Tsuru (つる?) is a police officer at Byakuja Village and an acquaintance of the Kito Family.[1]

Tsuru is a man with pronounced facial features. He wears the standard uniform for a Byakuja Village police officer, which includes a cap.[1]

After the male members of the Kito family were chased away from Hot Springs Manju by indignant members of the chamber of commerce, officer Tsuru intervened to cover for them and escorted them back to Jiji's house to reunite with the rest of their family.[1]
He returns to the house, now on fire, and asks Momo if she was the arsonist, which she confirms although she immediately shifts the topic to the Kitos who had done human sacrifices for centuries. Tsuru assumes she's talking about the Enjoji family, frustrating Momo, however he orders her to enter the police car so she can get interrogated at the police station. Just as he asks if her parents at home, Momo notices the sunset and she tries to run, shouting to spray more water on the ground to lure out the Mongolian Death Worm, so Tsuru and another cop block her. Just then, the Great Serpent's emerging shakes the ground and Tsuru instructs everyone to stand still, but when it pops out, he and the other civilians run away in fear.
