UMAs (ユーマ Yūma?), short for Unidentified Mysterious Animals (未確認生物 Mikakunin Seibutsu?), or Cryptids, is a term given to beings or animals that are believed to exist in the world, but whose existence is not yet confirmed by science. These are mythical or legendary creatures that appear in folklore, urban legends or mythology.

Flatwoods Monster[]

The Flatwoods Monster (フラットウッズ・モンスター Furattouzzu Monsutā?) was the UMA name given to the alien that was first sighted in the town of Flatwoods in Braxton County, West Virginia, being recognized for its height (standing at 3 meters tall) and its hood-like appendage. At some point, the alien came to Japan and had been reported to have been sighted in the Yamanashi Prefecture.
The Flatwoods Monster was affiliated with the Serpo and confronted Momo and Okarun at the Ayase residence to retrieve their banana organs. However, it was ultimately killed after being burned to ash by the effects of the talisman the Ayases have placed on their torii gate to ward off yokai.
Nessie[]

Nessie (ネッシー Nesshī?) was a famous mythical creature in Scottish folklore which inhabits the Loch Ness Lake. It was allegedly spotted for the first time in 1933, with the "Surgeon's photograph" of 1934 increasing significantly its popularity; however, stories of the massive water beast appeared even in the 6th and 7th century.
Nessie was hired by the Serpo along with Mantisian to fight Okarun, Momo and Aira, which would point to it being an alien using extraterrestrial currency. After a Serpo merged with it and Mantisian to become the Serpo Dover Demon Nessie, the aquatic UMA met its end after having its body split by Okarun.
Dover Demon[]

The Dover Demon (ドーバーデーモン Dōbā Dēmon?) refers to Mantisian, then known as Peeny-Weeny, a 
who was first sighted at Dover, Massachusetts on Earth.
Mantisian reappeared in Kamigoe City after being hired, along with Nessie, by the Serpo to capture Okarun at Kami High. However, following the mission's failure, Mantisian went on to live on Earth as a disguised alien with his son Chiquitita.
Tsuchinoko[]

The Tsuchinoko.
The Tsuchinoko (ツチノコ) is a snake UMA found only in Japan, with the exception of Hokkaido, Amami, and Okinawa. It is described as being between 30 to 80 centimeters long and having a number of other unusual characteristics.
Byakuja Village possesses a rich history associated with the Tsuchinoko, which includes a notable legend, and currently features a shrine dedicated to this creature. However, following the arrival of Momo, Okarun, Jiji, and Turbo Granny, it was revealed that the Tsuchinoko in Byakuja Village was, in fact, a Mongolian Death Worm that was cared for by the Kito Family.
Mongolian Death Worms[]

Mongolian Death Worms are a species of gigantic worms in Gobi Desert, Mongolia that are capable of regenerating and producing lightning and deadly poison.
A Mongolian Death Worm once inhabited the volcano in Byakuja Village for over 200 years and was venerated by the local villagers as the Tsuchinoko cryptid, as it was known for causing the volcano to erupt when it felt hunger. To protect the village from the dangers of magma and have the Mongolian Death Worm develop, the Kito Family maintained a tradition of appeasing it by sacrificing a child from their community. Following the arrival of Momo, Okarun, Jiji, and Turbo Granny, the Mongolian Death Worm met its end after being exposed to sunlight by Momo.
Subterraneans[]

The Subterraneans (地底人 Chisokojin?) are creatures originating from Agartha. The only known subterraneans are the Kito Family who once resided in Byakuja Village to see to the growth of a Mongolian Death Worm. Nothing else is known of the race in the series, other than coming from Agartha.
Typhoon Human[]

The Typhoon Human (台風人間 Taifū Ningen?) is a sentient typhoon first named by the cryptologist professor Takeshi Nakazawa, who determined from eyewitnesses to be a creature which dismembers itself as it flies through the air, meaning that the cryptid is the typhoon itself.
It suddenly appeared outside of the plane in which the Family and the Kitos were brawling, leading to a temporary truce as the cryptid carried around in its winds thousands of frozen sharks. Momo theorized that the typhoon might have been hired by aliens like when the Serpo recruited Nessie to attack them.
