attempting to scale the wall of National Border Hill, the Dark Knight, one of the three guardian deities, crashed through the wall and launched an assault on her. Momo soon understood that she was unable to use her psychokinesis within the cursed trunk and, in a moment of urgency, called out for Okarun. At that instant, Unji appeared in his Umbrella Boy form, coming to her aid and eliminating the imposing knight with his twin umbrellas. After Unji disclosed who he was and why he was in Danmara, Momo insisted that he return the kintama. Unji declined, asserting that he would only agree to return it after conquering the entire dimension, beginning with the monsters he had already defeated. Undaunted, Momo pointed out that their current world was merely a game and that what was essential was clearing each stage. Persuaded by her reasoning, the two crossed the border and found themselves in a candy-themed obstacle course.

Momo defeats the Death Patissier

Momo defeats the Death Pâtissier.

Prior to proceeding, Unji passed his pants to Momo, as he wished to prevent any mishaps while crossing. Unfortunately, the kintama, which was concealed in Unji's pocket, tumbled out and dropped to the ground below. In an instant, a horde of frogs emerged, pursuing the golden ball, prompting the pair to enter a frenzied struggle to recover it. The Death Pâtissier soon entered the conflict, challenging the players to touch chocolate and crushed the frogs that escaped his rolling pin. The duo quickly recognized that his attacks were reminiscent of a candy-themed version of color tag and decided to participate. While they managed to keep up for a while, they eventually ran out of sweets and hurried toward the golden ball. Unji was able to grab it, but with his umbrellas still recharging, he threw it to Momo. Momo used her psychokinesis to pull him to safety and unleashed a devastating Moe Moe Tri-Beam to eliminate the guardian. Following the battle, two cards appear as achievements―the Dark Knight's Carmine, which enabled them to wield the sword and knight of the deity, and the Death Pâtissier's Nom Nom Bongo, bestowing specific powers upon the consumption of treats. Unbeknownst to them, the Death Pâtissier's Nom Nom Bongo card had a significant drawback—anyone who indulged in Danmara's food would be recognized as its citizens.

Momo and Unji defeat Medusa

Momo and Unji defeat Medusa.

The pair later faced the third guardian, Medusa, who chased them from the top of a high structure. Although they attempted to penetrate her stone skin with the Carmine card, their efforts were in vain, and her quick movements made it impossible to escape by leaping off the tower. However, Momo noticed that Medusa's color shifted after consuming a candy, which led her to understand that Danmara's creatures could also be influenced by the card's abilities. By using a sticky, slow-inducing candy and a bag of chips Momo had brought from the outside world, they ignited Medusa, softening her stone exterior just enough for the Dark Knight's sword to land the decisive strike.

Upon their arrival in Ice Town, they were welcomed by a jovial frog. Wary of a possible ambush, they activated Medusa's card, the Rock-hard Costinus, which turned them to stone for protection. When the frog did not attack, they approached it with caution and found it simply repeated the same phrase, much like a non-playable character in a video game. Hungry and tired, they used shikigami frogs, which they had acquired during their encounter with the Death Pâtissier, as currency to buy meal and lodging in a hotel, taking turns resting and keeping watch. When Momo neglected her duty to keep watch after drifting off to sleep yearning to reunite with Okarun, she found herself in bed and discovered Unji asleep on the floor outside, prompting her to plead for forgiveness. The two then left Ice Town, making their way to the game's final stage.

Unji destroys the crystal

Unji destroys the final seal.

Upon arriving at the castle, they encountered a massive enemy army comprised of soldiers, wyverns and behemoths. A notification alerted them that they needed to roll three dice, with each die determining the number of troops they would receive, multiplied by a factor—yellow providing 100x, blue 10x, and red only 1x. Momo was the first to roll the red die, employing her psychokinesis to achieve a six. However, the game detected this as cheating and did not grant her any troops. Following a short conflict with Unji, she rolled the blue die, which resulted in a disappointing one, providing her only ten soldiers. After some light-hearted teasing, Unji took his turn with the yellow die and rolled a two, which earned them 200 troops. Nevertheless, this was insignificant compared to the enemy's impressive army of 600. They were then given the task of classifying their units into four categories: knights, who had an advantage over archers; archers, who were effective against mages; mages, who defeated warriors; and warriors, who could counter knights. Momo decided to become a mage, while Unji chose to be a knight, and they entered the battlefield facing significant challenges. Unji, the sole knight, activated his Umbrella Boy powers and successfully took out the enemy archers on his own. Meanwhile, Momo adeptly organized their troops to counter the enemies of the corresponding class. Nevertheless, despite their combined efforts, the overwhelming enemy forces proved too formidable, leading to an increasingly desperate situation. Just as Momo nearly avoids being crushed by a behemoth, the students from Renjaku High and his gang appeared, equipped with motorbikes, bows, and remarkable strength and engaged the opposing army with impressive skill. After Unji reassured Momo that his fellow friends had the situation managed, the two of them proceeded to enter the castle to destroy the crystal inside, the ultimate objective of the final stage and perceived way out of the dimension.

