Rokuro Serpo (セルポ 6郎 Serupo 6rō?) is a Serpo who allied himself with Momo and her allies to destroy the data the Kur stole from his brethren and to stop their invasion on Earth. Following this event, Rokuro was deemed a defect by the Serpos and was banished, leading to him becoming an independent clone.

In Dandadan, he serves as a major supporting character.

Appearance[]

While identical to his fellow Serpo, Rokuro is the only one among his clones who possesses eyes that makes him distinguishable. He also possesses two thick vertical scars that run down both sides of his face and across his eyes, inflicted on him after the Kur attacked the Serpo.

Personality[]

Rokuro is unique among the Serpos. Instead of allowing his duplicates to capture Momo, Rokuro made the choice to send them away as a truce for helping him turn them back to normal after being controlled by the Imotako Kur. He also demonstrated compassion. Following the battle with the Imotako Kur, Rokuro planned to use a needle he had stored within himself to heal Momo when the chance arose. However, during the Kur invasion, he decided to use the tool to treat Bamora's lethal injury caused by the Hastur Kur, helping both her and Momo who tried desperately to save her. While still affiliated with his duplicates, Rokuro was faithful and devoted to his kind, having chosen to collaborate with Momo and her companions to destroy the Serpo data the Kur had pilfered, even bequeathing this mission to Momo as his dying wish before his temporary demise. Following his banishment, Rokuro decides to use his independence to work for a living, but due to his poor pay, he's frequently shown to ask people in other occupations what their hourly wage is.

Space Globalists Arc[]

After the Kur's attack on the Serpos, Rokuro pursued the Imotako Kur to Moe Moe Kikoho in order to retrieve the technology the invaders stole and restore the Serpos to their original state after their data had been altered by the Kur to become obedient slaves. There, he rescues Momo from their assault and seeks her assistance in restoring his duplicates. After the Imotako Kur reveals himself to reclaim control over the Serpos, Rokuro directs Momo to defeat the alien using an attack based on her psychokinesis, since the foe is assaulting from another dimension and her supernatural powers can bypass the space. By the time Momo develops her Moe Moe Tri-Beam to defeat the Imotako Kur, Rokuro suffers severe damage from the onslaught of the altered Serpos. He then makes the choice to teleport the Serpos away from Momo just as they are about to capture her, calling it as a truce in gratitude for her help.

As Momo bandages her wounds, Rokuro gets her up to date of what he knows so far about the aliens who attacked his people and requests that she take him with her to check on her friends if they were also attacked by the Kur. Though she initially objects to taking him, Momo agrees in order to disguise herself and enter a Manga Cafe, as it is around the time she needed to hide from Reiko Kashima. During their stay, Rokuro pulls out an extendable needle from his abdomen to pierce Momo with but quickly retracts it back after she wakes up from the front desk man knocking on the door to check on them. Rokuro and Momo then resume their disguise after the employee enters. However, Rokuro almost gives them away after giving the employee permission to check to see his panties and his second dress shirt. Momo then employs her psychic abilities to entangle her arm bandage around the mirror held by the employee, discerning his possession by Reiko Kashima. Once the possession is lifted and the employee dashes away apologizing for his abrupt incivility to a customer, Momo reprimands Rokuro for his antics and questions the retractable needle on his chest. In response, Rokuro deflects by inquiring whether Momo has ever been the object of a confession, irritating her further.

Later, Rokuro is taken by Momo to her house. While outside, Rokuro witnesses Momo driving Bamora away after she accuses the girl of being in league with the enemy. He then inquires why Momo is crying after driving an enemy away, only to be told by Momo that she isn't crying. This leads him to comment on his inability to understand Earthlings, a sentiment Momo concurs with. After Momo states her intentions to find the Kur and avenge her injured friends, Rokuro informs her that the base of their enemies would have to be at a nearby pyramid-level transmission system, thus a Kofun burial mound. Later, he convenes with Aira, Jiji, and Mr. Mantis Shrimp, where Momo informs him that the Kur have seized Okarun's kintama. This reinforces his suspicion that they are space globalists plotting to invade Earth by using Okarun's kintama to energize their warp gate and summon their main force. Upon deducing that the main force would arrive in roughly five days, Rokuro shares his ideas on locating the Kur before time runs out. However, he expresses doubts about their ability to defeat them, which Momo contests. He then becomes shocked to learn that the group has met Ludris after hearing Momo's conversation with Mr. Mantis Shrimp about borrowing his ship to pick up her grandmother and is prompted to reveal the alien's celebrated identity. With the group deciding that their next course of action should be to get stronger through training, Rokuro recommends that they move elsewhere to avoid being targeting again and suggests the region of Nagi Hospital.

