Uchide-no-Kozuchi (打ち出の小槌, Uchide-no-Kozuchi^? Literally meaning: Tap-Appear Mallet) is a legendary mystical hammer that was once wielded by Issun-boshi. The hammer is currently in the possession of the god Daikokuten.

Appearance

The Uchide-no-Kozuchi is a mallet with an ornate and intricate design. It features a spherical head adorned with elaborate patterns, including floral and leaf motifs. The handle is decorated with a wave-like design and at the end of it there is a decorative tassel, further enhancing its ornamental look.

In accordance with Japanese folklore, the uchide-no-kozuchi possesses the power to fulfill the wishes of its wielder by "tapping out" their desires, such as increasing their size.

History

According to Japanese folklore, Issun-boshi, the Inch-High Samurai, acquired the Uchide-no-Kozuchi from a demon who dropped it. He then chose to utilize the hammer by increasing his body size. Since then, the Uchide-no-Kozuchi has been in the possession of the god Daikokuten.

After he is asked for help by Seiko on how she can turn her shrunken granddaughter back to normal size, Kashimoto suggests to her to go to Izumo Taisha to claim the Uchide-no-Kozuchi from Daikokuten and utilize it the same way Issun-boshi once did.

Shimane Arc

After locating Momo, who had disappeared entirely due to her curse, a priest from an unidentified religious organization brought her to a shrine where he utilized the Uchide-no-Kozuchi to restore her to her original size.
