The Ta Kowasa Kur was a Kur of the Advance Unit who wielded the Ta Kowasa.

In Dandadan, he serves as a major antagonist during the Space Globalists Arc.

Appearance[]

Ta Kowasa Kur can be considered a "normal" member of the Kur race, as his appearance is similar to that of an octopus, with a set of tentacles instead of a mouth. His size is medium in comparison to other members of his species, which are larger.

Personality[]

During the Kur Invasion, Ta Kowasa Kur proved to be an agile and quite strong member of the Advance Unit. When attempting to extract Jiji's energy, he thought he could drain him of all his energy and turn him into an empty shell. However, by becoming overconfident, he failed to realize it was too much energy, and due to his arrogance, his suit ended up exploding from overheating.

Background[]

During the invasion of Sumer, the Ta Kowasa Kur is found retrieving the exosuits crafted by the Big Mama to export them. When the rescue attempt of the Sumerian men fails, he's seen approaching Bamora while holding a screaming and struggling Aja in his mechanical arms. Banga, now wearing the God of Sumer exosuit, whips her tail towards the Ta Kowasa Kur, getting Aja out of the Kur's grasp. Thanks to Banga's speech, all the men rush towards the aliens and overwhelm them. The Ta Kowasa Kur gets covered by a lot of males, chipping him with rocks and punches. Right after Bamora escapes to Idea by using the Warp Gate, he, along with some members of the Advance Unit, catch Banga near the Sumerian tablet and begin torturing Aja to have her activate the inner mechanism of the Pyramid.

Despite Reiko Kashima's annihilating the main Kur fleet, his death was never confirmed.

Synopsis[]

Space Globalists Arc[]

After the Advance Unit arrived on Earth in search of Bamora, the team commenced an attack on the Serpos and subsequently engaged Okarun, Aira, Jiji, and Momo. Okarun weaves through the multitude of the Ta Kowasa Kur's attacks and lands a powerful kick which sends him rolling down the fields. With the Kintama obtained, he grabs the defeated target and asks Hastur Kur what do with him, to which he replies to collect him and investigate his internal anatomy. Mr. Mantis Shrimp delivers a powerful blow which cuts the Ta Kowasa's mechanical arm and frees Okarun. The team departs with Okarun's kintama, intending to energize their warp gate and call forth their primary fleet for an impending invasion..

At the start of the Kur Invasion, Mr. Mantis Shrimp throws a jab at him which he's able to block with his mechanical arms. The Dover Demon rushes towards the Mantis Exosuit Kur and takes this opportunity to restrain him, giving the Suda Ko Kur an easy shot. Before this could happen, his arms get pulled to the side by Aira's Acrobatic Silky Hair, saving Peeny Weeny and delivering a strong kick which sends the Ta Kowasa Kur crashing into a building, though this barely scratches him.

He tries to immobilize Aira but she splits her hair to get a superior number of arms and traps him inside a cocoon. She approaches him to deal the final blow but she's captured by the Ta Komeshi Kur's six cylindrical limbs and immediately activates his shockwave field, hurting her enough to make her lose her grip thus freeing his ally.

Immediately after Jiji deploys his Evil Gun on the Ta Komeshi Kur to save Aira, the Ta Kowasa Kur notices his spike in power and takes hold of him, planting his fingers in his chest and declaring he's going to absorb all of his dangerous energy until he's an empty husk. Suddenly, his exosuit chips and lots of blood spill out due to the massive quantity of energy being sucked from the Evil Eye. He tries to extract his fingers but they are stuck, so Jiji reveals he has been refining his Chi and expels it voluntarily, overheating the exosuit and causing it to implode. Slowly, the Ta Kowasa Kur is seen exiting the broken down Ta Kowasa.

Equipment[]

Ta Kowasa
The Ta Kowasa features six mechanical arms attached to the exosuit's back that the wearer can control, with their length being 3 meters long.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Ta Kowasa restrains Aira

The arms restraining Aira.

The major strength of the mechanical arms is that they allow the wearer to bind the wearer's targets by grabbing their limbs, which leaves them opened for attacks. The claws of these arms are also strong enough to cause great pain, as Aja gave a look of agony from having her head squeezed by one of them. For defensive purposes, the wearer can put the arms in front of them to block incoming attacks.

As demonstrated by Aira using her Acrobatic Silky hair, an opponent can prevent themselves from being subdued by restraining each arm. Also, the arms are left vulnerable to attacks as long as the wearer keeps them extended to bind their opponent.

Absorption
The Ta Kowasa has the ability to absorb the energy from living beings through its fingers once inserted into their body.
Strengths and Weaknesses

The major strength of this ability is that the wearer can rob their opponent of their energy until they are nothing more than an empty husk. It is unknown if the stolen energy can be used by the Ta Kowasa wearer afterwards.

A major weakness to this ability is that there is a limit as to how much energy the exosuit can absorb. If the wearer continues to absorb energy from a living being who possesses massive reserves, the Ta Kowasa will end up overheating until it explodes. The absorption is automatic once the fingers are inserted into the body and cannot be deactivated by the wearer until the hands are released. The victim can exploit this weakness by physically keeping them trap.
