This is the article on the member of the Kur. For the exosuit, head to Ta Kowasa.

Ta Kowasa (タ・コワサ) is a Kur and a member of his race's Advance Unit.

In Dandadan, he serves as a major antagonist during the Space Globalists Arc.

Appearance[]

As a Kur, Takonoka Ru Patcho resembles a small octopus with striped tentacles for a mouth.

Personality[]

Befitting a Kur, Ta Kowasa shows no empathy for the lifeforms of the cosmos and proves to be utterly ruthless, having used the mechanical arms of his exosuit to inflict pain to Aja by squeezing her head and tried to turn Jiji into an empty husk by draining all of his ki.

Background[]

Ta Kowasa participated in his species' invasion of Sumer, most notably during a feeding of female Sumerians to produce exosuits, one of which bore a resemblance to their god.[1] Later, he was among the select Kur assigned to guard the hundreds of Sumerian men gathered as offerings for a Big Mama. When a riot erupted, sparked by the intrusion of Bamora, Banga, Tome, and Aja in their attempt to reach the warp gate pyramid to escape Sumer, Ta Kowasa and Ta Komeshi subdued Tome and Aja.[2] Their assault was then abruptly halted when Banga, piloting the Sumerian god exosuit, intervened to appeared to rescue Bamora from being devoured by the Big Mama and forcefully repelled the Kur attacking her comrades.[3] Shortly after, Ta Kowasa entered the pyramid with his team to find Banga using the warp gate to send Bamora to Earth.[4]

Synopsis[]

Kintama Hunt Saga[]

Space Globalists Arc[]

Upon reaching Earth in search of Bamora, the Advance Unit encountered the Serpo at their base and initiated an attack on the aliens. After discovering data about Momo, Okarun, Aira, and Jiji, who are linked to their target and identified as potential optimal energy sources for activating a warp gate to call forth their main force, the unit divided to ambush each of them separately.

Okarun vs the Space Globalists

The Advance Unit launching an assault on Okarun.

Ta Kowasa joins Hastur's team to pursue Okarun, while the others focus on Momo, Aira, and Jiji. After they track him down on the road as he was leaving the Ayase residence, the team launches an attack against the human to acquire his kintama as a power source for their warp gate.[5][6] While Ta Kowasa and the other members of his team prove to be no match for Okarun, Hastur and the jet booster exosuit member manage to inflict enough damage to incapacitate him. Ta Kowasa then restrains his unconscious body, allowing the jet booster exosuit member to extract his kintama. When Ta Kowasa asks what to do with Okarun, Hastur instructs him to bring him along for further investigation of his internal anatomy. However, Ta Kowasa's extra arms holding Okarun are destroyed by Mr. Mantis Shrimp suddenly appearing to rescue Okarun.[7] Not bothering to fight Mr. Mantis Shrimp to reclaim Okarun, the team opt to leave.[8]

Momo going on ahead

The Kur clashing against the Family during the invasion.

After activating their warp gate using Okarun's kintama to summon their main force, Ta Kowasa stands guard against any intruders in their Empty Space alongside Takonoka Ru Patcho, Ta Komeshi, Suda Ko, and the mantis exosuit Kur. Upon the Family's arrival, the team launch an attack on their vehicle but ultimately battle against Aira, Jiji, and Mr. Mantis Shrimp after they managed to escape the wreckage unharmed.[9][10] As Mr. Mantis Shrimp clashes with the mantis exosuit Kur, Ta Kowasa intervenes, using his exosuit's mechanical arms to hold the enemy in place and create an opening for Suda Ko to take a shot with his rifle. However, Aira uses her Acrobatic Silky hair to grab the arms, pull Mr. Mantis Shrimp out of the way of Suda Ko's line of fire, and moves in to deliver a kick to Ta Kowasa.[11] After Aira's attempt to attack the mantis exosuit Kur is thwarted by Takonoka Ru Patcho, Ta Kowasa has her restrained for Suda Ko to fire his rifle at her. However, Jiji deflects the blast with his ki attack, while Mr. Mantis Shrimp moves in to punch Ta Kowasa, forcing him to release Aira. Ta Kowasa makes another attempt to restrain Aira but ends up entangled in her Acrobatic Silky hair. Just as Aira moves in to deliver a kick, Ta Komeshi intervenes from behind, restraining her and harming her with his shockwave field.[12]

Ta Kowasa Explodes

Ta Kowawa's exosuit destroyed from absorbing Jiji's ki.

After being released from Aira's bind, Ta Kowasa shifts to targeting Jiji.[13] Following Jiji firing his newly created Evil Gun, Ta Kowasa restrains Jiji, viewing his energy as being dangerous, and attempts to absorb it all with his exosuit. However, this proved to be his downfall as Jiji's abundance of ki causes the exosuit to overheat until it explodes. The Kur then chooses to leave his damage suit behind, resulting in him being incapable of fighting for the remainder of the invasion.[14] His fate after the invasion is left unknown; however, considering that his species cannot endure life on foreign planets without exosuits, it is highly probable that he succumbed to Earth's gravity and perished.
