Spiritual powers (霊力, Reiryoku^?) are supernatural abilities harnessed by both the dead and the living. While aligned with both, it is a power primarily accessible and utilized by spirits, as humans are rarely able to manifest it.

Spiritual beings, such as yokai, earthbound spirits, and guardian spirits, and humans alike possess an innate reservoir of spiritual power that allows them to utilize various abilities. While this type of power is accessible to spirits from the moment they come into existence, it lies dormant within humans, and few ever unlock this potential, as its awakening is unpredictable and differs from person to person, making those who wield it rare and remarkable. Those who are able to harness their spiritual power acquire the ability to see spiritual beings, as well as other spiritual phenomena. Humans with heightened spiritual awareness are likely to be attacked by yokai, should the yokai realize that the human can detect their presence. Even rarer than a human capable of harnessing spiritual power is one who possesses an immense, almost boundless reservoir of it. Those blessed with such reserves are regarded as "prodigies" (才だ, Saida^?).

Spiritual power is apparently not always permanent and can return to lying dormant over time, gradually fading until an external force reignites it. Aira, for instance, was once able to see Acrobatic Silky when she was a child but remained oblivious to her presence in later years. It was only upon encountering Okarun's kintama that her spiritual power was reawakened, restoring her ability to perceive the supernatural.

Although unlocking spiritual power is a gradual process for humans, various external factors can accelerate this awakening, such as coming into contact with an object imbued with great amounts of spiritual power, such as Okarun's kintama that were imbued with a great amount of lifeforce from Turbo Granny.

Supernatural abilities granted by spiritual power differ widely. However, common capabilities for yokai seems to most notably be curses and possession.

Energy Source and Inheritance[]

Spiritual power stems from two distinct forces — ki and auras. Humans harness ki, the internal energy that fuels their supernatural abilities that they gain through training, while yokai draw from auras, a life-force energy that maintains their existence.

Humans can acquire yokai-type spiritual power by possessing a yokai's aura. Aira was able to gain Acrobatic Silky's abilities after the yokai willingly had Momo transfer her aura to the dying girl. In the case of Okarun, he unintentionally obtained Turbo Granny's spiritual power after Seiko and Momo removed only the yokai's consciousness from him while she was concealed within his body. Once obtained, the wielder can summon their newfound power at will, though initial activation often requires a trigger—typically the urgency to protect a loved one or an ally. This type of supernatural ability manifests through a mask, symbolizing its influence, and carries the side effect of altering the wielder's personality.

Yokai powers can be inherited through other various means. A yokai can willingly bestow their abilities upon a chosen individual, as seen with Umbrella Boy and Unji Zuma. Others have their power forcibly taken and later transferred, such as Count Saint-Germain and Hase, who both wielded the stolen abilities of Jumping Crone, contained within a kogai and an Asura kozuka knife.