The Fairy-Tale Card's Liberation[]

Fairy-Tale Card unsealed

The Fairy-Tale Card unsealed after the game's completion.

Unji told Momo to step aside as he prepared to slash the crystal with his sword. Just then, Okarun and Turbo Granny rushed in urgently calling for them to halt, only to arrive too late after Unji struck the crystal. In response to this, the castle started to crumble around them. While escaping, Turbo Granny disclosed the real intention behind the cursed trunk, chastising Momo for being tricked into freeing the formidable yokai that had been confined within. Outside the dilapidated castle, a festive pop-up celebrated the players' successful completion of the game, prompting cheers of victory from the teenagers. Yet, Turbo Granny cautioned them about the seriousness of their circumstances, emphasizing that any yokai strong enough to be confined in a cursed trunk represented a significant danger. Just as she feared, the Fairy-Tale Card, which had been sealed for years, finally broke free—liberated at last.

The Fairy-Tale Card conveyed its appreciation to the unsuspecting humans, while Turbo Granny quickly urged everyone to shut their eyes, cautioning that the yokai's unique power enabled him to take control of anyone who met his gaze. The trapped spirit, taken aback by Turbo Granny's alliance with the humans, commented on the hopelessness of trying to flee from the cursed trunk. Momo challenged his assertion, highlighting that Daiki and the girl from Unji's gang had successfully escaped. Nevertheless, the yokai disclosed that he had intentionally permitted their departure to lure more humans into the game. He proudly proclaimed that he had created a sweetened reality free from the harsh society that had transformed the Renjaku students into troublemakers. The spirit's voice evoked a painful memory for Raiya, bringing back a distressing moment from his childhood filled with humiliation and trauma. Overcome by fear, he opened his eyes, surrendering to the influence of the Fairy-Tale Card. Under his control, he charged at Unji and hit him with a pipe. Unji, disturbed by the scene, glanced up to witness the yokai transforming into the likeness of his deceased mother. The yokai, aware of his violent tendencies, activated his Umbrella Boy abilities, fracturing the young man's already delicate psyche in the process.

Umbrella Boy awakens

Unji being controlled by the Fairy-Tale Card.

As Unji underwent his transformation, the Turbo Granny was startled by the appearance, identifying the figure as a yokai called Umbrella Boy. Concerned, she inquired of Momo whether she could utilize her powers. Momo confessed that can't without the kintama, which was on Unji's person. Once Unji completely assumed his new form, the Fairy-Tale Card confidently announced its intention through the possessed young man: to exploit Unji's power to break free from the cursed trunk and unleash chaos upon the world. Sensing an attack coming their way, Momo alerted the others to utilize Medusa's card for defense. Noticing that Unji was able to use his umbrellas more than two times, Momo was taken aback when Turbo Granny disclosed that the Fairy-Tale Card had the ability to unlock the full potential of any human he inhabited, which could be lethal for Unji. Upon noticing Unji ensnared within Umbrella Boy's mask, she rushed towards him, compelling him to take back control. The Fairy-Tale Card dismissed Momo's assumption that he was exerting control over Unji, instead he explained that he was simply revealing Unji's inherent nature—a desire to annihilate the world and everything within it. As Umbrella Boy Unji prepared to unleash another catastrophic shockwave towards Momo, she prepared to use the Medusa card to protect herself. Unfortunately, the card slipped from her fingers at a critical moment, resulting in her being critically injured and knocked unconscious from taking the full impact of the shockwave.

Okarun attempted to carry the unconscious Momo out of the battlefield and found himself being shielded by Rokuro, who utilized his nanoskin to turn the tide. Masamichi Vega also reached the scene, astonished by the disorder, and announced that everyone was under arrest. In an act of self-defense, he fired at Umbrella Boy Unji, prompting the possessed to ascend into the air and unleash shockwave attacks on the duo. Turbo Granny informed Okarun of the nature of Umbrella Boy and left the task of defeating Umbrella Boy Unji to him while she tried to reach out to Rin from the other side. After moving Momo to a safer spot, Okarun joined up with Rokuro and Vega and formulated an ingenious strategy. After the Serpo followed Okarun's instructions to morph into a heater, Umbrella Boy Unji became propelled upward by a formed tornado as a result of the heated air. This caused the yokai to tumble to the ground, allowing the team to confront Umbrella Boy Unji up close and for Okarun to retrieve the kintama and assume his Turbo Granny form.

