WARNING! |
Reptilian (レプティリアン Reputirian?) is an alien space ninja hired by the Serpo, along with his partner Enenra, to steal Momo and Seiko Ayase's powers.
In Dandadan, he serves as a major antagonist during the Shimane Arc.
Appearance[]
He resembles a human-sized chameleon with dark nails and dons a ninja outfit, consisting of a dark robe, a hakama with one of its folds darkened, long wrist gauntlets, and sandals.
In his true form, his body is a castle not that different in design to the Matsue Castle, which he used his power to replicate, with his head situated on top and six well-toned reptile limbs holding the structure up.

Personality[]
Reptilian holds himself in the highest regard, taking immense pride in his role as a space ninja. His honor is so deeply entwined with his identity that being outclassed in ninja skills sends him into a rage, having assumed his true form in retaliation to Momo and Bamora not only defeating him but humiliating him in stealth using the latter's kaiju suit's invisibility. His pride can also lead him to acting petty against such enemies, refusing to acknowledge them as being superior to him and dismissing them as mere "ninja wannabes".
When it comes to assignments in confronting his targets, he admits to approaching them with pragmatism, arguing to his partner Enenra that it would have been more effective to simply eliminate Momo, Seiko, and Bamora outright and hand their bodies over to the Serpo, rather than wasting time on Enenra's elaborate deception to extract their powers. When the collaborated plan failed, he showed strong aversion to taking responsibility after Enenra insisted that he fix their problem.

Current Saga[]
Shimane Arc[]
At some point, Reptilian and Enenra were contacted by the Serpo to acquire Momo and Seiko's powers for when they arrive at Izumo Taisha for the Uchide-no-Kozuchi and accepted the task. To complete their mission, Reptilian used his power to camouflage himself as Matsue Castle, while Enenra disguised himself as a priest of Izumo Taisha to lure their targets to a trap at the replica castle.
After Enenra's failed attempt to deceive Momo and Seiko into relinquishing their powers, Reptilian shows himself and confronts Enenra, arguing that they should have simply eliminated their targets and deliver them to the Serpo, rather than wasting time on an elaborate ruse. Enenra rebuffs this strategy, insisting that direct violence would have complicated their mission and demands to know how the latter intends to rectify the situation, much to Reptilian's unwillingness to accept responsibility for his partner's failure. Reptilian then activates his power to prevent Bamora from escaping, just as Seiko begins fending off the squad of ninjas, and has her trapped beneath the lower level of the castle, along with Momo who grabbed her using her power.[1]
Reptilian assuming his true form.
While his ninjas engage Bamora, Reptilian conceals himself by blending into a nearby pillar. He then witnesses his ninjas being defeated one by one by Bamora as she uses her kaiju suit's invisibility to hide her presence and launch surprise attacks. Reptilian admits that the girl is better concealed than he is, but remains confident that his opponent will not be able to find him. However, he is taken aback and assaulted by Bamora when Momo announces his location, having used her aura sensing ability to do so. Following Momo and Bamora's escape to regroup with Jiji and a badly injured Seiko, Reptilian, humiliated and enraged at being outclassed in ninja technique, assumes his true form and declares that he will not allow such a disgrace to go unanswered.[2]
As Momo enters Bamora's suit and it enlargens while activating empty space, Reptilian can't help but be in awe at the technology they are using and its massive size. The suit turns on retro-reflective projection and the duo charges forward to strike him, but thanks to his kite ninjas, the kaiju's position remained clear to him and he leaps in the air, evading the attack. After explaining to the girls how he could see them, he then commands the ninjas to use their Ninja Art: Sakura Riot , releasing hundreds of colorful explosives onto the kaiju. Bamora notices that the suit's endurance gauge is depleting and because it would deactivate if it reached zero, Momo decides to charge at Reptilian to get him in the explosions' range, since his body is more likely less resistant than the kaiju. Aware of this, Reptilian exclaims that he's a true ninja compared to them and proceeds to skillfully jump out multiple times of harm's way, taunting their performance while his ninjas keep bombarding the suit, causing it to malfunction. The kaiju ultimately shrinks down and collapses, leading Reptilian to claim victory and determine that between them he's the real ninja, shouting that there was no way that they could have beaten him as he pummels the tiny kaiju into the ground. After doing so, he realizes that he might have exaggerated and could have killed them, although he points out that it would be easier to just hand them to the Serpo to dissect them.
Out of nowhere, he hears Momo's voice, asking him what was he even targeting. Reptilian is flabbergasted and awkwardly looks around to find them, prompting Momo to laugh because he dropped his ninja performance, seeing through him even when Reptilian resumes the role and the manner of speech. Momo inquires if he knows the tale of Issun-Boshi, a little samurai who defeated his giant enemy by attacking him from the inside, comparing it to her and Bamora grabbing the ninjas' explosives and scattering them throughout his castle body. Reptilian realizes his grave mistake and starts moving frenetically, trying to shake them out of his body as they play with his inner organs, causing him immense pain. Momo exclaims that it won't work because they had managed to cling onto a plane when flying through a typhoon and she insults him, stating that she wouldn't have let him and his ally get away after what they had done to her grandmother. As Momo and Bamora exit his body and the former prepares a Moe Moe Tri-Beam, Reptilian's desperately shouts that he's a ninja as the bombs inside him are ignited by Momo, blowing him to smithereens and ending the battle.

Reptilian disguised as the Matsue Castle. The primary strength of this ability is Reptilian being able to camouflage to render himself invisible to the naked eye, making it useful to avoid being put out of harm's way during confrontations. In his true form, this power follows a different principle. Rather than blend with his surroundings, Reptilian's camouflage has his castle body mimic the appearance of a separate, distinct fortress, effectively disguising himself as part of a particular surrounding landscape, such as the Matsue Castle in Shimane. Reptilian's camouflage can be countered by opponents capable of detecting presence beyond visual cues, such as Momo, who used her aura sensing ability to pinpoint his location. His ability appears to restrict his movements, necessitating that he remains stationary while camouflage, as Reptilian was unable to engage Bamora in combat while hiding around a nearby pillar. However, this limitation may stem less from the mechanics of the camouflage itself and more from Reptilian's lack of proficiency in direct confrontation.

While collaborating with Enenra on their mission to acquire Momo and Seiko's powers, Reptilian had himself camouflage as the Matsue Castle for when Enenra lures them inside and into trap. In his confrontation with Momo and Bamora, Reptilian camouflaged himself to the interior of the castle to hide from his enemies while having his ninjas fight them.

Reptilian surrounding his enemies with a squad of spawned ninjas. The main strength of this power is Reptilian having full control over the environmental layout of his castle body, enabling him to freely modify and reshape it for specific reasons. This includes generating structures such as vertical wooden plank walls or triggering trap mechanisms by opening flooring panels. Despite the castle being part of his body, it appears that any damage done to the interior does not equal harm to Reptilian, having shown no signs of pain as pillars and flooring were being destroyed in his and Enenra's confrontation against Momo, Seiko, Jiji, Evil Eye, and Bamora. In addition to controlling the interior, he possesses the ability to clone himself to confront intruders directly and can spawn humanoid ninjas with tools from within his own body, entities he likens to bifidobacteria.

|
When operating within his body, Reptilian can prevent his enemies from taking escape routes by using the wooden planks to create a barrier and can split up enemy groups by opening the flooring and have them trap on a lower level of the castle. In terms of confrontation against his enemies, he uses his camouflage ability to conceal his presence while having his spawned ninjas fight on his behalf.