After finishing their training, the group sets out for the location where the exosuit aliens are gearing up to summon their main force. Upon arrival, Rokuro notices that the enemy's warp gate is already active, with small ships having passed through it. As they come under attack from the exosuit aliens, Momo leads Rokuro to shut down the warp gate as instructed, while Aira, Jiji, and Mr. Mantis Shrimp engage in combat with their adversaries. En route, the pair is intercepted by two exosuit aliens. Rokuro employs his psychokinesis to form a shield, protecting Momo from the barrage of bullets unleashed by the mecha exosuit alien, and requests for her to swiftly defeat them before his shield fails. After the shield collapses, Bamora makes a sudden appearance to attack the exosuit aliens but ends up mortally injured by the Spatial Exosuit Alien. Rokuro erects another barrier to shield Momo from the Jet Booster Exosuit Alien while she frantically tries to use her powers to heal Bamora. With his strength weakening and Momo becoming too prioritized in healing Bamora to concentrate on defeating the Jet Booster Exosuit Alien trying to breach the shield, Rokuro is forced to resort to using his needle appendage — originally intended for Momo if she were mortally wounded — to treat Bamora's wound and save her life. Rokuro then makes his final plea to Momo, asking her to erase the Serpo data stolen by the exosuit aliens by destroying their suits, before he lowers his shield and succumbs to his injuries.

Unbeknownst to Momo and the others, Rokuro managed to be saved by Mr. Mantis Shrimp using the nanoskin to reconstruct the missing parts to his body. Following the invasion ending with Reiko Kashima destroying the invading fleet, Rokuro visits the Ayase residence to express his thanks to Momo for fulfilling her promise to destroy the Serpo data from the exosuit aliens. He then becomes prompted to make an immediate departure following Momo's insistence that he rid himself of any intentions of further aggression towards her and her allies.

Danmanra Arc[]

Eventually, Rokuro went back to the Serpos, only to be banished by his clones due to his association with the Family leading to a divergence in mentality. Rokuro then went on to acquire a part-time job at a convenience store.

While working a shift, Rokuro encounters Momo and Okarun as they come into the convenience store looking to buy a maneki-neko doll. After he explains to them his situation with the Serpos, Rokuro is enlisted Momo's help to hack into the Kamikoshi Police Box's computer and find out who claimed Okarun's second kintama. Though he agrees to help her and was fortunate enough to have an employee cover his shift, Rokuro demands for Momo to take responsibility if he were to lose his job. At the police box, Rokuro uses his nanoskin to disguise himself as a police officer and enters to look into the computer files. However, after Bega returns from patrol, he unexpectedly encounters him at the door and engages in a fight against him. To resolve their dispute, Rokuro fabricates a tale about being a fellow police officer named Tanaka, dispatched to the police box to inspect the lost property records and that he could not help himself but to start a fight with with him given his reputation. As Bega uses his phone to call the police box and verify Rokuro's claim, Rokuro discreetly uses his nanoskin to tap into Bega's phone and act as the voice of the police officer confirming his assignment. After this works to convince Bega, Rokuro manages to acquire the information on who claimed Okarun's second kintama and informs Momo and Okarun that the person is Unji Zuma of Renjaku High School.