Okarun defeats Umbrella Boy

Okarun defeats Umbrella Boy Unji.

Okarun confronted Umbrella Boy Unji in an intense battle. Utilizing Rokuro's psychokinesis to lift debris into the air, Okarun used the rubble as platforms to reach an airborne Umbrella Boy Unji, land a powerful kick to his head that sent the possessed crashing to the ground, and concluded the fight with a decisive All-Out dropkick, propelling Umbrella Boy Unji backward into the stage platform. As Unji's possessed body laid defeated, rain began to fall, and Okarun spotted a boy near Umbrella Boy Unji, pleading for him to stop tormenting his older brother. Confused and troubled by the scene, Okarun contemplated what was happening. At that moment, Vega approached and recognized Unji behind the mask. In disbelief, he expressed his confusion about Unji's presence, revealing that he had been searching for him for quite some time.

Momo awoke from a vision of Unji's past, uncovering the heartbreaking story of his family's demise that led to his guardianship under Vega. At the same time, the Fairy-Tale Card continued to exert its influence over Unji, expressing his disappointment in the humans trying to stop Unji from letting out his destructive nature. Vega attempted to call out to Unji to escape the yokai's mind control, which almost worked as Unji recognized the officer's voice. Sensing the rising defiance, the Fairy-Tale Card distanced himself from the officer and fled the cursed trunk with the teenager. As the situation calmed, Momo and Okarun paused to confer and bolster each other, preparing for the obstacles that lay ahead. Soon after, Turbo Granny returned with the other teenagers and established communication with Rin and Mai outside the diorama.

Rin using gravity manipulation

Rin using Mai's powers to lift the figurines out of the cursed trunk.

Turbo Granny instructed Rin to carefully set the cursed trunk onto the black cloth, warning her that damaging even a single figurine could result in the death of the person it depicted. When a member of Unji's gang attempted to move the diorama using sticks, she was instantly transported to Danmara, which angered Turbo Granny. Turbo Granny stressed the importance of sliding the black cloths beneath the trunk for safe lifting and requested Mai's assistance, as her greater resistance to curses made her a safer choice than Rin, who might risk being pulled into the other dimension. However, due to her rivalry with Turbo Granny, Mai refused to help and insisted that Rin handle the situation alone. Consequently, Rin found herself dressed in an embarrassing, revealing idol costume created by Mai, which she needed to harness her powers for the task. Just as it seemed that all hope was lost as Danmara began to fade from view, everyone except Momo began to float upward into the sky as Rin utilized Mai's Onbusuman gravity manipulation to lift the figurines from the diorama through her singing.

Okarun confessing to Momo

Okarun confessing to Momo before their temporary separation.

Turbo Granny became taken aback to learn that Momo had eaten the food of Danmara, transforming her into a citizen of the realm as warned by the Nom Nom Bongo card. In an attempt to reverse the curse, Okarun handed over his kintama to Momo, only to find out that not even this had any effect. Turbo Granny informs them that the only way to lift the curse was to defeat the Fairy-Tale Card and pledging to remain by Momo's side for good fortune until Okarun fulfilled this task. She also pointed out the accelerated passage of time in Danmara, stressing the need to vanquish the yokai before the dimension fell apart. Confronted with a significant challenge, Okarun seized the opportunity to express his feelings for Momo. In response, Momo forces Okarun to let go of her hand and ascend to the sky while insisting that he vow multiple times to properly confess his feelings once they were out of the cursed trunk. Concurrently, the Fairy-Tale Card, harnessing Umbrella Boy's abilities to ascend rapidly, was taken by surprise when numerous Renjaku students and gang members encircled him and banded together to liberate Unji from the yokai's grasp.

Fairy-Tale Card freed from the cursed trunk

The Fairy-Tale Card freed from the cursed trunk.

