Spiral Power (螺旋の力 Rasen no chikara?) is the concept of harnessing spiral dynamics to amplify an individual's abilities.

Overview[]

Spirals in the Universe

The constant presence of spirals in the universe.

According to Seiko, the spiral dynamics of Spiral Power can be applied to virtually anything, with its most common integration being sports and martial arts, as individuals harnesses the precision and momentum of spiral motions to dramatically enhance their performance. Much like the Power of Words, Spiral Power thrives on simplicity, making it easy to utilize on the spot. However, when wielded in combat, it becomes an undeniable force, with Seiko claiming that its integration in battle is a guaranteed method for overcoming even the most formidable adversaries.

Molecular Chirality[]

The application of molecular chirality to Spiral Power-based techniques significantly influences how energy interacts with different types of beings.

Jiji lands a hit on Enenra

Jiji landing a hit on an ethereal enemy (L-form) with a clockwise rotating (D-form) Evil Gun.

In biochemistry, molecular structures generally exhibit one of two chiral orientations: L-form (L体 L-tai?), characterized by a left rotation, and D-form (D体 D-tai?), characterized by a right rotation. L-form molecules (such as the twenty amino acids that comprise human proteins) are typically associated with loosening energy, while D-form molecules (such as sugars and genetic material) are linked to energy containment. Within the context of Spiral Power, this principle can be adapted into a combat framework. When confronting a corporeal target, classified as a D-form entity, a Spiral Power technique that rotates counterclockwise (leftward) can effectively destabilize their physical structure. Conversely, when facing an ethereal foe, described as smoke-like and energetically diffuse, akin to an L-form, a clockwise (rightward) rotation is more effective, enabling containment and disruption of their loosely bound energy.

This application was greatly demonstrated by Jiji during his battle with the smoke yokai Enenra, having been taught this principle by Seiko to optimize the performance of his Evil Gun, which he utilized to successfully make contact and injure his ethereal enemy.

Applications[]

Turbo Granny[]

The Turbo Granny was shown to ride the spiraling signal waves of a telephone call while possessing Okarun as a curse. She is very knowledgeable of the existence of spirals found in the world and taught Okarun how to wield it properly, who later shared this knowledge to his allies.

Kinta Sakata[]

Kinta applies Spiral Power when piloting the Great Kinta or any other construction made from nanoskin. During his battle with Bamora's kaiju suit on autopilot, he controlled the Great Kinta to perform the Super Electrowave Spin, a technique where he has the mecha perform a spinning divebomb onto his opponent while they are down. Later, he and Bamora controlled a giant nanoskin jetpack attached to the kajiu suit's back and perform a spinning powerbomb to finish off Hastur who was piloting the suit.

Momo Ayase[]

Momo previously utilized Spiral Power to defeat Bamora's kaiju suit while it operated on autopilot. By employing her psychokinesis, she manipulated the Great Kinta to elevate the suit into the sky, with her psychic arms intricately intertwined, and subsequently unwound them to rapidly spin the suit and forcefully bring it crashing down into the ground to execute a forceful powerbomb.

Okarun[]

Okarun utilizes Spiral Power as a way to use Turbo Granny's spiritual power to enter and travel within telephone cables by following along the spiral-shaped magnetic field flowing around the current.

Jiji[]

Jiji harnesses Spiral Power to tap into the power of the Evil Eye by merging his ki with the yokai's and having both rotate. In his battle against Suda Ko and Ta Komeshi, he infused the Evil Eye's grudge summoning power to his Evil Gun, resulting in the shape of the energy beam twisting. Jiji went on to utilize the honed Evil Gun against the Typhoon Human and Enenra, while also being fused with the Evil Eye.

Aira Shiratori[]

Aira applies Spiral Power to her Acrobatic Silky hair, having it form drills around her legs or her entire body to pierce straight through her opponents in an attack named Pirouette Noble Drill.

Evil Eye[]

The Evil Eye previously showcased his ability to harness Spiral Power against a Kur, striking its exosuit with a punch infused with his grudge summoning power that was unleashed in a spiraling motion. While fused with Jiji, he displays the same skills of the boy and his spinning ki energy blasts.

Bamora[]

Bamora once utilized Spiral Power together with Kinta to control a giant nanoskin jetpack attached to the kajiu suit's back and perform a spinning powerbomb to finish off Hastur who was piloting the suit.

Typhoon Human[]

The cryptid made use of the power generated naturally by its spiraling evaporating currents, present in every typhoon.

Unji Zuma[]

Unji synergized with Jiji's Evil Gun, which utilizes spiral power, by opening his last umbrella onto it, forming a devastating hail that instantly mixed the cold and hot water under the Typhoon Human, causing it to dissipate.

Enenra[]

The yokai spun smoke behind his arm before striking, mixing it with the Power of Words, to unleash an insanely strong punch which sent Seiko flying tens of meters.
