This is the article on the member of the Kur. For the exosuit, head to Ta Komeshi.

Ta Komeshi (タ・コメシ?) was a Kur and a member of his race's Advance Unit.

In Dandadan, he serves as a major antagonist during the Space Globalists Arc.

Appearance[]

The Kur had never been seen outside of his exosuit. Nonetheless, being a Kur, he was presumed to share the octopus-like physiology characteristic of his species.

Personality[]

Like all Kur, Ta Komeshi was malicious towards lifeforms in the cosmos, seeing them merely as "material" to mass produce exosuits for his kind. While normally reserved, he was visibly shocked and terrified when confronted with the Evil Eye's grudge ki, unleashed after Jiji combined it with his Evil Gun to defeat him and Suda Ko.

Background[]

Ta Komeshi participated in his species' invasion of Sumer, most notably during the ambush on the all-female resistance unit.[1] Later, he was among the select Kur assigned to guard the hundreds of Sumerian men gathered as offerings for a Big Mama. When a riot erupted, sparked by the intrusion of Bamora, Banga, Tome, and Aja in their attempt to reach the warp gate pyramid, Ta Komeshi and Ta Kowasa subdued Tome and Aja.[2] Their assault was abruptly halted when Banga, piloting an exosuit being held in storage, intervened to appeared to rescue Bamora from being devoured by the Big Mama and forcefully repelled the Kur attacking her comrades.[3] Shortly after, Ta Komeshi entered the pyramid with his team to find Banga using the warp gate to send Bamora to Earth.[4]

Kintama Hunt Saga[]

Kaiju Arc[]

Following Bamora's escape to Earth, the Kur Advance Unit transported themselves to the same planet to track her down. There, they raided the Serpo at their base, acquiring their devices, data, and information about the Family's special powers that could accelerate their plan to summon their main fleet for another invasion. During this, the team received a signal from Bamora's exosuit accidently set off by Jiji, revealing their location.[5]

Space Globalists Arc[]

Space Globalists defeat Aira and Evil Eye

Takonoka Ru Patcho, Ta Komeshi, and Suda Ko defeat Aira and the Evil Eye.

Later, the Advance Unit confronts the Family, with Ta Komeshi, Takonoka Ru Patcho, and Suda Ko confronting Aira and Jiji as they walk home from school.[6] Ta Komeshi targets Jiji as he flees and has him caught within his shockwave field. He then notices his change in appearance as the Evil Eye after Aira tosses a bucket of water to have the yokai take his place in fighting against the enemy.[7] However, with the Evil Eye honoring his promise to Okarun to reserve his violence towards him alone, Ta Komeshi is given an opening to launch an assault with a barrage of punches and an anti-gravity beam, resulting in the yokai being incapacitated, along with Aira being dealt by Takonoka Ru Patcho. Before they could capture them, Aira uses her Acrobatic Silky hair to provide cover to make her escape with the Evil Eye. This prompts the team to open fire on the Empty Space Kamigoe City to prevent them from going far. However, with their time to stay in the area run out, the three make their leave without their targets.[8]

Evil Gun

Ta Komeshi struck by Jiji's Evil Gun.

After obtaining Okarun's kintama to energize their warp gate and summon their main force, Ta Komeshi, Takonoka Ru Patcho, Ta Kowasa, Suda Ko, and the mantis exosuit Kur stand guard against any intruders in their Empty Space. When the Family arrives, Takonoka Ru Patcho and Suda Ko attack their vehicle to halt their advance.[9] However, Momo, Aira, Jiji, Mr. Mantis Shrimp, and Rokuro escape the wreckage unharmed and engage the Kur in combat.[10] Ta Komeshi restrains Aira during her clash with Ta Kowasa and activates his exosuit's harmful shockwave field. This is disrupted when Jiji fires his newly created Evil Gun at the Kur, resulting in him releasing Aira and his exosuit taking slight damage.[11] After Ta Kowasa is defeated by Jiji, Ta Komeshi, Takonoka Ru Patcho, and Suda Ko fire their exosuit's projectile blasts against Jiji's Evil Gun and ultimately overpower him.[12]

Jiji defeats Ta Komeshi and Suda Ko

Ta Komeshi and Suda Ko defeated by Jiji.

After Aira resumes her battle with Takonoka Ru Patcho, Ta Komeshi and Suda Ko once again launch their beams to counter Jiji's Evil Gun after he gets back on his feet. Ta Komeshi remarks on Jiji's incredible capacity to unleash more power and believes that he would make for a good exosuit, prompting Suda Ko to assert his claim over the weapon if it happens. Following Jiji tapping into the Evil Eye's ki to combine it with his Evil Gun and overpower his enemies' blasts, the Kur duo is caught off guard by the grudge manifestation heading their way and is defeated when struck by the ki blast.[13]
