WARNING! |
Sumerian Platoon vs. Kur is a battle that took place on Sumer during the invasion of the Kur. The Kur had tricked the last sumerian forces, which included Bamora, Banga, Tome and Aja, telling them that 3000 soldiers were still alive in the West. The platoon took off to reunite at the rendezvous point, but once they arrived, they were caught in a deadly ambush.
Prologue[]
The Kur invading Sumer.
The planet Sumer is invaded by the Kur and they easily take over the land, destroying everything in their path. Bamora, a small child, is left alone on the battlefield but she's brought out of harm's way by Banga, an old woman who has joined a sumerian rebellion to fend off the invaders. Her two closest allies are Tome and Aja, both elderly women just like her because most of the men were already killed or enslaved. Bamora grows up for a decade in their squad and their sumerian platoon seems to be the last one still standing. They could be wiped out in just one fight so the leader sends out scouts to hopefully find other groups and regain forces. Somehow the Kur tricks them and has them believe there's a battalion of over three thousand sumerians residing in the West. Banga is skeptical and doesn't think they'll survive by the time they reach them, but with no other choice, they depart and venture through the forests.
The platoon reaches the rendezvous point.
On their way, they bump into a Big Mama surrounded by Kur, being fed the captured sumerian soldiers. The platoon watches from behind a hill, teaching Bamora that Big Mamas produce the exosuits the Kur wield. She wants to rescue them however they suggest not to, because they'll ultimately end up like them if they don't group up with the other remaining forces and fight with numbers. They set off once again and after journeying through the valleys, they finally reach the rendezvous point which is shockingly empty. The soldiers look around in confusion but Banga spots a hologram and alerts the others, prompting the Kur who were hiding with said technology to open fire.
Battle[]
The sumerians trying to push back the Kur.
The soldier next to Banga is immediately shot in the head so she tries to protect Bamora with her body. Noticing countless aliens targeting them with firearms and rockets, the soldiers scramble to survive, with some shooting back with their rifles while others opt to run back into the forest and find some coverage. Banga and Bamora turn around when suddenly another sumerian's head explodes, revealing that Takonoka Ru Patcho, Ta Komeshi and many others were waiting for them in the bushes, cornering them on a hill from both sides as they unleash their arsenal. Ta Komeshi's anti gravity beam cuts the battlefield in half and limits their movement, making it nearly impossible to dodge Takonoka Ru Patcho's missiles. The leader shouts to stick together and cover each other's back, but the total chaos makes it hard to coordinate.
The last sumerian troops dying in the ambush.
Suddenly, Bamora's backpack is blown apart by a stray and she drops down in a panic attack, covering her head. Banga spots her and grabs her, leaping out of a blast zone. Banga screams at the child, telling her to focus and start moving if she doesn't want to die. Aja, Tome and the captain spot an escape path and shout to the remaining soldiers to follow them, covering them with support fire. Many sumerians can't even come near them without getting tore apart by the flying enemy projectiles. Bamora runs forward in fear as more and more people die near her, including the leader whose head is blown away. Bamora, Banga, Tome and Aja manage to slip away while the rest of the platoon is minced and caught in explosions, wiping it out and putting an end to the terrible ambush.
Aftermath[]
Bamora, Banga, Tome and Aja hiding in a cave.
The four last sumerians find shelter in a small cave far away in the forest, sitting helplessly inside as they try to tolerate the pain induced by their countless injuries. Bamora looks at Banga and notices a pool of blood near her hip, so she reaches over to dress the wound. Banga refuses to be called mother by her and furiously knocks the bandaid out of Bamora's hand, shouting that it's the last one and she doesn't need it. Bamora is concerned why she's always acting this way but the woman tells her not to look at her like she's family, clarifying that they are strangers despite the many years they spent together. She explains to her that she cannot trust others because it's the main reason why their planet is doomed and there's no way to save it now.