As they passed the threshold of Danmara and returned to Earth, the Fairy-Tale Card expressed his joy, celebrating its newfound freedom after years of confinement, and promptly discarded Unji’s frail yet living body. His focus then swiftly shifted to Rin, recognizing the struggles of her childhood and attempted to overtake her. However, Mai intervened to cancel out his mind control and repelled the yokai away. While the Fairy-Tale Card couldn't fully control Mai, he utilized his mouth card to silence her, preventing Okarun, Rokuro, and Vega from escaping inside the world. In response, Rokuro devised makeshift thrusters using his nanoskin to lift them into the air, but their collective weight greatly hindered their rise. The Fairy-Tale Card unleashed its power on the teenagers, leaving them blind and deaf while inciting conflict among them. As Rin and the girls skillfully evaded the onslaught, the dynamics of the battlefield changed with the sudden appearance of Count Saint-Germain. With careful strategy, the man employed talismans from the black cloth to liberate the delinquent teenagers from the yokai's influence. Recognizing Count Saint-Germain's involvement in facilitating Umbrella Boy's escape, the Fairy-Tale Card offered a sarcastic expression of gratitude before questioning his motives for interference. Count Saint-Germain feigned ignorance to know the yokai, his composed attitude only serving to irritate the Fairy-Tale Card further.

Black Haircutter

Count Saint-Germain fights the Fairy-Tale Card.

Although the Fairy-Tale Card found his cleverness entertaining, he also acknowledged Count Saint-Germain's formidable power, revealing a preference to steer clear of him as an opponent. The Fairy-Tale Card rendered Count Saint-Germain blind with his power, compelling the man to act on instinct and deflect his bud attacks. He then revealed his array of kogai, each serving as a conduit for a yokai's strength. After replacing the kogai currently embedded in the tsuba of his sword, he invoked the abilities of the Jumping Crone, crafting footholds in the air that allowed him to evade the incoming assault and shorten the gap. As [Count Saint-Germain approached within striking distance, he activated the powers of the Black Haircutter to slash the mouth card, which temporarily restored Rin's ability to speak. However, the yokai quickly healed itself, compelling Count Saint-Germain to take evasive action. He employed the Water Tiger kogai to descend safely to the ground and regroup. The arrogant Fairy-Tale Card boasted that even the legendary man he was facing could not defeat him alone. Inquiring about Count Saint-Germain's reasons for opposing him despite their prior agreement, the yokai received a dismissive retort from the collector for his arrogance that resulted in his weakness being exposed to him. The Fairy-Tale Card, perplexed by how its weaknesses were uncovered without any direct indication, was taken aback when Count Saint-Germain clarified his thought process. Based on the moment when the yokai stated to him that he could not beat him on his own, Count Saint-Germain reminisced about the history of the karuta cards and concluded that the yokai's even number of cards implied that to prevent its regeneration, it was essential to destroy two or all of them at once. The Fairy-Tale Card dismissed this hypothesis but provocatively questioned whether his opponent could accomplish such a task by himself. Count Saint-Germain conceded that he could not—just as Okarun, Rokuro, and Vega emerged from Danmara, finally providing the necessary support to face the yokai together.

The Fairy-Tale Card defeated

The Fairy-Tale Card defeated.

After escaping the cursed trunk, Okarun realized he could not access Turbo Granny's powers, having already utilized two All-Outs. Count Saint-Germain greeted the trio, which prompted Rokuro, the only one who recognized him, to ask why he was present. Okarun saw Rin but was momentarily distracted by her strange outfit, while Vega rushed to Unji's lifeless body. Discovering that there was no breath, the devastated cop called out Unji's name in desperation to have him regain consciousness. During this time, Unji had a striking vision of himself alongside Futa, happily reminiscing about their shared moments. Out of the blue, Futa dashed toward their revived parents to say his last farewell. Although Unji felt the urge to pursue him, he recalled the many individuals who loved him and opted for a different route, choosing to return to life. Vega, filled with emotion, began to weep and promised that they would endure and find their way back home. Count Saint-Germain outlined the strategy to Okarun and Rokuro, encouraging the latter to take on the form of Turbo Granny. Although Okarun was initially taken aback by the man's awareness of his abilities, he soon understood the critical need to rescue Momo and entered into a forced transformation. The three of them readied themselves for a coordinated attack, with even the wounded Unji getting his umbrella ready to contribute to the fight against the yokai. The Fairy-Tale Card, taken aback by Unji's resilience, made another attempt to seize control of him and exploit Umbrella Boy's abilities for its own escape. This time, though, it could not penetrate Unji's mind. Instead, the Fairy-Tale Card resorted to stirring up memories of his mother's past wrongs. However, instead of giving in to rage, Unji chose to reflect on and value his late mother's dedication to keeping their family united, thereby thwarting the yokai's scheme. Count Saint-Germain exposed the yokai's dependence on harnessing human anger and discord, advising the team to ignore its deceitful rhetoric. At his cue, the four executed a synchronized attack on the yokai's four cards and defeat him.

