WARNING! |
The Tsuchinoko (ツチノコ Tsuchinoko?) Hatchling, still considered the Great Snake (大蛇様 Orochi-sama?) like its parent, is the new Mongolian Death Worm that the Kito Family fed to accompany them in their revenge against Momo Ayase.
In Dandadan, the Tsuchinoko serves as a supporting antagonist during the Typhoon Human Arc.
Appearance[]
The Tsuchinoko Hatchling shares many characteristic of its parent, albeit in much smaller proportions, being a worm with a spotted pattern serpent body and a tentacle ringed gaping mouth that has three rows of teeth. It is still bigger than the Mongolian Death Worm which Okarun read about, as those are about 1.5 to 2 meters long in length.
Background[]
After the Byakuja Village Incident, Naki incredibly stumbled upon the deceased Great Serpent's eggs and the family hatched one, feeding it livestock to increase its size. Still, because its diet didn't consists of humans, the Tsuchinoko Hatchling doesn't have access to its parent powers like suicidal psychic waves, electric shocks or poisonous mist. Naki managed to dry up the worm, shrinking its size exponentially, and smuggled it onto the plane directed to Shimane where Momo was heading.

Typhoon Human Arc[]
The Tsuchinoko Hatchling shooting sharks at the Typhoon Human with the Kitos on its back.
With the arrival of the Typhoon Human which forms a truce between the Kito Family and Momo's group, Naki takes the matter into her own hands and throws a Jennifer Lopez Anaconda at the floor, giving her access to the cargo below. She takes out a cologne and spills it on the crate the Tsuchinoko Hatchling is contained, chanting for its arise. The worm returns to its normal size, bursting through the cargo and the plane, reaching into the sky while the Kito Family holds on to his back. Momo and Jiji are obviously shocked as they had defeated it a long time ago so Naki explains how they hatched it and brought it onto the plane. Naki, following Seiko's instructions of throwing frozen sharks at the typhoon to cool it down in order to dissipate it, guides the Mongolian Death Worm by its tentacles, fills it with tens of animals and makes it regurgitate towards the cryptid, all the while praising it as the Great Serpent Lord. They keep barraging the Typhoon Human with sharks but it doesn't have any noticeable effect on the creature, causing Naki to ask the others below how much is it going to take to defeat it, although the messages are hard to carry due to the noise. Suddenly, the nose of the Typhoon Human inhales a couple of sharks and eject them at incredible speeds, obliterating the lower part of the Tsuchinoko Hatchling, launching it into the air. Naki is enraged at the cryptid who hurt their Great Serpent Lord, but they can't do anything as the worm starts flying away and unable to shoot any more sharks as the nose keeps pummeling them with projectiles. Unji, Jiji and Momo, who were on top of the plane after she fell outside through the hole the Tsuchinoko Hatchling bursted out of and managed to save her, grapple onto the worm by using her powers, leaving the plane behind. As they fall down uncontrollably, Momo puts her psychokinetic arm through the entire length of the Kunagari, forming a carp windsock, allowing the wind to pass through and keep them afloat, although Naki is convinced that the creature is using its own powers. They climb the atmosphere onto the Tsuchinoko Hatchling's back, finally spotting the eye of the Typhoon Human, allowing Jiji to emit his Evil Gun and hurt it.

Unfortunately the Typhoon Human regenerates and charges up an electric attack which Naki barely dodges as she commands the worm to turn, the lightning reaching high into the stratosphere. Momo has another idea and instructs Naki to fill the Mongolian Death Worm with more sharks, so when they dive onto the eye, Naki makes it regurgitate them out. Thanks to the properties of electricity, the ice stops it from propagating any further, protecting them. Momo shouts to turn right as they are about to collide with the eye, going under it, confusing Naki as they thought they were attempting a suicide attack. Momo explains that they are going to target the water below the cryptid and stir it up to make it dissipate, however Jiji's Evil Gun doesn't have enough energy and the Tsuchinoko Hatchling has run out of frozen sharks. With the eye of the Typhoon turning to discharge a third lightning, Unji and Jiji combine their powers, forming a devastating turbine that immediately kills the cryptid, saving everybody in the nick of time.
Now that they have finally defeated the Typhoon Human, Naki leads the Tsuchinoko Hatchling towards their hideout and reveals that they are going to bring the teenagers there to turn them into offerings. As the Kitos celebrate while the Evil Eye almosts breaks out after hearing those words, a megalodon appears out of nowhere, swallowing the Tsuchinoko Hatchling and the Kito Family while Momo, Unji and the Evil Eye, who has now taken control, jump off as they were in the back and had more time. The Evil Eye, infuriated, shouts at the family to come out so he can kill them, throwing a powerful kick at the megalodon's belly which has so much force it escapes the Earth's gravity and lands onto the Moon.

The Kito Family and the Tsuchinoko Hatchling, after exiting the giant shark's stomach, wonder where they are as the thin air and low gravity is unlike any place they have ever been. Naki theorizes that Momo just used them to defeat the enemy and then threw them far away once they were done. The Tsuchinoko Hatchling and the Kito Family wander around the Moon's surface while Naki swears revenge on Momo Ayase once again.