Later, as Bega chases down Okarun and Rin for being out passed curfew, Rokuro becomes prompted to follow them in hopes that they can help him get a lead on a new part-time job. This action then leads him to entering the inner world of the cursed trunk, along with Okarun, Turbo Granny, and Bega. After catching up with Okarun, Rokuro uses his nanoskin to construct a convenience store counter as a way to shield Okarun from a shockwave blast fired by Umbrella Boy Unji. He and Bega then engage Umbrella Boy Unji in battle with their weapons. Okarun also offers assistance, proposing that Rokuro build a jetpack to combat Umbrella Boy Unji mid-flight. However, this plan ends up failing due to Umbrella Boy Unji being shrouded by the air currents, thwarting Rokuro's attempt to get near him. Rokuro then proceeds to execute Okarun's second request to construct a large heater to warm the air, with the plan being to generate a tornado to force Umbrella Boy Unji to the ground where they can fight him up close. After Okarun retrieves his kintama from Umbrella Boy Unji, activating Turbo Granny's power to combat the possessed youth, Rokuro assists by employing his psychokinesis to levitate debris, creating footholds for Okarun to reach Umbrella Boy Unji mid-air.

While everyone trapped inside the cursed trunk gather together, Rokuro becomes pre-occupied with trying to find a good paying part-time job. Eventually, he and the others find themselves being lifted up the air by Rin, from the other side, using Mai's Onbusuman gravity powers to bring the captives out of the cursed trunk. In response to the unexpected event, Rokuro clings to Okarun's leg, while Bega grips onto his. In this instant, Rokuro catches Okarun's confession to Momo and queries about the emotion Okarun is experiencing at the time. Rokuro, Okarun, and Bega ascend after Momo has Okarun let go of her hand, urging him to defeat the Fairy-Tale Card so she can break free from the cursed trunk. While being lifted up in the air, Rokuro voices his worries about the store manager being angry with him if he does not return to his post. He, Okarun, and Bega then plummet after Rin's gravitational song is ceased by the Fairy-Tale Card. Utilizing his nanoskin, Rokuro creates a jetpack to stay airborne while being forced to carry Okarun and Bega as they cling to his legs. This prompts him to request that they let go since the additional weight hinders his ascent.

Rokuro manages to fly out him, Okarun, and Bega out of the cursed trunk and back into the real world where Count Saint-Germain is currently battling the Fairy-Tale Card. While fleeing from the Fairy-Tale Cards tendrils targeting them, Rokuro recognizes the eyeless man talking to Okarun as Count Saint-Germain and inquires why he is here. After Count Saint-Germain tells Rokuro that he cannot explain his reason at the moment, Rokuro uses his particle beam to destroy one of the Fairy-Tale Cards' cards, only to see it regenerate from one of his bulbs. This leads to Count Saint-Germain explaining to him and Okarun the yokai's weakness; that they must destroy all cards simultaneously to prevent him from regenerating. To achieve this, Rokuro is instructed by Count Saint-Germain to aim his beam at the eye card upon receiving his signal, while he and Okarun focus on destroying the remaining cards. Rokuro then inquiries about the hourly rate for the task, to which the man responds that he will consider it later. With Unji also helping using his Umbrella Boy shockwave blast, the four manage to defeat the Fairy-Tale Card.

Nanoskin [v · e]
Rokuro's nanoskin

Rokuro acquired Ludris' nanoskin via Mr. Mantis Shrimp as a lifesaving measure amidst the climax of the Kur invasion. As a result, Rokuro gained the ability to shape his nanoskin body extensions into a variety of forms.

Usage
Rokuro particle beam

Rokuro shapes his nanoskin into a particle beam firing convenience store counter.

Rokuro is able to use his nanoskin for infiltration by altering it into clothing for quick disguises and employing it to hack into technological devices to retrieve information, like data from a computer. However, due to the limited quantity of nanoskin, Rokuro cannot create a mask to fully complete his disguise. In his confrontation against Umbrella Boy Unji, Rokuro formed a convenience store counter that can fire a particle beam from its scanner, offering him protection against his enemy's shockwave attacks while he counterattacked, and constructed jet propellers on his back and arms. He also employed his nanoskin as part of Okarun's strategy to bring the airborne Umbrella Boy Unji to the ground, creating a large heater powered by their combined running in an effort to generate a whirlwind that would draw him in.