Count Saint-Germain using Fairy-Tale Card's power

Count Saint-Germain completes his mission of acquiring the Fairy-Tale Card's powers.

As a result of the Fairy-Tale Card's defeat, a tremendous wave of energy wipes out all remnants of his powers. After Rin regained her ability to speak, Okarun, exhausted and unable to move due to the toll on his body, cried out in desperation for her to continue singing to free Momo and Turbo Granny from Danmara. After both emerged from the cursed trunk, a tiny Momo found herself resting in Okarun's hand, leaving them both in disbelief at the strange occurrence. At the same time, a frail Fairy-Tale Card tried to escape but was caught by Count Saint-Germain. The yokai remembered his vow to assist Count Saint-Germain once he was free, a pact the man acknowledged—provided the yokai acknowledged its defeat and submitted to him. Stunned yet obligated to honor its promise, the Fairy-Tale Card complied. Taking advantage of the moment, Count Saint-Germain revealed a small knife and quickly plunged it into the creature. Feeling betrayed, the Fairy-Tale Card voiced his objections, but Count Saint-Germain calmly reiterated their agreement. He then placed the kozuka knife into the tsuba of his sword, channeling the power of the Fairy-Tale Card, now enhanced by the abilities of two additional cards, the foot and fist cards. Enraged, the Fairy-Tale Card demanded the return of his power, only for Count Saint-Germain to brush aside its complaints, proclaiming himself a collector of the supernatural—a seeker of the world's truths, intent on acquiring every artifact, UFO, and even the powers of the yokai. Before taking his leave, Count Saint-Germain inquired if the Fairy-Tale Card recognized "Dandadan", declaring it to be the ultimate treasure he sought.

Aftermath[]

A few days later, the media portrayed the incident at the Renjaku apartments as a large-scale fight involving youths who frequented the abandoned buildings and students from Renjaku High School, resulting in over 100 reported injuries. While in the hospital, Unji confided in Vega, explaining how he had let Daiki stay at their home, as he could not find his own. He mentioned that he had notified Baison at the police box about his temporary absence and had received the kintama to access Danmara, guided by someone whose identity had faded from his memory. Unji's gang members, along with Daiki came to visit him in the hospital, expressing their hopes for Unji's recovery and emphasizing how much they relied on him. Though appreciative of their presence and relieved to see them unharmed, Unji requested that they be mindful of the other patients.

At the All You Can Eat Goro Stamina Booster, everyone involved in the incident became treated to a meal by Seiko. Aira, Jiji, Kinta, and Bamora joined them and discovered Momo's reduced size. Feeling left out due to them not being involved in the incident, they urged Momo to include them in future events so they could help her. Seiko expressed her deep appreciation to Okarun and Turbo Granny for their protection of Momo and pledged to do whatever was necessary to restore her granddaughter to her normal size.

Turbo Granny's farewell

Turbo Granny leaves the Family after regaining her power.

With Okarun's final kintama reclaimed, the group initiated the ball game ritual, this time with Seiko's victory over Turbo Granny after managing to strike the golden ball with her bat. Following this, Turbo Granny reminded Okarun of their previous agreement made when she was confined within the maneki-neko doll, insisting on the return of her spiritual power now that both of his testicles had been restored. Aira raised concerns about the potential dangers of fulfilling the agreement, pointing out that they might encounter future threats without Momo to assist them. Nevertheless, Okarun remained committed to his promise and expressed his gratitude to the spirit for allowing him to use her power. Following the transference ritual, Turbo Granny revealed her powers in their entirety, emanating a menacing aura that prompted Aira to ask Jiji to summon the Evil Eye. However, once her powers were absorbed, Turbo Granny stated that she had no reason to linger any longer and took her leave from the Family.

The curses caused by the food inside the cursed trunk on Momo, Unji and Daiki only worsened with time. Momo's curse interfered with people's memories about her and she risked getting forgotten by the world, similarly to the pygmies. Upon hearing Daiki's story, Unji and Raiya decided to help him out, since his aging speed increased exponentially to the point where he couldn't walk anymore, while Zuma's curse affected his sight, soon rendering him blind. The three will try to make their way to Shimane to lift their curses, but a series of unpredictable and highly dangerous events will prove this task difficult.
